Her tunes 'Royals' and 'Tennis' have been on heavy rotation in Rocks HQ for a while and last week she hit the number one spot in the UK charts and amassed a huge 7 million Soundcloud plays... Oh yeah, did we mention she’s 16 years old?

Rocks Introducing: Wolf Alice
The latest addition to the impressive Chess Club records roster North London four piece Wolf Alice are setting the new music world alight at the moment being named ones to watch by The Fly, championed by Radio 1 new music don Zane Lowe and featured in this weeks NME… Checking in to see them at Camden's Dingwalls last night to see just what all the fuss was about we weren't disappointed.
From having followed the Londoners for a little while now the sound of Wolf Alice appears to have undergone a radical transformation in 2013. Having started out life making harmony fuelled pop-folk music with an almost blues-rock edge as a trio on their debut E.P it sounds to us (with the addition of a new band member) there was a point in the rehearsal room where they turned the amps up to 11 and never looked back. If this show was anything to go by the new sound of Wolf Alice is louder, heavier and in your face yet somehow still manages to retain some of that folky sense of atmosphere. 100% ones to watch in 2014 we'd love to see them on the Rocks stage!

Rocks Introducing : Darlia
Darlia only appeared on the Rocks radar a couple of months ago but already, with their brand of fast paced punk rock, have become one of our favourite bands of the moment.
Breaking out of Blackpool the trio of Nathan Day, Dave Williams and Jack Bentham are frequently compared to Nirvana (probably due to Day's bleach blonde hair and tendency for a black and white photograph) but we think their sound is more a cross between Kurt Cobain's outift, Birmingham indie rockers Peace and newcomers Splashh
Talked up already by the NME, Zane Lowe and Fearne Cotton on Radio 1 as well as heading out on tour with Deap Vally and The Family Rain before the end of the year expect these guys to be blaring from radios and festival speakers next summer for sure

Snow Angel Guide to Meribel
Rocks the Snow has teamed up with the SnowAngels (the ultimate mountain restaurant and apres ski guide) to give you lowdown on what Meribel has to offer slope side. Check out their insider tips on the ultimate après experiences....
You have to start at La Folie Douce, just below the Saulire lift. Hardly an insider tip, but let's face it - there's a reason we all go here. With the party starting nice and early, it's the perfect place to kick off your evening and experience the Rolls Royce of straight from the slopes après. Once you’ve heard the daily cabaret, it's time to ski/slide down to the Ronnie. There's a 4-5pm happy hour here, live bands, and a fantastic, up-for-it atmosphere. Don't be surprised if you're crowd surfing by 6pm. Alternatively head down into Meribel Village and set up camp at the Lodge du Village, or LDV. The legendary shots of toffee vodka make a great change from jagerbombs. There's a 4-6pm happy hour here too, a sun terrace for blue sky days, live music, free wifi and big screens showing 24/7 sport. And if you're ready for food, these guys know how to do pizzas. They're huge and cheap too by Meribel standards. After dark this place really goes off, so don't be surprised if you wake up the next morning wearing someone else's clothes, wondering where on earth you left your other ski boot and your dignity.
If you’re in the market for after dinner après head to the legendary Dicks Tea Bar, things get messy here until the early hours. Make sure you get here early though, you don't want to be freezing your ass of queuing in the cold. Doors open at 11pm. If you didn’t take an earlier food stop or you’re in the market for an end-of-the-night dirty food hit, then there’s a Pizza Express in here too – winner! If you're on a tighter budget head to Mountain Burger, near the Sherpa supermarket, their signature blue cheese and bacon burger is less than 5€. For more après ski info hit them up at www.snowangel.co.uk

Rocks Summer 2013 - Our biggest summer ever!
By Abby (@dressupshow)

Where do you even begin to sum up the highlights of a season that’s included The Vaccines, Professor Green and Biffy Clyro? How can you hope to single out one defining moment of 2013 when you’ve been confronted with the shameless strutting of Liam Gallagher, the endless energy of Rizzle Kicks and the effortless enthusiasm of Zane Lowe? It’s a tough one, but someone’s got to do it. Ibiza Rocks 2013 has been 16 weeks of blindingly brilliant music that’s had the White Isle rocking-and-a-rolling every Wednesday and Friday night. 16 weeks of live acts, some of the best music around, and some of the worst dance moves you’re ever likely to see, all at the same venue. 2013 is a year that I, and every other Rocks-goer of this year, won’t be forgetting in a hurry.

So let’s start at the beginning. Jake Bugg, the straight-talking, crazily gifted teenager from Nottingham, kicked off the season in blistering style way back in June. His unique style of folk combined with rock had the crowd mesmerised. Then there was Tinie Tempah, who guarantees a sell out every time he performs. People got excitable, sweaty and ever so slightly lightheaded in the presence of East London’s favourite pop star, dancing like loons and providing one of ‘the’ moments of the season by collectively going mental to ‘Pass Out’. Chase and Status gave us a well-needed injection of drum’n’bass, giving the kind of intense performance that leaves you unable to sleep at night, and CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers was undoubtedly a summer, if not, an Ibiza, highlight. There’s nothing like getting your groove on to some disco underneath the Balearic stars. Mentions should also go to Dizzee Rascal who was outstanding, and London Grammar who are undoubtedly set for huge stardom.

Every Friday at W.A.R! we danced our socks off, without fail. It’s impossible not to when you’ve got Example smashing a five week residency and global superstar Idris Elba making his Ibiza debut. Rinse FM took over three dates over the summer and gave us some of the finest bass-infused electronic music around, and the HMS Bestival takeover with Shy FX and Jaguar Skills was also out of this world; never have I seen people dance so hard, for so long. Epic amounts of fun. Bondax confirmed their credentials with a fantastic set back in June, and we should tip our hats to Mistajam who’s unending gusto is as contagious as a virus, Rocks resident Doorly, who weaved his magic on the decks, week in, week out, and to Zane Lowe and Mark Ronson who gave us a stonking closing party that we’ll never forget.

So we’re left in no doubt that the 2013 has been a mind-blowing season. But for me, the one stand-out performance came from Bastille, who blew everyone away when they performed at the end of June. A band coming into their own but with an already established fan base, and some of the catchiest tunes around, made for big things at Rocks. The place went off. ‘Pompeii’ will always remind me of Ibiza and the many incredible memories that have been made here. We danced, we partied and we’d do it all again tomorrow if we could.
Who’s counting down to 2014 already?

New Beats on the Rocks Blog!
Tonight may be the last W.A.R! of 2013, but that doesn't mean the music stops. Here are some tunes that will keep you dancing deep into winter...
Hannah Wants - Butterflies
Hannah Wants creates stonking bass-filled mixtapes that would fill any W.A.R! fan with joy, and new track Butterflies with Jamie George is no different. She's graced the decks onboard the W.A.R! Ship this summer, but she's at some pretty amazing club nights too. Follow her on Twitter @hannah_wants
Sui Generis - Voodoo
Out later this month on HK Records, this infectious house tune by Sui Generis saw him DJ at festivals such as Brownstock this summer and the deep beats are tipped to keep on coming. Hit follow to hear from @wearesuigeneris first!
Dan Croll - Nowhere
One tune that got Rocks HQ in a buzz this summer is Dan Croll's tune 'Nowhere', and this remix is well and truly dancefloor friendly. We're keeping our eyes on @dancrollmusic to see what this talent does next...
