Gigabolt Man-O-War
Gigabolt Man-O-War, known in Japan as Gigabolt Dokragen (ギガボルト・ドクラーゲン), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Portuguese Man-O-War. She's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: Due to a programming error, Gigabolt always looks and acts a wee bit stoned, and thus, will not act as most Reploids normally do. But, when it comes to researching electricity and helping her allies out, she has no equal. And yes, we're well aware that Gigabolt's called a he, but he has both a female voice, and jellyfishes technically have no gender anyway, so we decided to make her female. This was perhaps the most ludicrous Reploid to be framed Maverick, and Sigma knew that was the breaking point for credibility. After the coup failed, Gigabolt found new work as a portable charger for Wily's Robot Masters. It's also worth noted that she's able to play the sousaphone after learning how to without lips via Aqua Man, and occasionally sprays water out of hers. Strengths: Thunder Dancer- Like the name suggests, she can dance wildly to generate electric pulses to paralyze opponents. Medium Armor Weaknesses: Crystal Wall- These rocky walls can reflect her bolts of lightning.

Optic Sunflower
Optic Sunflower, known in Japan as Optic Sunfloward (オプティック・サンフラワード), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Sunflower. She's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: A proud trainer of Reploids, this sweet flower was taught by Axle the Red himself, and is equally as deadly. As such, he was framed for being a Maverick, despite that she only attacks in self-defense. In fact, she refuses to start fights unless under contract for religious purposes. See, she's part of a rising religion known as Protectoriatism, which she and Gigabolt Man-O-War are part of. Its belief system specifically states to never fight unless threatened, as the Protectorate Guardian doesn't like aggressors. So, heartbroken by how easily this prejudice forced her loved ones to turn their backs on her, Optic turned to the only group that'd listen to her: The Maverick Hunters. As of these days, she teaches those with the power of light to harness it for good, as well as yoga to those under high stress. It's also worth noting that she's great at playing the sousaphone, able to play it by modifying the mouthpiece to be attachable to her chest. It's more techno-sounding than normal, but she claims it helps her relax. Strengths: Shining Ray- She can summon a great rain of light meteors to pelt the enemy. Light Armor Weaknesses: Green Spinner- In a feat of irony, it's a plant-based projectile that can easily defeat her!

Bamboo Pandemonium
Bamboo Pandemonium, known in Japan as...the same in English (バンブー・パンデモニウム), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Giant Panda. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: Both rocket scientist and plant biologist, this lumbering bear was framed for setting off rockets on a defenseless village of Reploids in Russia. However, he was vouched for by Avalanche Yeti, and has since worked with Sigma to clear his name. In truth, he a pacifist who only uses his weapons in self-defense, and is normally a reclusive loner. As of late, he's been given a second chance, and serves under Neon Tiger as his personal guardian. Strengths: Green Spinner- Armed with bamboo torpedoes that turn into shurikens, they explode on contact with the enemy, leaving splinter-like spears that impale the victim's body like a pin cushion. Heavy Armor Weaknesses: Melt Creeper- This one kinda went without saying, as fire and plants don't mix well.

Burn Rooster
Burn Rooster, known in Japan as Burn Kokekokker (バーン・コケコッカー), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Rhode Island Rooster. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: Tired of both his status as a junkyard attendant, he went on strike along with several Reploid workers. However, he chose a really crappy time to do so. Framed, he was distraught and angered, lashing out at everyone that didn't work with him. Highly emotional, he's equally cocky (pun intended), and it takes a lot to reign him in. As of now, he works as the second-in-command of Magma Dragoon's platoon. Strengths: Melt Creeper- Tapping into the natural heat in the Earth's core, he can create a wave of fire out the ground and melt any objects in front of him Medium Armor Weaknesses: Drift Diamond- Unfortunately, a design flaw makes him vulnerable to freezing his core solid.

Dark Mantis
Dark Mantis, known in Japan as Darkneid Kamakil (ダークネイド・カマキール), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Praying Mantis. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: Trained to be a ninja, this quick scythe-wielder acted similarly to Gravity Antonion; in that he didn't realize he was being framed, and in fact, encouraged berserk behavior. The reason being that he was prone to blur friend from foe like with Crush Crawfish. Fortunately, he was also easy to fix due to this surprising naivete. However, he still chooses to remain alone as a blade-for-hire of sorts. Strengths: Shadow Runner- Armed with sharp blades, they generate a field of shadows that can blind as well as slash up victims. Light Armor Weaknesses: Shining Ray- This one kinda went without saying, as dark and light are mortal enemies.

Gravity Antonion
Gravity Antonion, known in Japan as Gravitate Ant-Onion (グラビテイト・アントニオン), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Bullet Ant. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl.
Personality: Like Earthrock Trilobyte, Gravity was framed unknowingly, albeit a more extreme case than the former. And the reasoning was about the same as well in the diagnostics: They felt their talents were being wasted on humans, so it added up for him to be Maverick. One tune-up later, though, and he gained a heaping bowl of perspective to his daily diet. Now, he works on inventions to assist the Maverick Hunters, and is often seen with Astro Man and Gravity Man on several projects. Strengths: Squeeze Bomb- These specially made bombs can be placed almost anywhere. And are so-called because they not only blow up, but also compress them into a cube of mangled metal and wires. Light Armor Weaknesses: Shadow Runner- However, while smart, he's not the swiftest. And this lack of speed makes him vulnerable to sneak attacks.

Earthrock Trilobyte
Earthrock Trilobyte, known in Japan as Earthrock Torirovich (アースロック・トリロビッチ), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Trilobite. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: Much like Avalanche Yeti, Earthrock was once a respected member of the scientific community, but in both a state of inferiority and denial, he never realized he was being manipulated by Axl. But after apprehending him when he decided to isolate himself from the rest of the world, Split figured out the problem. He, along with his distant cousin Gravity Antonion, thought their talents were being wasted on menial tasks as oppose to the real deal. So now, Trilobyte works with Infinity Mijinion with refining new, mineral-oriented weapons. In his spare time, he does voice acting for an anime dubbing company in New York. Strengths: Crystal Wall- To protect his rather brittle armor, he can generate artificial crystals to protect himself from projectiles. Light Armor Weaknesses: Squeeze Bomb- The only thing that can stop them is a well-placed bomb.

Avalanche Yeti
Avalance Yeti, known in Japan as Ice-Snow Yetinger (アイスノー・イエティンガー), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Yeti. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters to be framed for being a Maverick by Dr. Caine and Axl. Personality: Once a respected member of the EPA's Antarctica Unit, he was branded a Maverick by Axl during a coup orchestrated by Dr. Caine and the X8 roster's creator, Dr. Pragmatic. This Russian voiced giant, in reality, is soft-spoken and gentle. He rarely tries to harm others unless provoked, but the outcry against Reploids proved too great after seven years of war. Avalanche Yeti finds solace with Cold, Frost and Ice Man; and will often be seen playing a round or two of curling with Blizzard Man. After the coup failed, Yeti went on to teach kids the importance of our environment along with Chill Man. Strengths: Drift Diamond- Avalanche can break parts of his armor off to hit/freeze opponents temporarily. Heavy Armor Weaknesses: Thunder Dancer- However, this can often leave him vulnerable to electric charges (a pattern we notice a lot in this franchise).

Wind Crowrang
Wind Crowrang, known in Japan as Wind Karasting (ウィンド・カラスティング), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Raven. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident Aerial Scout. Personality: A witty little bird, this deceitful avian believed that good and evil were more suggestions rather than actual guides to live by. A good tune-up from Sigma and Split Mushroom put a stop to that Maverick train, however. In doing so, he also made him a bit less...squawky in terms of speech. Now, he acts like a stealthful ninja, assassinating Mavericks under the watchful eye of Axle the Red. Strengths: Wind Cutter- His wings and beak can create wind blasts that can slice through almost anything! Light Armor Weaknesses: Sniper Missile- These homing missiles follow Wind regardless of how fast he travels.

Vanishing Gungaroo
Vanishing Gungaroo, known in Japan as Vanishing Gungaroon (バニシング・ガンガルン), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Eastern Grey Kangaroo. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident tech expert. Personality: A kid in his hard drive, Gungaroo loves to play, roughhouse, and be just an all-around buffoonish troublemaker. However, this also makes him pretty impudent and naive, which made him the perfect clay for Caine to mold. This was amplified thanks to the Maverick Virus, and was cured by the then-saved Soldier Stonekong. So Sigma had to upgrade his core processor to avoid such simple traps, as well as give him a bit more tech savviness than before. He was hand-picked to be Infinity Mijinion's personal lab assistant; which at first, he chafed under. That is, until he found out that doing so meant smashing things with big robots! The two became fast friends shortly thereafter. Strengths: Explosion- His gloves house two grenades, which he can fire like two explosive bullets. Medium Armor Weaknesses: Wind Cutter- However, the Wind Cutter can cause his gloves to prematurely detonate.

Tornado Tonion
Tornado Tonion, known in Japan as Tornado Debonion (トルネード・デボニオン), is an Maverick Hunter designed after an Onion. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident cannon fodder. Personality: Despite his happy-go-lucky, borderline insane antics, Tornado is a lot smarter than he lets on. He's fantastic at keeping secrets, and can tell a person's character quickly. Now working with Sigma after being cured of the Maverick Virus, he uses his swift ballet skills to dodge enemy fire. He's considered the professional cannon fodder for the commandos so they can deal the real punches; I mean, for Dr. Wily's sake, he's just an onion! Strengths: Volt Tornado- Like a dreidle, he can spin around enough to generate a powerful thunder tornado! Light Armor Weaknesses: Gaea Shield- The only thing that can stop it is a powerful shield made of rock.

Splash Warfly
Splash Warfly, known in Japan as...basically the same as in English (スプラッシュ・ウオフライ), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Flying Fish. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident espionage agent. Personality: A swift and powerful flying fish, Splash Warfly became obsessed with gathering wealth and fame ever since he was built. Thus, he felt right at home with the likes of Bubble Crab. Using his swift swimming and camouflage ability, he can disappear and reappear to defeat any Mavericks they just so happen to run into on the way into a temple, underwater ruins, or otherwise. As an espionage agent for Red Alert, he's both carefree and serious at the same time, making him difficult to pin down. Strengths: Splash Laser- In his mouth is a powerful hose that can shoot a powerful gush of water, with enough force to push boulders up to ten tons. Light Armor Weaknesses: Volt Tornado- He's both easily electrocuted, and the Volt Tornado can disrupt his camouflage.

Soldier Stonekong
Soldier Stonekong, known in Japan as...actually, this is one of the rare instances where it's the same in Japanese as it is in English. (ソルジャー・ストンコング), Anyway, he's an Maverick Hunter designed after the Gorilla. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident heavy weapons specialist. Personality: This big bruiser was part of a squad of Maverick Hunters, and ostensibly it's heavy weapons expert, called Red Alert. He prides loyalty above all else, and thus obeys only Sigma and Zero, in order to try and save Axl from the clutches of Dr. Caine. He enjoys sparring with Duff McWhalen, a fellow veteran; as well as Flame Mammoth, a fellow heavyweight. Strengths: Gaea Shield- Learning from Shield Sheldon, his massive shield can block almost any attack. Heavy Armor Weaknesses: Explosion- That is, except for one thing: powerful bombs (we're talking C-4 up to hydrogen bomb, here).

Snipe Anteator
Snipe Anteator, known in Japan as Snipe Ariquick (スナイプ・アリクイック), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Giant Anteater. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident strategist. Personality: The eldest of the Red Alert team, he became a Maverick more due to being drunk on knowledge, rather than the virus. Yes, we're aware that it sounds absurd, but he simply grew mad with knowledge, and didn't care whose info he got or what. Sort of like a very creepy old hacker, to give you a better idea. Sigma did the only nice thing and had his intelligence levels dialed back significantly, only enough so that he'd be useful, but not too smart as to go Maverick again. As such, he now gathers intelligence for the Maverick Hunters on any Mavericks around the world; and when he's not doing that, he's challenging Cyber Peacock to virtual poker. Strengths: Sniper Missile- Aside from robotic ants, Snipe can fire missiles from his tongue. Light Armor Weaknesses: Moving Wheel- His armor is so thin, that the Moving Wheel can make short work of him.

Ride Boarski
Ride Boarski, known in Japan as Hellride Inobusky (ヘルライド・イノブスキー), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Wild Boar. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident muscle. Personality: Made with a rather touchy AI, feeling himself to be both large and in charge, he hates being called names, and loved bullying things smaller than him. This was especially magnified during the outbreak of Maverick Virus, when he started forming several gangs to try and rule the city's highways. After doing hard time, he was taken in by Red Alert, and now serves under the watchful eye of Sigma. He's hard to reason with, and he especially hates being told off. However, he does greatly respect both Sigma and Stonekong, so he refuses to rebel. Strengths: Moving Wheel- Like a spinning top, this bladed wheel can cut through enemies like a high-powered buzz saw. Heavy Armor Weaknesses: Circle Blaze- Here's a hilarious weakness, he turns into metal bacon if hit with the Circle Blaze!

Flame Hyenard
Flame Hyenard, known in Japan as Fureimu Haienādo (フレイム・ハイエナード), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Spotted Hyena. He's one of the eight Maverick Hunters in a special emergency squadron called Red Alert, and was the resident lone wolf. Personality: Once a respected member of the Red Alert Squadron, he was given a heavy dose of Maverick Virus from an epidemic caused by Caine and a new robot named Axl. This new Maverick was created by Caine to counter the seemingly unstoppable Zero; and used to be a friend of the Red Alert members. He was driven to insanity by the virus, and it was up to Duff McWhale and Bubble Crab to bring him in and reprogram him. It wasn't easy, the disease was firmly lodged in his brain, and messed with his voice chip as well as his sense of pain. He would attack anyone who approached, trapped in a psychosis he couldn't end. After the procedure, he felt deep regret for his actions. He remains a member of the Maverick Hunters, but goes it alone, not wanting to drive everyone away again by snapping like he did. Strengths: Circle Blaze- This powerful flame can be summoned by having Hyenard spray kerosene from his eyes, and then ignite it with flamethrowers on his wrists. Light Armor Weaknesses: Splash Laser- We believe we all know the unwritten rule about this by now; water and fire don't mix.

Shield Sheldon
Shield Sheldon, known in Japan as Shieldner Sheldon (シールドナー・シェルダン), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Clam. He's one of the eight Reploids of X6's roster, and is one of the Eight Redemptions. This group of Hunters were once strays made for one reason or another, but were lead astray by a cruel fate. They were saved by Sigma, however, and now serve him as loyal protectors. Personality: Programmed to protect his master, Shield Sheldon was a brave and loyal soul, but misguided. His former master went Maverick, and Sheldon was framed for being one as well. So was destroyed in a final assault by Gate against the Repliforce, Rainy Turtloid barely surviving. However, Sheldon was given a second chance by Zero and Magma Dragoon, who found his broken body and made the proper repairs. In the end, he was assigned to be Zero's personal bodyguard, though at times can be very overprotective. Strengths: Guard Shell- This unique, twin-shell shield is made up of a rare metal known as Poseidium. It's nearly impenetrable and invulnerable, making it easy for Sheldon to withstand attacks. Heavy Armor Weaknesses: Metal Anchor- That is, except for one thing: the anchors of Metal Shark Player.
