my personal beliefs on why hiro is a victim.

let me just clear up one thing before anyone decides to attack me. I am not saying that karmi has sexually assaulted or abused hiro (if that’s what anyone’s thinking when they hear the term victim), but I am saying that karmi has emotionally abused hiro with her stalker tendencies. karmi is known throughout the show to absolutely hate hiro’s guts, yet at the same time, she crushes over hiro’s superhero alter ego, also known as captain cutie. karmi constantly shames and makes fun of hiro every moment she gets, but when she sees his superhero form, she instantly gets all lovey-dovey and starts to do stuff that makes him uncomfortable, such as chasing him with love letters. nobody does anything about it. instead, they all cherish and love karmi and then proceed to not give two shits about hiro. take fan friction as an example. in fan friction, karmi writes self insert fanfiction about captain cutie, and when hiro finds out about it, he’s rightfully uncomfortable. he tries to tell his friends that he’s uncomfortable with it, but instead, they excuse it off as “just having fun”. hell even the students at hiro’s college call karmi “lucky” because they think that they’re actually dating, which only makes him even more uncomfortable. in the end, hiro gets pressured into satisfying karmi’s ego by changing their superhero names into the ones she picked out for her fanfic, even though he literally didn’t want to. need another example? prey date. in prey date, karmi gets mad at hiro for being in the labs, and she’s also seen embarrassed being around him. yet as soon as captain cutie shows up, she gets all lovey-dovey again and cuddles up with him, which hiro is shown to be uncomfortable with karmi doing this. also, karmi literally tries HITTING hiro when he instructs her to stay in the lab, which I shouldn’t have to explain why that is wrong. if you STILL need an example after this, then take issue 188 as an example too. in issue 188, hiro gets introduced to karmi, and karmi is automatically a bitch towards hiro because she took her spot as the youngest student to transfer to hiro’s college. yet, she doesn’t want granville to know because otherwise, she’d get in trouble. hiro tries to tell gogo about it, but she shrugs it off as hiro’s fault because he “took her thing”. later on in the episode, karmi is seen crushing on a picture of captain cutie. hiro says hi to karmi, and karmi instantly starts making fun of him in a way that makes him uncomfortable, saying that he has a crush on her when he really doesn’t. he then brings up the fact that karmi is crushing on a picture of captain cutie, aka him, and she starts acting creepy with him, saying stuff that makes him even more uncomfortable, and he ends up walking away. it doesn’t help that at the end of the episode, she gets away with makimg hiro’s life a living hell by comtinuing to say that he has a crush on her and by crushing on captain cutie. this just shows how much of a creep and a bitch karmi acts towards hiro, and it also shows that hiro’s “friends” really don’t care about hiro. that’s what makes hiro a victim.
