Hey guys! After almost a year full of many things, like learning 3d modeling, moving, woodcarving, 3d printing, cycling, climbing 🎥⚒🤓🧗🏼🚣🏼‍♂️🚵🏼… I finally found enough time and energy to prepare this sculpture called “eternal renew II” 🌱 .   It was quite a while since last one ^^ .  I also added a couple of pictures of the sculpting process 🙂 . Molding and casting was also a challenge, but in the end my setup did it pretty well.     This sculpture is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of 60 copies.           https://romainvandenbogaert.com/boutique/eternal_renew_2/

My first jewel - the Nebula brooch - will be available today, from 12:00 (French time UTC+2) as a signed and numbered limited edition. I've been tempted to create a jewel for a while, and this little face was the perfect occasion to create an elangant and simple brooch. The blue pigment is a metaphor of water and cycles of life. "The Archivist on the run" resin cast will be available on June 25, 2019 from 00:00 (French time UTC+2) 👹👹

A quantity of resin casts have been pre-produced for this new release and can ship immediately. If the number of casts rapidly exceeds the existing inventory, it will take approximately 3-5 weeks for the remaining orders to be fulfilled. Orders will be fulfilled in the order they are received.

The design, sculpture and production are carrefully done by hand in Romain's studio.

"The archivist one the run" appeared as I began to review some of my old sculptures desplayed in my studio, notably the "Archivist demon". The design of this character started long ago after a hike in the south of France. During this hike I fall in love with a very old stone sculpture. This old relic was depecting a cherub reading a book. This sculpture was strongly affected by weathering and time. The weathered and cracked limestone gave a weird but still reassuring and mischievious look to the cherub sculpture. The image stuck in my mind and I created this character not so long after I came back to the studio. I recently wanted to deepen the story of this character and make he looks more alive. This time I depicted him wandering, lost in his dreamish thoughts.

Make your own tools. 🌳🌳 When I teach, I strongly recommend more than everything to create your own tools. They are one of the most important part of you and your style. They are the direct relation between body and brain, between the concept and the physical result of your actions in the 3 dimensional space. I carved those tools in hard wood (buxus) I collected during hikes in the south of France. I will teach in Italy in May (pescara) and France in June.
