Music Festivals in Summer
Summer festivals. We all heard about them, we all love them. But, do you know what it’s really like? Let me introduce some of my favorites!
Tumblr media
Firstly, these festivals are a bit different kinds of music festivals. It’s organized by motor clubs. They called motor meetings, and the point is to go there with a motor or to love them and rock music. They make unique, wild programs, which shouts rock and roll! There are tents all over the camping place, and sometimes they have pools, food stalls, showers and toilets between them. Of course, every festival is different, but it’s true in general. And every festival has one thing in common. The stage. My favorite festivals were the Griff Motorcycle Gathering and Gerjen Motorcycle Gathering, both in Hungary.
Tumblr media
In Griff, we went to Tiszaföldvár, and the camping was the biggest from all the festivals I’ve been through. It had about five pools and different types of food stalls. They served breakfast but only till 11am. After that, you couldn’t get breakfast-type food. You could get food for a good price and from almost everywhere, but if you were unsatisfied, a bunch of supermarkets were nearby. Before the concerts started, there were fun programs, like volume competition, wet tshirt competition, shouting competition, skill competitions, so you wouldn’t get bored soon. And the concerts. They started pretty soon, about 6pm each day, and most of the bands were pretty famous in Hungary. And it was a cheap price to pay to see those bands. The event lasted for 4 wonderful days.
Tumblr media
The other meeting was in Gerjen, the Danube Rock Festival. It was a smaller one. It didn’t have a pool nor many food stalls, but it had a family atmosphere. But the bands were as good as in the bigger ones. To be exact, 4 bands performed in both places. It was near the river danube, so we could go and swim there with friends. There were cheap pubs nearby and at the place, there was a big beer tent. Under that there were so many tables and a beer bench, everyone was under the tent and it made it special. There were smaller music groups who could perform between the big stage performances, so music was all over the place every time. And of course, the volume competition was held too.
Tumblr media
These festivals are great because no one cares about who you are and where you are from, you are connected with them by the music you listen to and by your usual activities.

Gossip Girl (2007)
"Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite."
If you saw an episode or two, you gotta be familiar with this sentence. Back in the 2010’s, everyone watched the famous series. I mean, who doesn’t just love drama? Well, you have 6 seasons, all together 121 episodes (, each of them is minimum 40 mins) for that. Something’s always happening, and there’s always a blogger (aka Gossip Girl), who can inform us about the latest news, scandals, commotions, etc.
Tumblr media
We have 5 main characters, Daniel Humphrey (according to Gossip Girl: Lonely Boy), Serena van der Woodsen (S/”It Girl”), Blair Waldorf (B/Queen B), Chuck Bass (C) and Nate Archibald (Golden Boy). They are mostly the target of Gossip Girl’s posts, who’s been following their lives since the characters got into high school. One person started it; however, everyone could send tips and blasts about everyone. So basically, it makes everyone the Gossip Girl as they all the part of the posting. Because of this, Gossip Girl has eyes in everywhere. Later on, the original maker of the website disappears, and another character starts to post as Gossip Girl 2.0, then the character passes it to another, which leads to Gossip Girl 3.0. Not so far from this, the original Gossip Girl takes back their website.
Tumblr media
In the final season, we get a reveal on the real Gossip Girl, until that we don’t even have a clue. Gossip Girl 2.0 and 3.0 was known, but the OG Gossip Girl’s existence is a secret. Let me tell you, dear reader, it is indeed a plot twist. Too bad I knew it all along, because I watched the Netflix’s ‘Emily in Paris’, and they spoiled it… They must have been doing that on purpose, since Gossip Girl is on HBO Max… But seriously, don’t believe my word, I was just joking around. (Or was I?).
Tumblr media
Something's always happening around the main characters, it is certainly hard to catch up on the plot, because everyone’s with everyone then no one’s with no one, one relationship starts to bloom then the other is falling apart. The good thing about old school series is that they are the original versions so it’s hard to guess the plot. It’s not a typical plotline, okay-okay, you can always guess that the 2 main relationships are gonna somehow make it to the end, even if it’s a rough road. But that’s all, all the other things are remains as Gossip Girl’s many secrets. Until I can say more,

"And who Am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO Gossip Girl"

60's/70's rock music - British Invasion
The 60's most popular British rock band: The Beatles. Sounds familiar, right? Well, if it's not, please, keep reading, because let me tell you: you live under a rock!
Tumblr media
The Beatles was formed in 1960, and even after 60 years later, we still listen to it, we still love it and it is still inspiring us. But we were not the only one! In the early 60's, the Beatles got so famous, that even though they lived and started their carrier in England, their fame soon enough went abroad: straight to the United States! They went to the U.S.A., and got more and more fans, became unbelievable famous, icons of a movement. This was the so called "Beatlemania". The younger generation wanted something else, something other than the typical music of the period, so when the rebellious, new directional music popped up, they were head over hills about this music.
Tumblr media
Learning from the Beatles's fame, more and more British rock band tried their luck and went to the U.S.A., in hope of getting famous. This era was in the early 60's till the 70's. This is how The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and later the Pink Floyd became hot. Because of their origins, the fact that they came from the Brit land, they named this era "The British Invasion". All of them was inspired by the U.S.'s Rock n' Roll music, and incited the people to revolt. These bands ruled the radio, their songs were in the top 100 hot music all the time.
If I mention the hippie counterculture, the Beatles, Beatpop music, peace and love, the 69's Woodstock festival should pop up in our minds. These younglings shared the same mentality as the bands mentioned above, they spoke from their feelings and they kept it alive for a long time.
Tumblr media
Nowadays mostly the people born in that generation, who grew up on this music remembers and listens to it, although there's hope and people still listen and makes rock music, and as they say:
rock music never dies!
Now, please listen to some pretty cool songs from the bands above.
