where's that text post about how when you relisten to an album a bunch of times that's when you really start to appreciate it, and that's the music seeping into your brain
okay so i don't know how popular of a take this is, but HEAR ME OUT HEAR ME OUT. dirt is widely regarded as aic's best album, and i don't disagree with that statement because that album is, let's be real, a fucking powerhouse of an album, but tbh,,,,, i honestly think facelift is on the same level?? because dirt has the power and emotion and the fact that it's like one of The Albums of the decade, but facelift has variety and artistry and is like literally one of the best debut albums i've ever heard in my LIFE. you start with some insane power songs (we die young, sea of sorrow, and of course man in the box), and then it gives us shit like love, hate, love?? one of the most haunting and emotional raw songs in their entire discography?? and then it ends with songs like i know somethin (bout you) and real thing and it just fucking grooves, man!!! like, there's not a single skip on facelift for me. i can and will sing straight through it. AND IT'S THEIR DEBUT ALBUM, I CANNOT GET OVER THAT. LIKE??? FUCK YEAH, FACELIFT
โI remember one particular night at LโAmour in Brooklyn, which was one of the most classic metal/hard rock venues that anyone could ever play in New York City. Izzy got totally drunk downing beers backstage while we were waiting to go on. But he remained cool in his own wayโIzzy was always funny like that. That night he let on like nothing was wrong, spending the entire show sitting on the tiny ledge between the top and bottom cabinet of his rig. It was hilarious to watch.โโSlash (excerpt from his autobiography)
