Hello everyone; we know it's been a while since you have all heard from us, and for that we apologize for the silence. Long story short, the IRL for many mods have become complicated so they had to step down, for personal, health and other reasons.

However, we're happy to say that the project has been alive, with the contributors hard at work and the mods bringing on some help to bring Style on the Rise to completion, aiming to present a physical project for you all to buy and enjoy!

We all at SotR are determined to deliver a beautiful, finished project, so more updates will follow as soon as possible. Future dates for preorders will also be revealed in time! Thank you all for your support thus far, and see you soon!

Hello! I was wondering when applicants will be alerted if they have been accepted or not? If we haven’t received any notice by now, does that mean we’ve been rejected? Just want to know cause I was really looking forward to signing up. :)

Hey there! Due to the great amount of applications we've received it's taking us longer to go through everyone's applications than we initially planned, we're still working on the selections!

Everyone should receive an email to let you know whether you've been selected or not, we'll announce when that happens here and on twitter as well!

So when asking for an applicant to pitch a concept what exactly does that mean? I’ve been having a hard time understanding that and I really want to apply :(

When we say you need to pitch a concept, we want to hear some first ideas you have for the art or writing you'd like to make for the zine! It helps us understand what kind of ideas you have when we go through the applications!

So think about what kind of work you'd like to make and describe that! What characters are in the art/story, what are they wearing, what's the mood of the piece, what's happening in there; all things you can describe, make it as specific as you want! If you don't have a specific concept yet, it's also alright to say what characters and what style of clothes you'd love to work with!

If you are accepted as an artist or writer, you're free to go for a different concept if you aren't too excited about the concept you pitched during the application, so don't worry you're not stuck to the concept you pitch now! Hope that cleared things up a bit!

One more question from me, do we link one art piece for each field or an album of few?

Both options are fine! We've seen applicants sharing Google Drive album links to share some more pieces ^^

Is it for profit?

No this zine is non-profit! The digital zine will be available for free to download, and the previous edition was also sold as a printed version where the price was to cover the production costs, it would be the same for Volume 2 if we do offer a printed version of that one!

Hello! In the application, one of the fields asks for a piece that "features clothing". Is this supposed to be to judge how we draw clothes, how we design outfits, or both at the same time? Because that determines which piece we pick to show of. Thanks in advance!

It's mostly both! We want to see how you draw clothing in general and that looks in your art style, but we're also interesting in seeing what kind of clothing styles you love to draw!

what's the theme for the zine? i swear I've scrolled through your stuff to look but i can't find it/figure it out

This zine's theme is fashion, consider it being the turtles and April making their own fashion magazine together for the fun of it!

And in this volume we're currently organizing we'll also feature a small section to focus on the apocalyptic future that Casey Jr came from as a nod to the movie!

Just letting you know that I found your digital zine and it is PHENOMENAL HOLY GUACAMOLE you guys put so much work into it. I loved every pixel of that pdf and am kicking myself for not getting into this franchise a year earlier. If anyone is still checking this box I hope you know it’s definitely the best and most well thought out zine I’ve ever seen.
