I love how the show dismisses the fact that if it wasn’t for the Korean cobra Kai students, then Johnny’s Cobra Kai wouldn’t be the number one dojo

fanfic writers are so fucking awesome man. they write novel length fics that are sometimes even better than some published bestselling books written by professional writers. like fanfic writers are professional writers to me and they gift us their masterpieces for free. they give us something we can look forward to after a long day. something from which we can seek comfort when life is hard. something that can be our own little getaway. in a world of capitalism, despite everything, they give us all of these for free. like holy fuck. shout out to every fanfic writer. I wish all fanfic writers a very ‘I love you with all my heart and soul. I thank you from the bottom of my heart’

i know there’s a timeskip and all but … why were none of the teens affected by kwons death lol
it’s like it didn’t even happen for them. shouldn’t they be showing signs of trauma from seeing a kid literally die?
like why was there nothing?
because you’re telling me that when they learn that the tourney is back on they’re just fine with it and wanna go ahead no objections?
crazy to me.
i went in thinking they were gonna explore everyone’s reactions to seeing kwon literally fucking die and i got nothing?
someone who i thought would be affected, would be tory. i mean losing her mother and a few weeks later or so, losing her teammate and she was obviously the most closest to him due to being in the same dojo.
like why’d they also describe the events of barcelona as ‘drama’ a kid literally died on television. that is not drama.
like ?? question mark lmao. but okay. i guess. 😃

Angry Part 2 Spoilers but the writers did my goat so dirty!
I hate the way the writers handled Kwon's character in Part 2 compared to Part 1. They did everything right setting him up,building up a proper teen antagonist we knew was going to interact and mesg with our Miyagi-Do mains.
We're thinking after Part 1 "Okay, they got a story brewing for this new Kwon guy. We're saving him for Part 2 and 3 to properly flesh him out and enhance his character's depth." The writers failed to do everything right with Kwon in Part 2, everything. Kwon was billed as the big bad, the big threat for the teens but he's just pushed to the side for the sake of Axel,Keenry drama and more Miyagi glaze. Like wtf were they thinking?
This guy should have been your #1 priority but you completely butcher his execution after that captain war, quite literally feeding him to this random guy that comes out of thin air to squash all of Kwon's potential. I'm not addressing him by his name or anything beyond that because I have no respect at all for his useless character(ESPECIALLY HIS HATRED FOR MIGUEL). They do right with the kicking competition, they do right with having him take out Demetri and Robby. They did right all of that in Part 2 increasing his legitimacy as a threat until they just flat out are done with him. He's fed to karate Frankenstein that was ridiculously unnecessary.
His one-sided beef with Robby doesn't do anything but make Kwon look desperate for a feud. Before Part 2, he was focused and confident now in Part 2 he's arrogant and cocky. Wtf? His goal is to take down Miyagi Do, it's not personal just a competition. i hate how all of his attention is on Robby like he's the only one that matters just for the simple fact he's the male captain. So what? The rivalry with Robby did more for Robby for the sake of deading his tension with Tory and rekindling their relationship.
Kwon and Tory honestly could've hooked up or had a off to the side fling because Tory and Robby were on break. THAT would have built proper tension between both guys instead of having Kwon poke Robby who could give 2 f**ks about him. Now onto my favorite part of the season, the tag match between Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai aka Kwon carrying his team and scoring on the top male and female fighters of the entire show sans him. I personally got Kwon as the best teen fighter but that's just me.
Why did the writers write this scene the way they did and absolutely demolish Kwon's experience, combat training and H2H coordination? Why is he treated as such fodder to Karate Frankenstein and Robby just to build them up in favor of putting him down and burying his character even further. I hate this, they completely punked Kwon and he never recovered from that point on.
"B-But he destroyed Diego" so what? Diego is nobody we know well enough, Sam kept up with him who Kwon scored on easily. It's just not that impressive or enough for me to...well take Kwon seriously. His team got lucky because Tiger Strike(my favorite Dojo in the entire show) got caught using steroids. They got a handout because plot demanded it, if that never happened well you know.
Let's move on the final part of this before yall get to the "I ain't reading allat" phase in your brains. I'll skip over to the nail in the coffin the writers gave us Kwon "glazers" and sealed his fate. The good ol rusty character goes berserk, picks up weapon and uses it attack but it ends up killing them trope. Yeah I would have 2 nickels that a similar dilemma has happened to a favorite. IT'S WEIRD IT'S ONLY HAPPENED TWICE! Kwon Jae Sung, my favorite this season. Had a look, presence, dialogue and voice all to surpass Miguel and Hawk as my #1 top tier favorite this season.
I don't get their logic for for putting all their eggs in a basket that they aren't sure can hold all of them when they have more usage with another basket that could hold plenty. Killing his character off the way they did was so dumb. Having Kreese bring a knife and plotting to kill a character in all 3-4? episodes was dumber. Having said character drop the knife without realizing before it's too late is even dumber but holy shit was it fanatical writing when they have Kwon kick with said weapon in air just to fall on it and die a very dumb death. Idc how shocking it was, suberting ones' expections is never always going to be a good thing. Killing Kwon wasn't needed, that brawl wasn't needed, Kreese being bloodthirsty wasn't needed, Terry Silver wasn't needed, karate frankenstein wasn't needed. So many damn dumb mistakes this season overall but Kwon dying is the biggest offender. I will never understand or forgive the writers for this atrocious writing decision in killing off somebody that generated a buzz, an interest and had massive potential. You kill him at his prime without fleshing out his backstory, his motivations. Was he abused? Why does he love karate? They gave us nothing
Tumblr media
Where is the rest of his character?
Tumblr media
Where is the PROPER conclusion to his arc?

Damn...
I wanna have the same mental strength most Cobra Kai characters had after seeing a freaking teenager die in front of their eyes in the middle of a brawl they all participated in
Like... No trauma, no PTSD, no fear of fighting again in tournaments, no flashbacks, no questioning their own actions, no nothing!
The teens didn't give a shit (except Sam). Demetri joking with the boys and telling Robby "we don't want you dead", Tory not wanting to participate in the tournament only because she was scared to lose her Miyagi Do friends again (?) and not because she has experienced two cruel deaths in person in a matter of weeks/months (??), Axel seemingly not remembering anything when he was the last one to fight Kwon just before he stabbed himself.......
They literally just waited one month because of the "media scandal" and then BAM! "We're all in this together 🕺🏽💃🏼👏🏻" finale like nothing
Daniel LaRusso was the only one feeling paranoid and guess what? Everyone was like "Pft yeah, it's normal since he was the one to turn the kid LIKE A PANCAKE" 🙄🙄🙄🙄 as if the rest of the teams that participated in the Sekai Taikai weren't there 🤦🏽‍♀️
Yeah, I agree, they can't be grieving forever. Especially since most of them didn't know Kwon at all and "life goes on" and blah blah...
But the time jump being that short and the mental state of the characters being that indifferent just made them look like:
Either they're all stupid
Or they're all heartless
And I don't know what's worse.......
Many fans have pointed all of this out and that gives me a little hope in humanity still 🙃

okay now that I’ve said my fav things about the final part, I’ll vent about what I disliked the most about the final part. So, can we talk about the DISRESPECT they all did to kwon jae-sung ?
I get that kwon wasn’t the main character to focus on but his death should have affected them all way more than it showed.
I wish there was a scene where one of the characters decided to go to Korea to find out about kwon and his upbringing. just to know about him, I don’t know just something or at least the dojo doing something in his honour of him passing like lighting white paper lanterns into the sky from outside the place the fight happened.
having a moment of silence for kwon and then making a joke during it was so sickening. I felt so guilty to laugh. it almost felt like no one even cared. they even made fun of daniel’s grieving process and a random lady talking to sam waved off kwon’s death like it was nothing.
the only person I could see Kwon’s death majorly affecting was Kreese and that helped him realize everything he’s done wrong and transform into the person we always hoped he’d become.
I just thought it was all just really sad to see everyone treat the death of kwon that way.
shoutout to kreese for actually taking it seriously 🕊️ ♡

Ok... It ended CK S6 Part 3 Spoilers
Ok I wasn't too mad, but I'm still pissed at some stuff.
WHAT WAS THAT? WHERE WAS THR PAYOFF OF KREESE DYING???
Like how that would affect Tory? Johnny? WHERE WAS THAT DO THEY EVEN KNOW????
Also, Tory and Kreese my beloveds I love you so so much and all of your scenes are so deep and heartfelt and my favorite ones it's beautiful I love you so so much my grandfather-granddaughter bond.
Keenry is endgame... I don't feel nothing. Them getting back together made me feel nothing. The I love you made me feel absolutely nothing. Which is not bad, I'm sure it was awesome for anyone who shipps them like I used to.
Loved seeing Zara get beaten, but damn choreography cause she was so fucking far and kick looks like it didn't even hit her but ok, we take a win.
I'm mad CK Korea dropped but I know why they did (was half glad Kim murdered her grandfather) and seeing them in the end was beautiful (Chozim endgame made me feel more than Keenry just so you know).
Yeah that's it, I'm kinda glad it's over, but I will miss this show so much.
