Gurdaas Maan: The real Superstar of Punjabi Industry
4 January 1957, A legend was born with a great might and passion towards Punjabi folk music that he went on to become world renowned musician. His passion towards music can be measured from the way he has been in his around 36 years of career which almost seem never ending. Born in a small village called Giddarbaha in Punjab he went on to become Punjab’s first musician superstar that even now he is considered as one of the most notable figures of the music industry.
Career: Dil da mamla hai was recorded in 1980 that gained international attention and made him a superstar overnight. Since then, he recorded over 4 albums and has written over 305 songs. Soon after that came "Mamla Gadbad Hai" and "Chhalla", the latter being the hit film song from the Punjabi film 'Long Da Lishkara' (1986), which Maan composed under the music direction of the legendary ghazal singer Jagjit Singh. he also received an honorary degree of Doctor of Music from the University of Wolverhampton on 7 September 2010.he even performed at the royal albert hall for two nights in the month of april in 2010, it was the first time any punjabi artist got the opportunity to perform at that stage where legends like lata mangeshkar and nusrat fateh ali khan has already sung there. He even said it in an interview that this was the best time of his life where he could hear the legendary voices of lata mangeshkar, which again proves that no matter how much high he goes he would always be connected to the roots. The power of a real man, I suppose. maan has also starred in many blockbuster Bollywood films and has received several awards, including the Jury's Award, presented to him by the then president of India in 2005. He also sang popular track, Ki Banu Duniya Da on Coke Studio MTV Season 4 along with singer Diljit Dosanjh that released on 15th August 2015 and hit more than 3 million views on YouTube in 1 week. another record has ben set under his name and he once gain recorded himself the undisputed king of the genre- music.not only music he featured in many films including waris shah- ishq da waris and shaheede e mohabbat that were recorded as the most successful films of the punjabi cinema.he also appeared in a hit film that revolutionized his skills of acting as bhagat singh in the then blockbuster shaheed udham singh. Adding to this he also starred in des hoeya pardes in 2004 alogside juhi chawla illustrating the tragedies faced by people of punjab in 1980. Aside from singing in Punjabi, he is also fluent in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Haryanvi and Rajasthani. As an actor he has starred in Punjabi, Hindi and Tamil movies, but he is particularly known for his starring role in Waris Shah-Ishq Da Waaris, a presentation of Punjabi poet Waris Shah during the creation of his legendary poem Heer Ranjha, co-starring Juhi Chawla and Divya Dutta. Waris Shah-Ishq Da Waaris is recorded as the first Punjabi movie which was nominated for OSCAR Awards 2006. He also made a special appearance in Veer-Zaara with Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta.not only this, He has appeared in Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da (1982), Mamla Garbar Hai (1984), Long Da Lishkara (1986), Qurbani Jatt Di (1990), Pratigya (1990), Roohani Taaqat (1991), Saali Adhi Ghar Waali (1992), Wanted: Gurdaas Maan Dead or Alive (1994), Kachehri (1994), and Zindagi Khoobsoorat Hai (2002).
Awards: In 2009 he won "Best International Album" at the UK Asian Music Awards for Boot Polishan, for his acting in waris shah and other films he has been awarded as the best actor that also listed itself as India’s selection for the academy awards. Along with this he has also been awarded the national film award for best male playback singer in 2006 and jury award for best actor in 2004 for waris shah.
Current Projects: His current citations are live shows and award functions where he motivates young singers to follow their dream. He has also started a youtube channel under his name to get connected to his fans with his new and old videos.

Harbhajan Mann
Harbhajan mann is a noted Punjabi singer, actor, performer and film producer recognized worldwide for his unique sense of style and singing. Born on 30 december 1965 in village khemuana in Bathinda Punjab with a dream to become a super singer one day. He began singing as an amateur in 1980 and performed in local shows for south Asian community while he attending his high school in Canada. With this his interest in singing as a solo artist rose and he recited Chitthiye nee Chitthiye in Punjab region of Canada which was able to collect regional success and he rose to fame with his very first venture. It didn’t take him long to discover that market of Punjab in Canada is small and to fulfill his dream of becoming a superstar he returned to India to record his albums.
Career: Having a breakthrough in 1999 with exposure given by India MTV and T-Series assisted his Oye Hoye album to become successful since then His Punjabi-pop style attracted audiences and he was roled in for a playback singing for many actors of Indian cinema. His playback work led to revolutionizing Punjabi cinema and he became a prominent figure of the Punjabi music industry. he himself starred and produced seven films : Ji Aayan Nu, Asa Nu Mann Watna Da, Dil Apna Punjabi, Mitti Wajaan Mardi, Mera Pind, My home, Jag Jeondiyan De Mele and ,Heer Ranjha. with his aim to create music for cultures and that live for decades, he wlong with debutante director bobby sandhu in a music video chaun ku din ka mela that was critically acclaimed and he received praise for beautifully portraying Punjabi culture. Many of his songs Nazran Miliyan ,Mauj Mastiyan,Dil Dol Gaya ,Lala Lala Lala,Oye-Hoye,Vadhaiyan Jee Vadhaiyan,Jag Jeondeyan De Mele,Chithiye Ne Chithiye,Gidha Punjabna Da,Ishq De Mamle got fame and his career went off wirth a great flight. Not only singing he did won million hearts in acting in many feature films like jee aaya nu, heer ranjha, yaara o dildara, hanni, saadey cm saab etc which served as a benchmark in his career and he was successfully termed as an actor as well.
Awards: He was awarded the Punjabi best music pop artist in 2011 for his album vaari vaari for which he received many applause and recognition.
Current Projects: He is working on Delhi 84 and many videos for his fans go wild after him. His old videos are still heard by many of his fans and his tracks are still one of the grooviest of all times.

A legendary Punjabi folk and pop singer with a soothing voice and great acting talent. Born on 25 January 1961 in kheri naudh Singh district in Punjab, got first noticed with his introductory film roadways di laari in the early 1980s. His father late sagar mastana was a world renowned tubal player who invented a new technique of playing table with a bamboo stick. Being the youngest of the three siblings he has, his family has contributed their part into India’s best talents. like his father, his elder brother bharpoor ali is playing table in sardool's music album continuing the legacy of his father while another elder brother named gamdoor aman was also a singer who is now no more. He is married to aman noorie who is also an accomplished singer and actress.
Career: he got his first break in 1980's with a film roadways di laari which raised him to success and fame all over the world. Belonging to patiala gharana of music, he has 27 albums to his name and his work has been included in over 50 derivative albums worldwide. He released his first album in 1989 gidha beat to which tunes people still groove to their best. He has worked with many companies like t series, Sony music, VIP records labels music bank etc and credited his name on many hit albums with them. Some of the artistic works of Sardool Sikander are jug jug jiyan bhabhiyan, London vich beh gai, nchna skht mana hai, munde patt gaye and many more. Not only did he made folk or cultural music but also took part in pop music with honey singh and popsy in international villager and nanak naam chardhi kala respectively. Adding to this he also sung in many other pop albums like close to us, shadaiya, and ik tu hove ik main hova uder kamlee records. Hans Raj Hans born under the sign of aries on 9 April 1964 has been determined towards music for m the very beginning. Career: At his adolescent age he learned from music director charanjit ahuja a renowned music director and started Punjabi folk music devotional and sufi music. He also sang in movies and released his first indipop albums which was a big step in this industry and which was highly acclaimed and appreciated by all. He got a chance to work with many world famous musicians like nusrat fateh ali khan in the movie kachche dhaage. His popularity rose and touched the sky when he sang vanjaran kuriye which was full of classical folk and give the basic taste of real Punjab and its culture to all punjabis around the globe. A song written by famous Punjabi writer Mr. Jasvir Cheema 'Mera Dil, Mera Dil...' was a unique song and Hans made it more unique by adding a little classical touch to it with ....'Ray ray saa saa ray ray saa saa....' the first time in Punjabi folk songs' history any singer has used such alaap and he was globally recognized and highly acclaimed by all. His first album was 'jogian de kanna vich kach diya mundra'. he is a man of true passion towards music that even the tough times and adversities couldn't alter his decision and with every single step he went as step higher towards his goal of becoming a well known artist around the globe.
Political Career: His political career didn't went as good as his music career and it went unsuccessful as he competed for a lok sabha seat in jalandhar Punjab constituency in Indian Punjab on a shiromani akali dal ticket on 16 may 2009
Awards: he started receiving awards and recognition during his college days when at GNDU Amritsar he won the top university singing award n Punjabi folk singing for three years in a row. He was also awarded Punjab State Singer Award by Punjab Government and the fourth highest civilian award of India Padma Shri Award for arts from the president of India in 2015.
Current Projects: He went into a controversy when it was reported that he has admitted islam as his religion but his sons navraj and yuvraj hans has denied this fact and cleared the rumour that he has not done anything against the religion or the sikh community.

His popularity increased as he did several music albums and live stage shows at such young age. Since then he never looked back and continued giving hits year by year. His song dhol jagiro da was immensely popular and he was considered one of the gems of Punjabi music industry. Debuted as a supporting role in hawayein he left such an impression at the audiences that he went to claim the highest success worldwide. He was even selected as the main lead in a Punjabi feature film rab ne banaiyan jodiyan which collected immense digits at the box office. He even wrote, produced and acted in his own home-grown films Ekam,Hero Hitler in Love and Desi Romeos. Babbu Maan is a prominent partner in Maan Films Pvt. Ltd, and constructed a film set called Ishqpura in his native village in 2010.
