it was easy to sense the presence of another witch nearby. it excited cassandra - since returning to the living world she had yet to cross paths with a fellow witch, and though she never belonged to a coven she did enjoy the understanding they shared with her over nature. approaching the raven haired woman she simply smiled, blonde locks bouncing on her shoulders as she cocked her head to the side. "my apologies...i didn't mean to startle you."
the moonlight shimmered on the calm surface of the secluded lake, surrounded by a dense forest. faye found herself at the water's edge, her raven hair reflecting the silvery glow of the moon. kicking off her shoes, she stepped into the lake, sighing in content as the water lapped at her feet. the night was cold, the air sending a chill through her, but it was peaceful. raising two fingers, the young witch then cast an enchantment, sending two pillars of water shooting into the sky, to then dance around one another, forming an elaborate display before coming crashing back down to the water’s surface. the soft snapping sound of a branch underfoot made faye spin around, eyes searching the brush for the source of the sound. “is someone there?”

cassandra laughed softly at the strangers remark, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "predictable or not, it's nice to see that i'm not the only one" she replied, giving him a warm smile. "feel free to sit down - just because i'm here doesn't mean you can't be either."
Hikaru let himself just walk near the lake on a whim. Truthfully the party felt more stifling then he imagined. And Hikaru, never the biggest people person wanted peace. Hikaru raised his eyebrows when he saw the other. He tilted his head and smirked. "I guess I'm that predicatable." He said jokingly. "I'm allergic to parties anyway."

the other girl's response was telling, a sympathetic smile crossing her lips. "i know. it hasn't always for me...but that's when you need to show your power to others." she knew all too well what could happen if one was too soft...and from that softness she had centuries of regret. a small laugh slipped through the blondes lips, nodding in agreement. "it's sometimes needed."
Erica grimaced at the words, it felt like a punch to the gut because the stranger was right. Erica didn't know what she'd walked into the middle of, or who would have her back if something went wrong. She chalked it down to one person; herself. "Glad kindness worked for you. It doesn't work for everybody." she replied, swallowing at the lump in her throat. Her gaze held on the other girl as she flashed her white teeth in a feline like smile, Erica was definitely a fan of acting on instinct. "Hmm I couldn't agree more. Hit first, ask questions later."

cassandra turned her head toward the man, a gentle smile gracing her lips as she welcomed the newcomer with warm eyes. "i'm more than okay," she replied, her voice carrying a sense of peace that matched the serene surroundings. "being near water has a way of soothing even the most restless souls. sometimes, all it takes is a moment like this to find solace amidst life's chaos."
"but please, don't feel as though you can't stay." she added, smiling as she patted the grassy patch beside her.
Liam should have known better than to aimlessly wander the town after everything he'd seen and been through. He should have took to a treadmill or a lit up sports center, but instead the stubborn idiot stupidly put on his headphones and took off running. He couldn't recall how long been out exactly, passing the track he often took in high school until he felt the familiar footing of the lake. Liam didn't have a reason for ending up at the place he first turned.. but something about it feel symbolic now. Like an old wound that had healed, and most importantly he no longer felt like tearing the boathouse to shreds. Panting as he slowed down his pace he made his way toward the lake taking in the presence of another person. "Oh um.. I don't know anything about tranquility.." he began with a sheepish expression, "But it's kinda' nice on a night like tonight. --Are you okay out here by yourself?"

cassandra maintained her calm demeanour, her expression unwavering despite the strangers attempt to provoke her. with a subtle smile, she replied, "i don't need to scare you. i simply believe in kindness and respect. it's not about intimidation, but understanding that empathy goes a long way, especially in these uncertain times. you never know when you might need someone to have your back." she paused, her gaze steady on the blonde, before adding, "as for what i'm capable of, that's not something i feel the need to boast about. actions speak louder than words, don't you think?"
Erica scoffed in return, feeling as if she had nothing to prove to anyone, especially those she didn't know. "Being nice gets you nowhere." she stated, but her eyes sparkled with intrigue. Erica knew something had changed here, she'd be a fool to think Beacon Hills would anything but a walking nightmare even after all these years. "So what are you capable of then? Cause that's why you said it.. right? To try scare me?"

cassandra found solace by the tranquil lake, the gentle lapping of the water against the shore providing a soothing melody. with a serene smile gracing her lips, she settled onto the grassy bank, allowing the warmth of the sun to caress her skin. the soft breeze played with her hair as she dipped her toes into the cool, refreshing water, feeling the ripples dance around her feet. nature's symphony surrounded her – the chirping of birds in the trees, the rustle of leaves, and the distant hum of cicadas. closing her eyes, she let the peaceful ambiance wash over her, grounding herself in the harmonious connection between earth and water. in that moment, amidst the tranquil beauty of the lake, cassandra embraced the serenity, finding comfort in the simple yet profound pleasures of nature. it was difficult not to hear the footsteps of another approaching, lashes fluttering as she opened her eyes in curiosity, head tilting as she looked at the onlooker. "i see we both had the same idea for a little tranquillity."

cassandra's eyes narrowed at the other blonde, lips pressing together at the tone in which she spoke. "you know, it would do you a favour to be nicer to others, especially strangers. after all, you don't know what they're capable of." she added, an arch in her brow as she stared down the other woman.
Erica shuddered as a cold sensation rippled through her body, snapping her back to reality. After being in the dark and solitude for so long she often found herself wanting to go back to it, to get far away from all the sounds too loud, scents too strong and blinding brightness all around, as her body & mind slowly readjusted. Clutching her take away coffee in her hands she exhaled slowly, careful not to accidently call upon her claws and burst it. "What?" she snapped, glaring up at the figure who'd approached her. "If you're looking for directions, your guess is as good as mine."

the other blonde blinked in surprise, hazel eyes widening at the sudden confrontation. "i....forgive me, i didn't mean to get too close to you. i was simply daydreaming" she gave the other girl an apologetic smile, taking a purposeful step back.
It was late afternoon by the time Lizzie had left the coffee shop, a drink the size of a small child in hand full of caffeine she would surely be downing within the next ten minutes as she made her way towards home. Hearing the footsteps fall into sync mere steps behind her, she waited a few minutes of being followed as she turned down another street. "Did I miss the memo about a surprise walking companion, or are you just really into invading my personal space on this fine afternoon?" she quipped, turning on her heels to face whoever had followed her.

amidst the bustling town square cassandra sat alone, fingers pressed into the grass as she stared into the distance, lost in contemplation. her eyes, like orbs of ancient wisdom, gazed upon the whirlwind of contemporary life. the blasting of car horns and distant chatter seemed to weave a discordant melody, contrasting sharply with the quietude of her thoughts. it was all a puzzle of smartphones and social media, a jigsaw of algorithms and instant gratification, leaving her both intrigued and bewildered, trying to decipher the enigma of the present in the context of her timeless existence.

cassandra was a revered witch who, even from a young age, exhibited extraordinary magical prowess, displaying a deep connection to the natural forces that surrounded her. with a gentle and kind heart, cassandra dedicated her gifts to the service of others. she became a beacon of hope in the roanoke colony, using her healing abilities to mend wounds, cure ailments, and bring solace to the troubled souls of the settlers. her wisdom and compassion earned her the respect and admiration of the community, making her a trusted confidante and advisor.
however, it was during a time of great peril that cassandra's true power and courage came to light. when roanoke fell under the shadow of a malevolent monster, she fearlessly sought out the monster - shocked when what she found seemed to be only a man - sebastian. instead of attempting to kill him, she instead spoke to him, and quickly fell in love with the vampire. instead of betraying him, cassandra summoned a croatoan, intending it to ferret out the lies and deceit that plagued the village. however, her plan backfired terribly, and the croatoan spiralled into madness.
realizing the danger both to herself and to sebastian, cassandra made a desperate decision. in a sacrificial act, she used her magic to desiccate him, putting sebastian into a deep slumber to keep him safe from the chaos she had unleashed. helplessly, he observed as the croatoan, driven insane, tore cassandra apart before her spell could be dispelled.
once on the other side cassandra watched in horror as the people of roanoke one by one were killed, mourning for the people she'd promised to protect, watching as her love was stuck desiccated for centuries.

sebastian: the first man she ever loved - and the last. on the other side she watched him, filled with remorse and regret for what she had done, though she did not regret trying to protect him. she's returned in order to reverse the desiccation she left him in.
