Mijas grandfather, a poor farmer comes through the scenes of the promise he made to her dead parents. Mijas grandfather tells her to give her lovely pig to the company.Mija runs away to New York and finds that her lovely pig Okja, being loaded in a truck which is run by an animal liberation front. Mija breaks her companion out of the truck and rides her through the streets of Seoul. The wild chase is thrilling and emotional with the heart touching bond between Mija and Okja.

At the end, Mija saves the life of Okja by replacing her with another golden pig
