dobie couldn't believe it.

he glanced at the new recruit as she approached him. she was all WIDE EYES and big heart, and it was already giving him a headache. it was less of the fact that she was a bunny and more of the fact that he was about to RETIRE. soon.

he didn't know if many people knew what it was like, being a detective. it's a job that weighed on you, a little more everyday, until it was time to put it all down. he was t h i s c l o s e to making it there without incident, and now, a rookie was being thrown at him -- a rookie that, by the looks of it, was a little too eager to get into some trouble.

bogo must be playing some practical joke, he thought, setting me up like this.

"i know what bogo said," he grumbled as he stood from his chair (something else that was getting harder and harder to do) and turned to face this new bunny cop. she was actually b o u n c i n g with energy. he sighed, grabbing his coat. "let's hit the road, kid."

@everylore gets a plotted starter from Judy (for Dobie) !

   Being a rookie hadn't discouraged her so far despite not being treated as a real cop within the ZPD. Zootopia was a great city, so Judy convinces herself there must simply be a learning curve by moving here. To an extent, she understands -- she is new, and yet with so many missing mammal cases and her graduating at the top of her class... surely her being a bunny shouldn't matter as much as they make it out to be? Judy reminded herself everyday that this was only her second week here... her moment to prove herself would come...

   And it seems today, she is given some real work. Well, kind of...

   Judy approaches Dobie, a more experienced wolf, full of nearly contagious energy at the prospect of today's agenda. Them being teamed together was random and surprising by this morning's meeting, so Bogo must have seen something in their possible teamwork.

   ❝Hi! Dobie, right?❞ Judy greets, a hand waving before it rests against her chest. ❝I'm Judy. Bogo wanted us to handle an interview together, so- you ready to head out?❞ She was bouncing on her toes where she stood; eyes were wide and ears tall with her excitement and growing impatience to get going.

petri needed glowing moss, desperately. so desperately, in fact, that she'd moved islands to have easy access to some. you see, there was this... experiment, she was working on, and the last thing she needed to complete it was (you guessed it) glowing moss.

it turns out, the island she'd been living on had no such thing -- at least, none that she could find. so you know what she decided was the next logical step? to simply MOVE somewhere that had some, of course!

she'd always heard that if you needed to move quickly, you should call a tanuki called tom nook to help you do so... and so, she had! he was very helpful (yes yes) but, to be HONEST, no amount of research could have prepared her for this endeavor.

the island was HUGE, and she felt she could e a s i l y get lost in the woods here -- so, she figured it would be best to ask a local where she could find her precious glowing moss.

that's how she found herself at raymond's door. tom had told her everyone's names and where they lived, and raymond just happened to be the closest to her -- that's why she picked him.

knock knock knock, and then -- "hello, raymond? are you home?"
