This is the world of Midkemia, the world in which our journey takes place. Midkemia is very much like Earth in terms of climate and geology. It has three moons and three large continents. The continents are: Triagia- the largest continent, where our story begins and ends. Triagia is home to many kingdoms in the north and a significantly large empire in the south. Triagia is home to men, elves, dwarves, orcs, dragons, and all sorts of incredible creatures. The major regions of this land are The Kingdom of the Isles, The Kingdom of Roldem, and the Empire of Great Kesh. Triagia is possibly where all humans come from on the planet of Midkemia and where the elves also come from. It is the most civilized of the continents with a history beginning eons before the first story begins.

Novindus- the second largest continent of Midkemia. Novindus is in several of the book series, with a past rooted in destruction. Novindus is a place that is seemingly lawless, bandits and mercinaries come here often to reap the rewards of those who are simple and easily taken advantage of. There have been some who have tried to bring order to the land but most are very contained to large cities. Any sense of hope for order does not occur until the land is almost utterly destroyed and ravaged by a terrible destructive raping of it and a man of power rises with the intent on saving it, recruiting a man of significance to our story to his cause. The land does hide secrets old and ancient. The tallest mountains in the world known as the Pillars of the Gods are on this continent.

Winet- the smallest of the three continents. Winet has almost no inhabitants and is only briefly mentioned. Those that live on this land are refugees from Triagia and a race of nomadic snake warriors.

The world of Midkemia is vast and filled with a history that goes back to the dawn of existence. In some ways Midkemia was chosen to be a kind of battleground for the universe. Events occurring at this dawn have led to what happens in the story. This is the land of great struggle and great fear. A land of battle and power. This is Midkemia.

Riftwar Cycle, High Hopes

For the first post of this blog I will explain a but about what it is going to be about. This blog will be absolutely dedicated to all things that have to do with the famous work of Raymond E. Feist, perhaps the second greatest epic fantasy writer of all time behind J.R.R. Tolkein. This I believe is the first blog to be dedicated to his work. I want to unite those who love the book series known collectively as the "Riftwar Cycle." It is also to bring awareness to one of the absolute greatest book series for any lover of fantasy to read. This book series has shaped my life and my writing and so I will try to do it justice bringing content that is worthy. So, with great hopes for it, I cannot wait to introduce you to the world of Midkemia.
