ART BOOK
PITCH BLACK RAINBOW: THE ART OF JOHN JENNINGS $25

TWO-TIME EISNER AWARD WINNER
“What do I love about Jennings’ work? The vibrant use of color, the kinetic sense of motion even in static portraits like ‘Wildseed Lion,’ the sense of strength and playfulness in the compositions. Also, as Tananarive Due says in her introduction, 'A survey of Jennings’ art is a survey of black popular and political life,’ including African American superheroes. Also, it’s just damn beautiful work.”
—Jeff VanderMeer
BOOKS
AMERICAN CANDIDE by Mahendra Singh $5
“American Candide makes fun of modern culture’s obsession with money and the calamities politics get us into. At the same time, it reminds us that too often US citizens sanction their actions and values with the over repeated attitude of Americans’ 'superiority.'”
—Pop Matters
THE ASSIMILATED CUBAN’S GUIDE TO QUANTUM SANTERIA by Carlos Hernandez $10
"Hernandez’s witty, insightful debut collection of 12 short stories pushes the boundaries of speculative fiction.”
—Publishers Weekly (STARRED REVIEW)
“Funny, smart, and fierce, these stories are a breath of fresh air in a tightly constricted world.”
—Christopher Barzak
THE END OF THE WORLD IS RYE by Brett Cottrell $10
“The End of the World Is Rye is a top-notch urban fantasy. Funny and sharp, it doesn’t choke a good story in whimsy. Fans of Preacher and Sandman will have a great time with this one.”
—Garrett Cook, Time Pimp
FUTURE FICTION: NEW DIMENSIONS IN INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY ed. by Bill Campbell and Francesco Verso $10
“If you’ve been looking for a superb collection of speculative fiction from around the world; fiction that interrogates humanity’s technological, moral, and, evolutionary trajectory; fiction that doesn’t hesitate to probe our darkest fears and secret desires—if you’ve been looking for something like that, then I’m happy to say that you’re in luck.”
—Strange Horizons
INK by Sabrina Vourvoulias $10
“Tight-paced and surreal, Ink paints a dystopian vision in which the American dream morphs into an immigration nightmare. Weaving the fantastical with the everyday, Vourvoulias tells a story as unsettling as it is timely. A resonant, indelible novel.”
—Jhumpa Lahiri
MOTHERSHIP: TALES FROM AFROFUTURISM AND BEYOND ed. by Bill Campbell and Edward Austin Hall $15
“In this wildly varied collection designed to showcase multiculturism, diversity, and characters of color in genre fiction, editors Campbell (Koontown Killing Kaper) and Hall (Chimera Island) bring together 40 authors to create an experience that’s both eye-opening and unpredictable…a provocative, entertaining, and vital anthology that accomplishes its mission.”
—Publishers Weekly
FEATURING THE WORKS OF: N.K. Jemisin, Victor LaValle, Lauren Beukes, Daniel José Older, Carmen Maria Machado, S.P. Somtow, Eden Robinson, Sofia Samatar, and much, much more!
THE SEA IS OURS: TALES OF STEAMPUNK SOUTHEAST ASIA ed. by Jaymee Goh and Joyce Chng $10
“The tropes and trappings of steampunk alternate history bind together this exciting anthology of stories set in and inspired by the broadly defined region of Southeast Asia (SEA).”
—Publishers Weekly (STARRED REVIEW)
SUNSHINE PATRIOTS by Bill Campbell $10
“Rastafarian science fiction!”
—Darius James
“A real page-turner, and very thought provoking besides. I didn’t want to put this one down. Every scene played out before me like a movie.”
–Aphelion Review
STORIES FOR CHIP: A TRIBUTE TO SAMUEL R. DELANY ed. by Nisi Shawl and Bill Campbell $15
“It’s only fitting that Stories for Chip, an anthology honoring professional polymath Samuel R. Delany would feature a ridiculous variety of stories. It’s also only fitting that they would be inventive, incisive, and filled with joy.”
—Leah Schnelbach, tor.com
FEATURING THE WORKS OF: Junot Diaz, Kim Stanley Robinson, Nalo Hopkinson, Nick Harkaway, Michael Swanwick, Eileen Gunn, Walidah Imarisha, and More!
TATY WENT WEST by Nikhil Singh $10
“A hallucinogenic post-apocalyptic carnival ride–Nikhil Singh has a strange and intriguing mind.”
—Lauren Beukes
THE VOICES OF MARTYRS by Maurice Broaddus $10
“The lush, descriptive prose tantalizes all the senses, drawing the reader into a rich world spanning both miles and centuries. Hints of magic in both the past and present, as well as the science fiction elements of the future stories, make this an exciting exploration of genre as well as culture.”
—Publishers Weekly (STARRED REVIEW)
“Give thanks for these griot, hip-funk, afrofuturist stories of pure horror and complicated hope. Broaddus sounds a deep beat in this true myth of survival: what our heads forget, our bones remember.”
—Karen Lord
GRAPHIC NOVELS
BLUE HAND MOJO: HARD TIMES ROAD by John Jennings $10
“Blue Hand Mojo is a delicious, riveting blend of steamy noir and conjure-man hoodoo mayhem. Utterly brilliant.”
—Daniel José Older
“Magic, murder, and Mississippi mud. Blue Hand Mojo is a comic book unlike anything you’ve been reading.”
—Justin Jordan
GHOST STORIES by Whit Taylor $10
“Smart, poetic, and deeply personal, Whit Taylor’s stories of love and loss sneak up and take hold of you.”
—Sophie Goldstein
“This is a book full of sweet and sorrowful longing, both an easy pleasure and a powerful emotional force.”
—Carolyn Nowak
THE HOOKAH GIRL by Marguerite Dabaie $5
“Marguerite Dabaie navigates the swirling confluence of Palestinian heritage and American culture in these proud, poignant, and humorous stories of her upbringing.”
—Joe Sacco
“This is a book that, like its author, refuses to squeeze itself into a box: full of heartbreak and humor, history and pride.”
—Sarah Glidden
THE LITTLE BLACK FISH by Bizhan Khodabandeh $5
“The storytelling, the design, the art, letters, and color on Bizhan Khodabandeh's Little Black Fish all stood out to me immediately as something really worth spending time with. This is his first comic I am told. I am impressed. It is a beautiful story. Anyone with a love of comics would do well to pay attention.”
—Farel Dalrymple

Throwback to one of our older comics - Manticore by Keith Miller and Ian Gabriel!
“The Aryan race warrior. A Colombian drug lord. A Korean hit man. A career stick-up man.
The wrong guy at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The puke Cho-mo-kiddy-toucher.
And you!
This ain’t the Breakfast Club and these are ain’t your new friends. Welcome to the Protective Housing Unit (PHU), home to some of world’s worst criminals—many of whom so reviled they must not only be shielded from the American public, but the general prison population. This is your new life.
Simon, a white-collar criminal, is a new transfer to Pensacola Federal Prison Camp. He’s having a hard time adjusting to prison culture, and his newfound “friends” aren’t all that interested in making his new life any easier. Everyone in the PHU has his own agenda; alliances are, at best, temporary; and even the notion of friendship is laughable. But all that is about to change. This brutal yet familiar life they’ve all grown accustomed to is about to come to an end as a mysterious stranger is transferred to their unit and these hardened inmates start to die… Horribly.
One at a time.”
Rosarians in the Wild

This past weekend, Dutch author, Corinne Duyvis, and Dutch artist, Aimée de Jongh, met for the first time in Amsterdam. Here, Aimée is holding up her illustration for Corinne's story, "The Applause of Others," which will appear in SUNSPOT JUNGLE, VOL. 1.

“Taty Went West” by Nikhil Singh from Rosarium Publishing
Taty is a troubled teen running away from home. She quickly finds herself kidnapped by a malicious imp in the dinosaur-infested Outzone. While confronting demons of her own, Taty finds herself in a chaotic world full of evangelizing robot nuns, Buddhist punks, and the ominous Dr. Dali. Nikhil Singh has created a truly unique universe with a bold, petulant heroine one can't help but cheer for. Called "a hallucinogenic post-apocalyptic carnival ride" by Lauren Beukes, Taty Went West is told with bold swagger and otherworldly imagination by one of Africa's most promising new writers. As Billy Kahora, managing editor of Kenya's Kwani Trust, says, "Savvy, ultra-modern, Taty straddles the mediated realities of our own continent and the groundbreaking possibilities of our ongoing universal imaginaries."

THE HOOKAH GIRL AND OTHER TRUE STORIES
By Marguerite Dabaie
In this current political climate, being a Palestinian is a hazard. However, there are common grounds where East meets West. The Hookah Girl is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel of a childhood as a Christian Palestinian in America. Told in short stories and with narrative ranging from growing up in a refugee family to how to roll waraq (stuffed grape leaves), this book is an account of living in two seemingly different cultures that actually aren’t very different at all.
