very fond of the sassy bitterness between giles and spike due to the fact that they are literally exactly who each other used to be. like. you meet a guy who acts identical to the man you're trying to distance yourself from being, like, as much as possible, and hes feeling the exact same things. the DRAMA of it all. no wonder they hated each other

Still a trio after all this time 💗
[ID: A drawing of Miles Edgeworth, Larry Butz, and Phoenix Wright; both from the present and past. Near the top of the image the trio is posing for a photo; Larry, in the middle, is grinning widely, and leaning his elbows on the shoulders of the other two. Miles crosses his arms, looking toward his friends and scowling over the contact, Phoenix smiles fondly while observing the interaction. In the middle and lower half of the image, and superimposed over their older figures, is a picture of their younger selves in a very similar position. Young Larry is once again in the middle, leaning his arms on his friends’ shoulders, while young Miles opens his mouth in protest, and young Phoenix is again observing his friends and laughing with a open smile. End ID]
#holy shit I’m in love with this#I’m playing Spirit of Justice and just keep wondering what Larry and Gumshoe are up to#Miles Edgeworth#Larry Butz#Phoenix Wright#Ace Attorney#fanart

We have to talk about Giles in Band Candy. No, not the psychic damage to an entire generation of queer people when our fictional dad turned into Daddy. I mean what is apparently my new beat- Buffy and class.
Giles’ “young” accent isn’t regional so much as it is a lower class accident. Given the apparent attention to the reality of England throughout most of the show I’m sure the Doyalist explanation is that someone said “I don’t know young Giles probably had some Sex Pistols energy.”
But if we accept the idea that Giles DID actually have a lower class accent as a teen- this opens up some fascinating questions. We know that Giles came from a family of Watchers, and everything we know about the Watchers indicate that they seem to need to perform an aggressively middle-class set of values. (We see Wesley but we also hear about the watchers retreat in the Cotswalds…they’re going for a vibe). Therefore it is unlikely this was Giles’ actually childhood accent. While lots of people (particularly at Oxford) change their accent in University if Giles’ father at least likely sounded like adult Giles. Which means the entire sound is a conscious affectation.
His insecurity and performative rebellion went so deep. Basically I will always mourn the Ripper series we never got.
#I think about this all the time#either his Ripper persona is fake or it’s real and he suppresses it almost every day#would be cool if in his more Ripper moments like threatening people the accent slipped out#Rupert Giles#Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The Rehearsal S02E03 "Pilot's Code"
After his father's death, the word "iPod" began showing up constantly in his book. With unlimited access to music, it felt to me that for the first time, he had a way to understand his feelings through lyrics. "I'm gonna soak up the sun…" My dad lived a line from that Sheryl Crow song. "It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got." But the one band he mentions more than any other is Evanescence. And living as him, I could understand why.
#genuinely the most insane episode of television I’ve ever seen#I have not stopped thinking about it all week#The Rehearsal#Nathan Fielder

Question: What is the greatest magic of all? Answer: Friendship, right? [B]: The greatest magic of all is not friendship, it's chronomancy, the ability to control and warp time. If friendship were the greatest magic, look, it's a pet peeve of mine (...)

man supernatural might be bad but also ill be damned if thats not the most american show ever. like theres movies and tv that've tried to be this american but 99% have failed. you watch a particularly good episode of supernatural and suddenly you feel the hours of highway winds against your skin and theres more asphalt road than livable terrain for miles and you eat the best meal of your life at a pit stop and you havent gone to church since you were a kid but you still think about praying sometimes and you split a 6 pack with someone you love and a few too many people around you have guns and the land around you is so big when youre right in the center of it you feel like it could swallow you up and you know for a fact theres an unimaginable amount of mythology just beneath the surface. and then you watch the next episode where sam kills paris hilton or something
