Hi I’ve already seen two posts about this so I’m gonna stamp it the fuck out. If you’re criticizing Robert for using the ‘genderbend’ hashtag on his tiktok - the song is written for a female identifying character and he is a male performing it. He doesn’t alter his appearance, comment on what maureen should look like or sound like, or make any insinuation about what they should be. He’s simply pointing out he’s covering a song that is written for a different gender identity than his own - you could say that it’s unnecessary he added it, but whats the problem here? are you familiar with Broadway Miscast? You can flood my inbox with complaints - but I’m trans and I don’t need cis people telling me incorrectly when I should be offended thanks.

You associating a body with inappropriate uncomfortable thoughts is not the fault or responsibility of the body. Bodies are not inherently sexual. They are inherently functional. It is not Robert‘s responsibility to negate his own comfort and desire for personal expression to ensure he isn’t somehow too arousing and therefore partially culpable for other people’s thoughts and feelings.

Bodies and nudity are NOT shameful.

Stop doubling down on the need to hide bodies away lest they prompt inappropriate actions or thoughts from others. A body is a human and not an object.

Dont include Robert’s torso when discussing him posting a gender swap photo or Jeff’s unsung Starkid jokes. Embracing your body in an unexplicit way is NOT something anyone needs to apologize for.

I’m sorry for my multiple posts this week on Robert’s Instagram. As someone who has never felt comfortable with my body and appearance I am personally very triggered that we are shaming and sexualizing Robert about photos of his body when he is a victim of violent assault for clothes he has worn. The world is super scary at the moment and a lot of our community experiences anxiety, depression, and many of us are ourselves victims of prejudice and judgement. We can’t let ourselves deflect our pain onto someone else. Absolutely hold people accountable for their actions, absolutely educate people - but this week has just been awful and unfair. I’m sorry to anyone who is feeling anger.

For the Youtube Company who feature themes including (off the top of my head) - Hogwarts teachers hitting on students, hogwarts students hitting on teachers, Hogwarts teachers having sex with centaurs, a whole show about genitals and sexual awakening, stars in the sky that light up and say ‘fuck each other’ during a song named ‘take off your clothes’, interspecies tiger sex, Charlotte having a physical affair, two people having sex in a movie theater, and eating babies.

If you have a discomfort with a male in boxers only - that is fine and valid. HOWEVER you do not have the right to place guilt or shame on someone for your feelings if the photo/costume/video/show is not explicit. He is showing as much skin as he would in a bathing suit in a public place. In fact Starkid performers have only worn boxers in Starkid shows! While always valid, your feelings are not their responsibility. We cannot blame other people’s bodies for our feelings. This isn’t a problem in the Starkid community, this is a worldwide problem.

The tags in Robert’s posts initially mocked his less clothing than usual and likened them to ‘porn’ and ‘onlyfans‘ to make light of his discomfort in showing parts of himself he does not usually reveal due to insecurity. To claim that the inclusion of these tags is in someway insulting sex workers is ridiculous - it is a post celebrating body positivity, it is not negative. There were no defamatory remarks about sex workers.

Stop projecting your discomfort to be the fault of someone else, and if you don’t like it - unfollow. Robert does not have to be considerate of you, particularly to the people posting abuse.

How dare you.

How dare you say you represent the views and fight for the concern of trans people when you sexualise, and body-shame a photo of Robert.

How dare you drag someone relentlessly for being one of the majority who don’t understand that ’genderswapped‘ images make people uncomfortable (who actively seeks education) while YOU actively bully someone with the intention to hurt.

Someone can make a mistake - and there is no denying that mistakes can cause pain. But when you use violent language with intent to cause someone harm, when you take someone’s image and try to give it sexual intent without their consent - I don’t care who you are. THAT’S disgusting.

Ethan Green as a theatre kid:

- In freshman year (when Ethan and Lex were still in school), the musical was Hairspray. Ethan tried out for Link but got cast as a background character instead. Techie Lex made him feel a little better about it by hanging out with him during rehearsal while the leads were working.

- Sophomore year, Hatchetfield High did Into The Woods. Ethan absolutely nailed the audition and got cast as the Baker. As soon as he saw the cast list, he asked Lex out. Their first kiss was the minute the curtain closed, with Ethan literally running offstage still full of adrenaline.

- Junior year things started to go downhill for both Lex and Ethan. Ethan got into drugs, Lex’s grades started to drop, but they still did the musical. Because Ethan was having his own problems and was struggling with addiction, he didn’t do as well in the audition as he could have, and got Lumiere instead of the Beast. Lex was still happy for him, but he knew he could have done better.

- In California, Ethan was set up to get his GED and go to community college for theatre. His plan was to do two years there, then go on to a bigger school in L.A. and get a four year degree in musical theatre.
