my fae got to keep their wings this time, but they have feathers now to both symbolize their new freedom to better control their own story as well as to highlight that they have no true escape since the wings are too small to fly with, which is why they got to keep them in the first place. it's also to contrast their descent into revenge, operating for a sickening force that they've identified within themselves rather than anything divine, thereby twisting their story's definition and view of an angel. is this normal???
