Just imagine Douxie seeing Jim in the Daylight armor at some point and going, "Look... sorry about the armor, mate. I TRIED to get him to make it cool, I promise I tried, but you know what Merlin's like-" Jim, precious nerd that he is, "You- you don't think my armor's cool? :'(" Douxie, desperately backpedaling as Claire and Toby both round on him with murder in their eyes, "Now hold on a mo'!"

The question I’ve been asked the most for this AU is if Jim will still be friends with Toby? Hmmm, yeah he will. Not without mishaps though. 

After Blinky calms down and stops being a stick in the mud, Jim gets to hang out with Toby more and even introduces Toby to his Troll guardians. Aw. :D

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but go for it. Villain it up.”

I truly, honestly, and most sincerely have no idea what prompt list this is from (no matter how hard I looked), but sure. I’ll just write a short little something for it.

Well, this was a battle they were losing. Fast.

Toby’s been put out of commission (thankfully, not dead), which Claire had to attend to by portaling away, only for a stray Gumm-Gumm to wind up being on the other side. Blinky dealt with it. Two knocked out allies later, Jim Lake Jr. is hellbent on killing as many Gumm-Gumms as he can - but it’s not going to be enough if he wants to find Gunmar as soon as he can and kill him once and for all.

But, he remembers, he has a secret weapon.

After roundhouse-kicking a possessed Changeling into the ground, Jim runs off into a secluded alley. Though his troll fingers aren’t exactly compatible with mobile phones, he isn’t going to be using his, anyway. He commands the amulet of something, and it responds to him with a light hum.

It begins to vibrate for a few seconds before stopping.

Huh. The gem actually worked.

“Hello?” says a gruff voice on the other end of the… ‘call’.

He takes in a deep breath.

“Bulaaar, heeeey.” Awkward start.

“Ah. Trollhunter. What is it,” the troll flatly asks. What’s he doing? There’s something that sounds like static in the background-

“Wait, are you at my house? Watching my TV?”

“Avoiding the question, whelp.”

“Ugh. Fine.” Jim coughs. “Gunmar. Invasion. Eternal Night.”

“I- E-Excuse me?!” 

“Yep.”

“IT’S HAPPENING NOW, AND NONE OF YOU BOTHERED TO TELL ME?!” Bular screams in trollish. Jim winces from the volume.

“Yeah. Um. You didn’t notice? …so, you… gosh, damn it. You said you wanted to help, right?”

Bular huffs. “Oh, I will, VERY gladly.”

“Oookay then. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but go for it. Villain it up.”

The call ends there.

A few minutes later, an astounded Gunmar is staring at his son, alive and well, and on the opposing side, tearing through his army.

Toby’s friendship manual really did the trick, huh?

something @crispy-jim​‘s post made me realize: Bular changed up the skulls on his belt some time in the last 900 years. He goes from human skulls:

To changeling skulls, possibly as an intimidation tactic to keep the Janus Order in line:

They can’t be troll skulls since full trolls turn entirely to stone when they die and if they have an internal skeletal system, we don’t see it. Whereas we get quite the eyeful of the Janus Orde, who unquestionably leave skeletons behind (including some with still-human-looking skulls, though not all):

Which brings me to my next question: why does the Arcane Order have a changeling skull?

Better question: Where did Gunmar get the changeling skulls seen here? Were changelings originally created to infiltrate Gumm-Gumm lairs, and some got caught?

Best question: wtf?

I would suggest that maybe it was artificially constructed for the aesthetic, except I suspect whoever once owned this skull also once owned this hand:
