Why do people cheat? Is it because they fall out of love, or have they simply grown tired? Why would someone do this after so many years of marriage, especially after having children, grandchildren, and a whole family? I just don't understand. Why even get married if you're just going to cheat eventually? They spent so much time together, made vows before God and man, promising to be together through thick and thin. Why the infidelity? Was it simply temptation? That's an insufficient reason, because if you truly love your wife, you should cherish, support, care for, and love her no matter what. Avoid temptation in all circumstances.
They say you should forgive him, remember his contributions, because without him, we wouldn't be here. Is that all there is to it? Even though he hasn't apologized, hasn't shown he deserves a second chance, should he be forgiven simply because he's older? I don't think so. I was raised with a fear of God and my parents; if I made a mistake, I had to apologize. But he didn't do anything, and yet he's to be forgiven immediately? We once confronted him about his actions, and his answer was, "I don't know." That's completely unacceptable.
I strongly believe that love in the past was true, unbreakable, and lifelong. But from what I've seen, not all love from that era lasted.
