Been hard at work, but finally done with the chest rig, pants and shirt, and the helmet came in from airsoftfactory. Working on the journal/map and guantlet. The window for construction is getting smaller and I only have a few things to finish. Transportation is gonna be lame fitting it all in a carryon. Everything starts with a few crude cuts... Worked on the rough schematic on how to build some of the concepts and cut out the pieces. The sizes feel about right, so we'll see how these turn out in the next couple weeks. My chest rig still needs some more paint and possibly glue/quick seal to fill in the gaps. It aint perfect, but it's dang close. Now comes painting and working on the final pieces. Fading the clothes will be easy enough, but making the map and wrist gauntlet will be a little difficult, but for other (more practical) reasons. Re-worked the fitting of the vest (was a lot bigger/bulkier), attached the magazine holders w/ pocket, and finalized some buckles. Almost to painting! Weekend update: so far, so good I think. The magazine pockets don't look half bad, and the shape feels good. Still need to iron out the connection points as it doesn't fit right.
