Dear everyone, 

It’s not very easy to write this, especially when this was a bit of a shock to a lot of us. Honestly, I was lucky enough to be given a day ahead to be prepared for this, but it’s only now that everything is truly sinking in. 

Rookies is the RP where I lasted the longest, due to a number of reasons. This isn’t the first RP I joined when I made my RP comeback, but I feel like this is the one that actually made a lasting impression on me. Being able to stay here for four years was no joke. We have all had our ups and downs, but in the end��� We all still managed to work things out to the best of our abilities. 

To the mods, I know I didn’t always agree with things and was difficult to deal with at times, but I want to thank you all for keeping this place going the way you did. Thank you for all the time, dedication, effort, and love you have put into this place to make it an environment where we can all write and have fun. 

To the other muns, I’m thankful to have met you all, regardless of whether we got to talk a lot or not. We all have been through a lot, haven’t we? I made a lot of friends in the RP, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything else. 

I suck at writing sentimental messages, but I want you all to know how much I appreciate you all. If you guys start acting like you don’t know me after this, I will be very sad. I will be keeping my KRP twitter, but if you will be leaving KRP and want to keep in touch, my main Twitter and Discord are available upon request.

* // [ NEWS ] NEW DRAMA ‘ENTERTAINER’ AIRS FIRST EPISODE

Today, SBS will start airing their new drama ‘ENTERTAINERS’ with its first episode. The drama is about someone starting their own entertainment company and facing the many hardships of growing in the industry. Some of the lead characters are portrayed by idol actors, SEJEONG from girl group K.ARMA, who plays JUNG GEURIN, and VICI from DE:CODE, who plays JO HANEUL. LAY from CONVEX also plays a secondary character, SEO JAEHOON. 

Soundtrack for the drama includes OSTs sung by a few popular new generation idols, including ‘A Love Before’ by ECLIPSE’s HASEUL, and ‘I Can’t Live Without You’ by AND*ROMA’s GYEOUL.

Now that promotions for “High Heels” were done, Wendy has more time to mingle with the trainees and check out some new faces. Today, she was spending lunch with Yoona. She’s a bit late as it is because of school, but she hopes Yoona understands. 

She discreetly enters the restaurant and immediately spots Yoona. Wendy brisk walks over, trying not to draw any attention to herself. It’s not like AND*ROMA’s a household name yet, but she still doesn’t want people thinking she’s being careless. “Sorry, I’m late, unnie,” Wendy says once she gets settled on the chair across Yoona. “My last class dismissed us later than usual.” She sighs. Being in her final year of school is tough, but she has to keep pushing if she wants that diploma by next year. “How have you been doing?”

Yoona had come to appreciate lunch breaks since signing with Nova. Before she became a trainee she could eat whatever and whenever she wanted. Now, her diet was limited and she had set times to eat lunch. She had started getting used to things now which is why she cherished lunch breaks. With the kind of schedule she had, she would gladly take any break she could get.

Today she was finally able to have lunch with Wendy and she was, well, excited. Not only had Wendy been the first person she had met when she first signed with Nova, but she was also her and*roma favourite. Yoona was currently waiting for the idol in a nearby restaurant. It had been some time since she had seen the younger and she was excited to catch up.

the general consensus (save for juhee) was that this was their worst comeback thus far. sunmi wasn’t a fan of the simplified choreography. the song was good. had it been another group, sunmi would have enjoyed it. it was cute and fun. but as the girl group performing this song, sunmi despised it. she’s sure that all of them had their best masks on so that they could lie through their teeths.

with wendy’s introduction out of the way, the girls are quick to go in order with introductions. one by one, as if they’ve done this before. sunmi claps happily. “ah, that was great!” she glances at the cue cards again, continuing. “it is and*roma’s first time doing mv commentary. i hope we can give you all a memorable video so we can come back for next time, right?”

she pauses to allow the girls to mention their hopes and promises to make this a good video. sunmi chuckles. “yes let’s make this the best video yet!” returning to the cue cards, she smiles. “to start off our commentary let us tell you about our newest comeback, high heels. let’s hand it off to our residential song analyst: gyeoul! gyeoul, can you explain it for us?”

Despite Wendy’s lack of fondness for the song, it’s still their own, so she might as well act like she likes it. Only AND*ROMA are allowed to bash this song and that’s in private (or when they have reached Chi-Chi’s level to complain about their songs). Otherwise, she is going to grit her teeth and pretend to like this comeback. Those acting lessons from her youth and in Nova are going to come in handy at times like this one. 

“This is the first time we had a video with a story, yes?” Wendy says to the rest of the group. “I hope that the audience likes it and that our acting came out well.” It was nothing too difficult, but at least it wasn’t the usual dancing in box sets videos they’ve had for their first two singles. The storyline wasn’t anything that needed serious acting, but it was better than the tried-and-tested formula. Oh well. 

“You flatter me, Darae unnie,” Wendy says with a chuckle. “But anyway, ‘High Heels’ deviates from our previous sound somewhat, as the song is closer to the bubblegum pop which you’d hear from first- and second-generation girl groups but made to fit modern times.” It was a more intelligent way of saying it’s a basic pop song, but if she can spin the producers’ bullshit into something that sounds intelligent, then so be it. She had asked many questions in the recording booth, and it is time to put that knowledge to use. “It’s a song that takes me back to my childhood or when I was being introduced to early K-Pop back then.”

simply reaching for the bottle just right behind the one wendy had taken, nako was ready to go about her day but she couldn’t quite stop herself from stealing glances. the female was very pretty and the image on tv didn’t do her any justice. the student let herself get lost in thought there, left to wonder if all idols looked better in real life or if it was just a few rare exceptions like wendy.

then again- she would probably consider hyunjin more handsome in real life than anything he had seen kt release for their kt rookies project.

not noticing she had spaced out while still staring at the female, nako’s eyes widened before she waved her hand hastily, a slight blush spreading over her cheeks. “ah no, I’m sorry. I was spacing out.”

she felt the need to keep the female assured that she was determined to respect her privacy but that was a little hard now that she had been caught spacing out. would it be impolite to just pretend not to know at this point? how bad would she feel if after all her hard work people were even too unbothered to at least tell her she was doing a good job or to cheer for her?

before the female could stop herself thus she simply held up a fist awkwardly. “please don’t mind me. you’re working hard. good luck.”

Wendy chuckles as she waves off the girl’s apology. She checks her list again before looking at the girl one last time. She would look really cute as an idol if she were inclined to do so. There’s only two ways this goes. The girl has no clue who she is, or she knows and is just respecting Wendy’s privacy. Either way, Wendy is relieved she doesn’t have to answer questions about why idols are doing their own groceries. 

However, the girl’s words catch her off-guard. “Oh, thank you,” Wendy says with a small smile. Maybe the girl has a clue who she is after all. But that can also just be wishful thinking. After all, rookies like herself don’t always become household names and faces in one go. That was for groups like I.O.I. and Wanna One. “You’re doing well too, and I’m sure you’ll do even better. Good luck and have a nice day.” Wendy bows before she gets the next item on her grocery list.

BUWYB,but Not With Me

Seulgi is so thankful to be in the same group as Wendy, debuting in the same group as her, even if she was a little late, brought a sense of familiarity to her life, as hectic as it now was.  She’s glad too that she seems to be enjoying this little side project everyone was working on.  It was different enough from their normal music that she felt like everyone was welcoming the change, it was nice to see everyone being so receptive to the suggestion.

She watches Wendy go through the motions of her part and it just brings a grin to Seulgi’s face. “Ah! Too sexy~!” she joins in on the laughter, absolutely beaming at her best friend.  “It is, it is, I think I fell even more for you, is that possible?” she asks with a giggle.  She tilts her head, still smiling brightly. “Is there something you need any help with?  You know I’d do anything for you~”

Wendy bursts out laughing at Seulgi’s praise. She’s fully aware that she has to work on it, but the validation somewhat boosts her mood, if not her confidence. “You guys are geniuses for coming up with this choreography,” Wendy says, heaping some praise on Seulgi in return. “I could never.” Having to come up with her own solo dance for SN Project had been difficult. She has no idea how she managed to get through that one, to be honest. 

“I still need help with making sure I don’t stick out like a sore thumb among you guys,” Wendy says after much delibration. As much as Wendy has improved, she’s not exactly on the same level as the rest of the group in terms of dancing. She has a good memory. It’s a matter of execution at this point. “Should we do it together? What do you think?” Wendy does her rendition of a duck face at Seulgi for laughs. “You’re the one in charge here, Seulgi.”

Guess Who

“breathing- wow, you really are an expert,” kaeun chuckled, eyes curling as she pressed her hands together. and kaeun meant it in a positive light - that’s the thing about her most of the time, that her words carried a sincere weight, even in marvel or in curiosity. even if there was a benefit of doubt or a hint of annoyance, kaeun has learned the art of hiding it all behind a perfectly practised smile. that of course, was reserved only for the handful few - and she’s glad that she wouldn’t ever have to resort to that among her members.

the girls are nice, there’s no reason to bare her fangs at them.

“i don’t think it’s creepy, i think it just means you really mastered your craft,” kaeun added slowly with a firm nod. she could never tell who is who from their breathing, but she would be able to mimic their postures and gestures - coming from her cosplay days where she would follow suit to the animation characters as part of her reprise. “i can only tell from the sounds of you guys walking, mayyybe.” another laugh, she hummed, listening.

the words of letting the team down made her frown thereafter, and she shook her head. “i’m sure you’d do so well if you appear as a contestant, wendy. you’re our and*roma’s pride! there’s no way you would let us down, regardless of how many rounds you pass or didn’t.” the girl lightly poked her cheek, “i’d love for you to join some day. i’m sure that i’d be able to recognize your voice - you have a very beautiful color. even i can get that, and i’m,” she softened her voice making sure she’s away from others especially their manager, “i’m nearly tone-deaf at this rate.”

Wendy chuckles as she accepts the praise. She’s always been so bad at accepting compliments, but she’s trying to work on that. Especially when she feels that Kaeun unni means it. What Kaeun says catches her attention. “You are able to tell who’s who by how we walk? Now that’s even cooler!” Wendy wasn’t exactly good at any survival skills other than screaming and outrunning her enemies. But hearing that someone can tell who’s who by the sound of their footsteps is next level impressive. 

“Thank you, though, unni,” she says with a soft smile. “It means a lot coming from you.” If there was anyone other than her mother and her CEO whose approval Wendy wanted so badly, it would have to be her members. After all, they’re living together and working together 24/7. Wendy has always wanted people to like her, and she just wants to get along with everyone. Life was less complicated if she didn’t have any enemies. 

“I can’t help it, but I want to win. Not just for me, but for the whole AND*ROMA,” Wendy chuckles. “It’s the competitive figure skater in me, I guess.” Ever since debut, Wendy has shifted her priorities from individual glory to bringing up the whole team. After all, they fly together; they flop together. Wendy frowns when Kaeun calls herself tone-deaf. “I don’t think you are. You have a great tone; you just haven’t had a chance to explore it,” she whispers back. “I just think your voice is under-practiced at least for singing. Besides, you’re more focused on rap and dance, right?”

Wendy couldn’t do anything else but nod in approval when the dancers of AND*ROMA presented the choreography they came up with. She doesn't know much about dance when compared to singing, but she couldn't help but wonder why they weren't allowed to come up with their own choreography more often. It's probably the same reason she isn't allowed to write any songs for the group.

She may not be one of the better dancers, but Wendy knows how to study whatever is presented to her. It's a skill she picked up from figure skating, piano, guitar, and ballet classes before joining the ranks of Nova Entertainment.

The concept for this cover is a rather exciting one. It's more in line with what suits their current age group, to be honest. Wendy feels like they're all too old to dancing around while waving lollipops or using a fake cute voice. They are so way beyond that age, so when the dance line proposes an edgier, more mature cover, Wendy is one of the first to say "Yes!"

Honestly, Wendy would have been fine being in the background for most of the dance. She isn't part of dance line and would have been fine if they got most of the spotlight. However, she was delighted to learn that all of them got their moment to shine. All of their dancers deserve so much better, and she hopes this cover shows exactly how good they are as a team.

Before she realizes it, D-Day for recording has arrived. Unlike recording for actual music videos, there's none of the usual nerves that comes with it. The dominant feeling she has is excitement. After all, this is a surprise gift to the fans after winning their first music show. After all, they were gifted with a win, they should give back as well.

To get people hyped for the video, Wendy has taken it upon herself to post a teaser photo of the cover. It's nothing too fancy, but she had to get AND*ROMA's name out there in any way she can.

Her part in the choreography isn't too hard to follow; however, Wendy had to spend a chunk of her time trying to push her hair back in a sexy, but subtle way. She only hopes she doesn't screw up when recording actually happens.

Recording was as fun and exhausting as it could be. After all, they're shooting the same dance over and over again. At least the other girls are a whole lot of fun to be with. She can't imagine being stuck in a studio, recording the same thing over and over again with anyone else.

"Thank you for all your hard work!" They all say when recording ends. Wendy can only hope that the fans enjoy watching this as much as they did making it.

“Ddeulgiiii!” Wendy says in response to Seulgi’s call. She turns away from the mirror to look at her best friend. They’re working on the choreography that the dance line had come up with. It’s something unusual for all six of them to do, but it’s a great way to bond and showcase their dancers’ choreographing skills. Wendy is so proud of the girls (not to mention impressed with them) for coming up with choreography despite their busy schedules. 

Letting herself be hugged, Wendy resigns herself to waddling around for as long as she can. When Seulgi lets go, Wendy turns to her to give her best friend her full attention. “I was working on my center part,” Wendy says with a chuckle. “You know, the one where I have to sexily push my hair back?” She shows Seulgi the aforementioned part before she laughs. “I need to get that part down, since apparently, that’s the killing part in my segment.”

“Wannieee~” Seulgi called out, scampering over to her best friend.  They had agreed to meet up to go over some of the choreography of a cover that the group had planned to do together.  She was happy that they had gotten to do this, because she hadn’t exactly succeeded in doing her vlive yet, but she hoped she’d be able to get it done in the future.  For now, this was a great thing to focus on, even if right now she was just focused on clinging to her smaller friend.

Hugging onto Wendy, Seulgi wasn’t actually paying any attention to what the other had been doing in the moment, fully getting lost in the fact that she could just do this.  After a second, she gave her a big grin and pulled back, not exactly letting go of her, but giving her best friend the room to shrug her off if she wished.  “What are you working on, my adorable wife~?”
