if I ever strike gold and end up writing a popular book series i'd love to keep an eye on the fandom to determine the smallest crackship and make that the only one that goes canon

Expanding on this idea a bit story wise, because Bionicle's storytelling has things I really haven't seen done since. A lot of it was done to sell a toyline, sure, but there were some super cool unique storytelling elements at play. Keeping up with the website, comics, and novels...

Comics would be monthly and show the main story, novels eventually became the main story but more fleshed out than the comics but the same "main" plot.

Within the comics the ad pages for the sets would double as lore guides, and the visuals were always super cool.

Meanwhile, the website would also be a source of storytelling. Most famously (and maybe my favorite piece of Bionicle media and storytelling in general), is the Mata Nui Online Game (in my ultimate I have unlimited resources daydream, a point and click game like this would absolutely be part of this project), a game where you explore Mata Nui and get a "ground level" story away from the Toa focusing on the Matoran.

You'd also get "news" reports telling the story beats and additional animations.

And also of course the Bionicle movies. I don't think even in my daydream project I'd go right to movie, but I do have to acknowledge them as a big part of the story!

Anyways I was inspired about all this cuz i saw an indie (i think) company making their own lego type toys with lights, they looked cool so naturally i was like WHY NOT BIONICLE? then next went to “why not ME make bionicle knockoff???"

it's also important to me to note again this would need many trans people on it, it's part of our culture!

I'm also remembering all the bionicle worldbuilding i put in the bg of rising shards, it'd be cool to do this in that universe though i might feel weird having a hypothetical group on it just for a universe i made already
