Beerus sparing Earth for its cuisine surprised Bardock, but he didn't dare voice such. While the destruction god seemed fine with the Saiyan revel at the moment, his presence still put him on edge. He knew very little about gods, but most cultures depicted them as fickle, their moods and favor changing with the breeze. He wasn't looking to change Beerus's mind about Earth or him, even if he wanted to suggest he sampled some dishes far better in other corners of the galaxy.

If someone asked him just before a Supreme Kai of Time whisked him from certain doom to the current time if he would ever think of rebelling against Frieza and the Cold Empire, he likely would have said no. Not that he hadn't flirted with the idea, complained with his comrades after a particularly obnoxious job or when he felt particularly sour about how, though he could fight as well as or better than the Elites, he was still considered a third-class Saiyan. But actually rebelling, starting some revolution? It wasn't on his radar. Frustrated as he could be with his lot in life, he got to fight and bust heads and spend his time with, to him, the best people in the universe. He was fed and sheltered and never bored. Back then, he couldn't ask for more. He didn't need to.

Ask him again after the trip to Planet Meat. After finding out about Frieza's treachery to not only his team, but the one imminent for his entire race...

" It's definitely not something I thought I'd ever do, honestly, " he admitted with a meager shrug, " but I've learned a lot more about the Empire now than I ever did working for them. Far as I can see, they've had it too good for too long. Someone had to challenge them. "

"Quite. It'd be a shame if I did, the planet's choice of cuisine often sates my palate, it'd be a shame for me to miss out on their food anymore than I already have."

Of course, it would only be he who would be at fault if the planet was destroyed, so any "shame" he'd feel would be questionable at best. Not to mention, the planet wasn't initially on his radar as one to cull, but circumstances had lead it to being his favored planet for the time being. The planet would surely fall out of his favor in due time, give a century or two. Maybe a millennia... if they were lucky.

There would be a small smile given, an expression that almost emanated happiness, though it would be more appropriate to describe how the deity felt as slightly amused. There was another question on his mind, one that prodded as to whether Bardock's crusade was one of revenge for the hand Frieza had dealt his species, or an attempt at redemption for what his species had dealt others, or if it was simply an attempt at both, and it simply did not matter if it was his blood or that of others that must be shed before it ended.

But he didn't ask, for it was not his business. And simply pointed out another point of amusement to him.

"Simple curiosity. The Saiyans used to be feared for the ease with how they wiped out entire populations, even more so once Cold had gotten his grips on your planet. And now here you are, wiping out those remnants of that empire with that same ease. Funny how things play out, is it not?"

The pair turned the corner to leave Orange Star's grounds and Caulifla's call for competition curled a devilish smirk onto Videl's lips. Heeding her legs itch to begin her sprint, she took off down the block toward the cafe.

" Won't be much of a race if you can't catch up! " she shouted back with mirthful laughter. " Hope you like eating my dust, Cauli! "

" oh shit, fer real? damn, yer the best dude! " a sparring partner and free food? Caulifla couldn't have been happier with the way their friendship had turned out. with her face beaming, she joined Videl's side.

" oh yeah, " head tilted upward and she began to sniff the air, " yeah that smells real good! race ya there? "

Raditz rolled his eyes but heeded the warning, waiting until Nappa finished his call. " What exactly is your favorite? It's not that shit that tastes like Gorglian sweat that you used to get while we were on the force, is it? "

“Yeah, yeah, I’m workin’ on it. Shut your trap so I can hear it better.” Placing an updated scouter on his ear, he pressed at the button a few times before seeming to contact someone. “Hey, you still got my favorite? Great, send over two tanks’ worth and put it on my tab.”
