Trivia: Originally planned as an adaptation of Shotaro Ishinomori's manga 'リュウの道 ' (The Way of Ryu), it was decided to completely omit the science-fiction element and set the anime in prehistoric times (where dinosaurs and humans co-exist, so kind of... science fiction anyway).
