These are some loops that I have created in Logic pro x. My goal was to create sounds which represented something ambient and dark because that would go with the other sounds I want to put into my piece. I am making a piece that will be as gripping and suspenseful as I can make it. After doing research into what makes scary music scary, I found out that the combination of high notes and low notes create an unsettling sound that is very common in horror movies.
I am happy with the outputs that I have created. The next step is to layer these loops and play around with them to create different sounds. Each individual track has a certain emotion that it portrays, adding them together is like mixing coloured paint, each combination gives a different output, but too much mixing can lose your colour.

I’ve become fascinated with this idea of unexplained occurrences of sounds, particularly ‘spooky’ sounds. Sounds that have come from either natural occurrences, for example, sounds that the wind creates when travelling through a pipe. There are also sounds that a created from un-natural objects such as machinery or this gaming console above.
There is some extra eariness about the fact that the sounds have been stumbled upon, or accidentally created, it gives an unnatural feeling about it, which I want to incorporate in my work

The Max Headroom incident was a hijacking of a tv signal which lasted for 90 seconds, on two different channels. The incident occurred on November 22, 1987, and to this day, the people behind this intrusion is still unknown.
The fact that the intrusion had no answers made me curious. What was the point in the hijacking? Who were the people behind it? These big questions going unanswered gives me a spooky, mysterious feeling. The video itself is creepy enough with the fuzzy tv sounds, the muffled voice, the visuals are unexplainable, everything makes this intrusion more and more unsettling.
I feel like I could mimic this into a scenario where the sounds of the clip give of a really suspenseful soundtrack.
