Not EXactly Finished
It’s no secret that Gravitation EX appeared to be plagued with problems during its release. Chapters were released inconsistently—sometimes with waits of months, even years—their lengths varied wildly (from 30+ pages, all the down to 3), and many looked unfinished. Luckily, when the series was released in tankoubon format, many of the art issues were fixed (though, unfortunately for many fans, the questionable plot elements remained the same). In this post, I’d like to examine some of the changes that were made between the initial web releases and the tankoubon version, and see if we can even pin down the time when Murakami was feeling the biggest time crunch based on how unfinished her work was. (image heavy, so click below to read all about it)

Title: Gravitation
Sequel: Gravitation EX
Anime: Gravitation, Gravitation OVA
Author: Murakami Maki
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Shounen Ai
Synopsis[baka-updates]: Shuichi Shindou is determined to take his band Bad Luck to the top of the Japanese pop charts. With his drive, talent, and satiny singing voice, he just might stand a chance. But Fate throws a wrench into his well-oiled machine in the form of a handsome stranger named Yuki, a romance writer with an attitude. Yuki is Shuichi's biggest critic, but as the two young artists gravitate towards each other, friendship, and perhaps something more, is sure to blossom.
