For Danror headcanons: Rorschach can pick Dan up and Dan loves it

That’s so cute; I’m just imagining Rorschach picking Dan up and Dan being like a big dog that is both surprised and very happy.

I also offer you in return: Dan can pick Rorschach up, but it’s more cat-like in the sense that sometimes it’s totally good…and other times he gets swatted in the face.

Ok... hear me out. I was discussing who would be good at playing cards, specifically poker. I believe Dan would be really bad at poker. Rorschach never learned and would probably not want to, "hurm... not a gambler." Now, on the other end, Veidt is great at poker, always having a smile you can never really read. The Comedian is good at poker because he cheats. While Adrian and Edward are at odds, trying to beat the other.

Laurie always ends up winning.

just the way that Daniel is the only one allowed to touch Ror. how Dan is the only one who seems to really understand Ror despite his peculiarities and strange manner of speaking. how immediately upon snapping at him Dan apologizes because he doesn’t actually hold anything against Ror. how he never really believed that Ror killed Moloch. how Ror considers Dan to be his friend, his only friend, and comes across as weirdly jealous of Laurie. the implications that Dan can only get it up after doing vigilante work in which Walter canonically was his partner for years and Walter being incredibly sexually repressed and closeted.

Danror headcanon: rorschach started wearing his lifts after meeting Dan and for a little Dan couldnt figure out what was different about his partner (taken from an old fic)

Also aside: for fan fic purposes have you visited the watchfic directory on live journal / dreamwidth? If you haven't it's got a lot of old stuff it's worth a check.

That's so cute! I love the mental image of Dan staring at Rorschach for way too long, trying to figure out what changed to no avail, and then finally getting it and asking Rorschach why he did that but it goes like this:

"Why are you wearing lifts in your shoes, buddy?"

"Not wearing lifts, Daniel" (His ass is wearing lifts)

So, as I was watching this scene, I noticed something: Rorschach doesn't pull away. In fact, Dan pulls away first, and Rorschach doesn't let go. Rorschach, who reacts with knee-jerk violence to most things and has lost trust in the vast majority of the world, who hates being touched, doesn't let go. Doesn't want to let go. Dan is the only person he's truly comfortable touching, even in such a minor way. He's the only one he trusts like that.
