Where… is that cartoon where the one leatherdyke has the other on a leash and there are thought bubbles and they are both thinking something like “this is the greatest, I get to be the center of attention” (and there is a cat also thinking something similar)

Searching for French word for “soup” (Q: Is it a cognate?; A: Yes). Not sure how to word my feedback about “soup, slop, grub nosh.” It sounds like the beginning of a poem for children.

In looking at stuff about silicone implants, I also ended up finding and becoming morbidly fascinated by an article titled "What Makes Buttocks Beautiful? A Review and Classification of the Determinants of Gluteal Beauty and the Surgical Techniques to Achieve Them." I thought perhaps this was a study where they presented a lot of pictures of buttocks to a large selection of people, had them rated, and then analyzed the top-rated results: but no, they only got input from six plastic surgeons.
To discover which anatomic features make the gluteal region attractive and seductive, we studied 2,400 photographs of nude women ages 20 to 35 years, as seen from behind, in different postures and actions, and from different periods (1954 through 2001), to identify each of the features and anatomic elements that create harmony and beauty. The final analysis included 1,320 photographs in which the gluteal region was seen full from behind, in three-quarter profile from behind, and in full profile. ... The selected photographs were analyzed by six certified plastic surgeons, who pointed out which buttocks they considered attractive and harmonious, and features on which this attractiveness depended.
This raises so many questions to me! Why 2,400 photographs? Where did the photographs come from? How were they selected? Why 1954, specifically, through 2001? (The paper was published in 2002.) My totally uninformed guess is that they obtained a big stack of Playboy magazines or something and just picked the first 2,400 they saw --
WAIT I JUST GOOGLED THIS, AND: "The first issue of Playboy appeared in December 1953 with a cover price of 50 cents and Marilyn Monroe on the cover."

Barring the existence of a segment of How It’s Made featuring exactly what it looks like for someone to “shave down” silicone implants, I’m slaking my curiosity by looking at surgical equipment catalogs. I love catalogs of items I would never, ever buy. Evisceration spoons! Septal morselizers! Gel head donuts! Lead hands made of actual lead! A Wartenberg wheel that is $130 for some reason! And my favorite, a $516 box of temporary tattoos that say YES on them so you know you’re operating on the right body part (I guess):
