About the top picture: A photo of a ukrainian cosplayer by the name of Olya Gussy  who posed in several photographs as Betty Boop in which went viral and has been seen by millions of people on the internet where the photo has been mistaken as Baby Esther and/or Helen Kane. The reason as to why the photoshoot of Oyla was mistaken for Baby Esther was because HelloBeautiful’s Lifestyle Editor Danielle Young posted the photo of the “white” ukrainian cosplayer (the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game) dressed up as Betty Boop and claimed it was Baby Esther without researching the origin of the photograph, which made people believe the photograph was actually “Baby Esther”, and also lead people to believe Betty Boop was of mixed-race heritage/Mulatto.

So the nintendo dream poll is out of the most popular galar trainers! Of course our lovely Raihan takes the number 1 spot! I’m so proud of our selfie loving historian/dragon gym leader

Leon and his brother Hop take the number 2 and 3 spots respectively and I’m just so happy for the Postwick Brothers (especially considering how divisive the two are in the western fandom at least).  Also big props for the top 3 characters in this poll being POC! As someone who has been with thte fandom since Gen 1 (and a POC myself) it’s nice to see the top 3 all being POC and how a third of the entire list is POC (Leon, Raihan, Nessa, Hop and Peony). The POC rep was amazing this gen (and honestly the entire cast) and I’m just glad they’ve been well received

I have to give a shout out to my man Kabu though taking the number 5 spot. He’s my favorite gym leader of Galar and my second favorite character after Leon and I’m so happy he polled so well.

Also another shout out to Victor and Gloria ranking so high for protagonists characters! And lastly my man Avery beat out Klara!? I love it, man Avery gets so little love in the western fandom but I just adore him and his pokemon move puns. I’m so happy to see he’s well received.
