Keeping me well-behaved
Can you believe it? I’m 7 months old!!! I’m still growing and learning some tricks. Speaking of learning, thank you for being patient with me. Training me can be time consuming. I know consistency in training me is important and there are times where I might become distracted, but I really want to learn how to behave. Thank you for not being harsh when I get it wrong. Yelling at me or hitting me is not the answer. Instead you show me and give me treats when I do the right thing. You talk to me in a normal tone of voice and guide me to follow instructions. I like the chance to go to puppy training class! I get to meet other pups like me trying to learn things and also get a chance to show what I know. Coming up with short, one word commands for the behaviors helps keep my attention. Rewarding me with a yummy treat helps me know I did the right thing. I love those biscuits! As you know, my attention span is bad. Keeping my sessions short and fun has helped me keep the reinforcement going and obey the commands. Just keep using positive reinforcement and I will continue to do my best. Can’t wait for my next puppy class, I get a chance to learn how to greet other humans!

What is Pet Diabetes ?
You’ve heard of humans getting diabetes, but did you know that your pet can also have diabetes? November is National Pet Diabetes Awareness month. Diabetes is a condition that affects the concentration of glucose, or sugar, in your dog’s blood. It can occur when his/her body makes too little insulin, stops producing it completely, or doesn’t utilize insulin properly. Take time to check with your veterinarian about how you can prevent and see the signs that can help reduce the risk. Doing a general health exam, along with tests to see how healthy your pet is, will help prevent and identify the issue before it gets worse. Depending on what your veterinarian decides, you will have to monitor your pets glucose, create a diet and exercise plan, possibly give daily insulin, and have more regular checkups. It might be overwhelming for your pet at first, but with your veterinarian and your help, you can make sure your pup stays healthy and on the right track. You play a key role in making sure your pup is on track with their health. Make sure to follow the veterinarian’s instructions and monitor any changes. We love spending time with humans and we want to continue bringing fun, happiness and a smile to you, so please make sure to take care of us too!

Attempting to teach him to sit. He became distracted with his surroundings. Worth a try. Any ideas how to get him to follow the command? . . . #training #pettraining #frenchbulldog #frenchiesofinstagram #frenchbulldogworld #puppytraining #puppytrainingtips #puppytraining101 #puppyfood #followinstruction #followsteps #puppytrainingishard https://www.instagram.com/p/B06uJooAVMz/?igshid=ed563pu1st2f

First day of Pet Training Class
Dear Human,
Well done!
At first I was skeptical on going to school, but I had a pretty good time. Had a chance to meet more new pups, learn new tricks and get a new treat! I’m still growing and I appreciate you taking the time to teach me how to take care of myself and learn tricks. I know we speak two different languages, but maybe with this class we can create our own secret code. Also, I like the pack you bought me. Now they have no excuse to be out of my cookies and also my poop bags in case we are outdoors.
The Petco teacher,( name of lady) was sweet. She was patient and caring. She gave me treats as long as I followed her weird moves. I’m glad you came along with me. I was a bit nervous meeting humans and other pups. What if they are bigger than me or don’t like me? Ha! What am I saying, I’m adorable! Everyone loves me. I did see a cutie in class, hope we can be friends.
I’m glad you decided to take me to school. I am still growing and need to be taught the rules properly. Thank you for being patient and not yelling at me, those treats really encourage me to keep getting better. I’m sure there will be days that I will not be up for it, but just stick with me. Also, I’m sorry if I forget some of the things that I learn, but with your positive reinforcement and constant practice, I will be able to graduate from my class on top.
Can’t wait to go to my next class, make sure to keep me extra clean. I want to impress the ladies.
Till next time,
Rocco
