Meet Jewel Collins, Stacy’s bratty, insecure, and (somewhat) mean-spirited younger sister. 

She is also the captain of her middle school’s cheerleading squad and Louie’s ex-girlfriend. Jewel, being spoiled, self-centered, arrogant, and delusional, sees herself as the princess, the diva, and “The Crown Jewel” of her school because of her name. However, she’s not as well-liked as her sister, Stacy, and Chrissy (Stacy’s best friend), much to Jewel’s chagrin. Instead, Jewel is feared and hated by almost everyone at her school, including Fred, Whoopee, Betty, Harry, Stewie, Luna, Mandy, Sue, and Peggy. Even Chuck, Moe, Bobby, Donny, and Simon think she’s bad news, especially after Louie took her back for a short while.

Jewel loves being the center of attention and would use her looks, and “wealth”, to get what she wants. If not, she would get angry and throw a hissy fit until she gets her way. She would never take no for an answer. Jewel also loves to create drama and spread gossip around the school. Other than being the spoiled attention seeker, she is always the jealous type, whether another girl is “prettier” than her or is seen talking to her then boyfriend (Louie). It’s also clear that Jewel would do whatever she can to make other people’s lives difficult, but she always gets her comeuppance in the end for her awful behavior, mostly from the Disrespectoids. 

She hates the Disrespectoids because she thinks they’re a group of freaks who don’t meet the criteria of society. She even dumped Louie as soon as she saw that her then-boyfriend became one of those mutants after poking holes at the bottom of a Capri Sun pouch. However, the Disrespectoids feel indifferent towards her as they consider her as the most annoying, self-centered, condescending person in the world. They also think that she’s a terrible girlfriend to Leaky Louie and a bad sister to Stacy, who is well acquainted with the Disrespectoids (including Sousaphone Simon, whom Stacy has a crush on), much to Jewel’s annoyance.

Meet Stacy Collins, Chrissy’s best friend and fellow cheerleader.

She’s considered the second prettiest girl in her (graduating) class, as well as the prettiest girl in band class. Although she’s a cheerleader and one of the pretty and popular girls at school, Stacy is actually a very shy and awkward 15-year-old girl with a sweet, soft-spoken personality. She, just like her best friend, (Chrissy Bennett~the lovable “Alpha Chick”), has always been sought after by many boys, including the older ones. However, Stacy never showed any interest in those boys because she did not think they would treat her the way she wanted to be treated (like a human being instead of a girl who has a pretty face, silky blonde hair, and a thick, curvy hourglass figure). Instead, she only has her eyes set on Simon, whom she’s had a huge crush on since they were in the 7th grade, even before and after he became Sousaphone Simon. But, she’s too shy to approach him, not knowing that he secretly likes her as well. 

Whenever they try to interact with each other, things just get a bit awkward between them. Simon stutters and breaks out in a cold sweat, and Stacy nervously giggles as she plays with a lock of her hair. Eventually, the young, awkward couple attended a few middle school dances together, and Simon and Stacy were named “The Cutest Couple” for their 8th grade superlative and voted “prom king and queen” at their 8th grade formal. During their freshman year of High School, Simon and Stacy’s mutual feelings towards each other persisted, despite the obstacles they encountered. Their peers, including Simon’s close friends and Stacy’s three best friends (Chrissy, Margot, and Aaron), have been secretly rooting for the band geek (Simon) and the blonde cheerleader (Stacy) to get together at some point. During homecoming season, Simon asked Stacy to their school’s annual homecoming dance and she said yes. 

Stacy is well-acquainted with the Disrespectoids because she thinks they’re a group of amazing people who are accepting of others no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they’re from. Some of them are students from Stacy’s old middle school, while Simon (the oldest and tallest member of the group, and Stacy’s crush) attends the same high school as her. Stacy was very forgiving towards Simon for sneaking up on his rival Susie to sabotage her (Susie’s) tuba by dropping his Capri Sun pouch into it. This act transformed him into Sousaphone Simon as punishment for disrespecting the pouch. 

The first time Stacy saw Simon in his Disrespectoid form was on the day he disrespected the Capri Sun pouch after Stan (the band leader) put him in second place behind his rival Susie (another tuba player in the school’s marching band). Stacy was at cheerleading practice with Chrissy and Aaron (one of Chrissy’s two other best friends) when she heard a loud clanging sound and running footsteps across the school’s gym. Stacy, believing that it might have been Simon, excused herself from cheerleading practice to go check out what the issue was. She ran into a couple of Simon’s bandmates (both of whom are his closest friends) outside of the school’s bathroom. They told her that Simon was a little freaked out about his prank on Susie that went terribly wrong. 

After Simon was able to calm down from having a panic attack over the results of his disrespect towards the pouch during band practice, he came out of the bathroom. Simon was horrified when he ran into Stacy, not wanting his crush to see him like that. Stacy was shocked to see Simon with his neck being freakishly long and taking on the shape of a sousaphone, but her response to his new appearance blind-sided Simon. Stacy did not care about Simon’s physical appearance nor about his father’s legacy as the former tuba player at their school’s marching band. She truly likes him for who he is and doesn’t mind if he’s a band geek, mutated or not. As she approached him, she gently stroked Simon’s metallic brass neck. Anxious, Simon could feel his heart pounding from his chest all the way up through his long horn neck during this encounter, but he was relieved to find out that Stacy was accepting of him, regardless of whether or not he is one of the Disrespectoids.

Meet Chrissy Bennett, the gorgeous, popular cheerleader in Simon’s high school. 

Chrissy is the same age as Simon and, because of her undeniably natural beauty, is considered the prettiest girl in her graduating class. She is also the girl of nearly every guy’s dream; even Louie has developed a huge crush on her since he first met her as his sister’s babysitter. Despite her popularity, her natural beauty, and her sassy, confident demeanor, Chrissy (being the daughter of the newly elected superintendent) never truly cared so much about her social status. Instead, she cares more about school, her family and friends, her babysitting job, and cheerleading, thus making her the sweet, down-to-earth popular girl.

Chrissy is said to be of Bajan (Barbadian) descent with a spicy Brazilian flare to her character. She does not take flack from anyone, especially when someone would dare try to tell her what she can or cannot wear, or tried to mess with her friends. She’s always willing to stand up for herself, her family, and her friends, including the Disrespectoids, with whom she and her BFF Stacy are well-acquainted. For example, Chrissy knew that Simon, one of her classmates in high school, dropped a Capri Sun pouch into Susie’s tuba during band practice and became Sousaphone Simon as punishment for his disrespect to the pouch. She has been very supportive of her BFF Stacy liking Simon since middle school and encouraged her to give him some time to calm down before she (Stacy) could approach him (in his Disrespectoid form, that is). 

Another example is that Chrissy became well acquainted with Leaky Louie, who has a huge crush on her, after they met for the first time outside of school and the night she babysat his little sister (Lily Brown). Originally, she found him to be somewhat annoying for being a bit of a show off in his middle school. She was also recovering from a breakup with her first boyfriend Johnny Goode (who moved to Detroit with his family over the summer after she graduated from middle school). So, Chrissy was not quick to moving on to another relationship at that time, but she remained civil toward the leaking class clown. That is until Louie stood up for her against 11th grade linebacker Duncan Rivera (Chrissy’s former crush from grade school) after a high school football game. 

Chrissy did not expect anything in return for her good intentions toward other people, including the Disrespectoids. Feeling grateful, she invited Louie to go to the fair with her and he excitedly accepted. She wasn’t even bothered by Louie’s water power because she grew up in Barbados and was used to being caught in the rain before moving to Pouchville with her family. When she was chaperoning her old middle school’s Winter Snow Ball dance, Chrissy comforted Louie after he broke up with Jewel Collins (Stacy’s younger sister and Louie’s ex girlfriend) for lying to him about Chrissy’s relationship status. She was also very touched by the fact that he offered to dance with her at both her high school’s homecoming dance and at his middle school’s winter dance, dubbing her “the prettiest girl in the room”. In return, Chrissy told Louie that out of all the Disrespectoids, he’s her absolute favorite.

This year, I decided to redraw my DeviantArt post because it’s one of my favorite contents from the 2023 Shipruary series. As you can see, Stacy is so deep in her feelings after receiving a good night text from Sousaphone Simon, which was very sweet. She is over the moon with the fact that her crush is thinking about her.

Sousaphone Simon and Stacy Collins

Well, folks! I would like to introduce you to a sweet fictional couple I created: Sousaphone Simon (Disrespectoids) and Stacy Collins (an original character). 

They’re the true definition of breaking societal norms that have been around for decades. The cheerleaders, in most films and tv shows, originally go for the jocks, while the geeks go for girls who are similar to them or develop a crush on the pretty girls who don’t reciprocate their crush. For example, in Kim Possible, the titular heroine was the head cheerleader at Middleton High School and began dating her best friend, Ron Stoppable, during her senior year of high school while the rest of the cheerleading squad (including Bonnie) was dating the captain of each sports team. Bonnie Rockwaller was the only fictional mean-spirited cheerleader (and alpha bitch) of the squad, who was actually kind and friendly. Tara, on the other hand, was the only cheerleader to be the stereotypical “brainless beauty”. Another example: Shelby Cummings (A Cinderella Story) was the head cheerleader who was dating the star quarterback and would often bully the unpopular students at school, including Sam Montgomery (the Cinderella of the film) and her male best friend Connor (who had a huge crush on the mean cheerleader). Shelby got dumped by her boyfriend on the night of the Halloween Homecoming dance and made out with the guy who was dressed up as Zoro, only to realize that it was nerdy Connor. Disgusted, the cruel popular cheerleader rejected him and preferred to interact with him when she would copy off his homework and exams.

In this case, Stacy (a blonde cheerleader) is a pretty and popular girl at school, but she has a huge crush on Simon, the tuba player in the school’s marching band. She’s been in love with him since the 7th grade, even before he became a Disrespectoid (Sousaphone Simon). Stacy didn’t mind that Simon was a band geek. She doesn’t care whether he’s mutated or not. This odd couple has been going against all odds during their budding relationship, overcoming multiple obstacles both in and outside of school. Most of their peers, including their friends (and the other Disrespectoids), have been secretly rooting for Simon and Stacy to get together due to their friendly interactions with each other. During the spring of 8th grade, Simon and Stacy’s classmates (including Stacy’s BFF Chrissy) nominated and voted for Simon and Stacy to be king and queen of the 8th grade prom. They were also named the “Cutest Couple” for their class superlative. Simon did not expect so many adventures with Stacy. Disrespectoids: Simon’s First Kiss (Title Card)

**This story is based off of a few prompts from @sh1n1ng_dawn_ ’s (formerly known as @bittersweet_owo) Shipruary challenge (Day 7 (Movie), Day 9 (Worried), Day 10 (Snuggle), and Day 14 (Kiss)), which I’ve posted during the month of February in 2023, featuring the SimonxStacy shipping posts.**

Synopsis:

Sousaphone Simon and Leaky Louie are on a double date with two cute cheerleaders from Simon’s school, Stacy Collins and Chrissy Bennett, respectively. Simon is feeling a bit nervous because he’s never been on a double date, nor has he been on a real date in general, let alone at a movie theater. Another thing he’s worried about is that Simon has never kissed a girl in his life, but he’s willing to take his chances in having his first kiss with Stacy, his cheerleader crush. After all, he wants to make sure that his date goes smoothly for him without any problems. As Simon tried to contemplate on how his first kiss would go, he was struck with a stomach bug. Now, he’s more worried about wanting to keep his bile from reaching towards his mouth, which could interfere with his potential love life. Will Simon be able to get a chance to have his first kiss with the girl of his dreams without gagging?
