Thirsty Thursday Miuzak: “Soulmate” by Justin Timberlake - For the past two months I have yet to find the song of summer. Until recently. JT recently dropped a new single, much to all of us’ surprise. The [Pop] superstar had just released his country-enclined album, Man of the Woods, in February 2018. This record is more on the urban contemporary, alternative R&B sound of the miuzakal spectrum. I must say I’m a bit dizzy from the sudden genre move. Again. Moreover, he usually makes us fans wait a while (an eternity, really) in between his projects. Nonetheless, the melodie’s flavour and vibe is unmistakably reminiscent of “Let the groove get in” off of his The 20/20 Experience (2013) opus. Anyone else feel that?! Cheeky lyrics, hip swinging bouncing beat. Yep, same components. The songwriting element is not as deep as, say, Mirror, but I don’t usually expect that from a summer anthem so this gets a pass – It does have the repetition bit -some might find it annoying but hey, summertime bop **shrugs Thought him and Timbo make music’s industry’s top tandem it is refreshing to just hear his chill and effortless honeyed voice alone on this one. I’ve really been into this joint lately. Thought Soulmate is about a one night stand, I look at this concept more as a forever thing. Perhaps because I found mine this summer..

Friday Fashion Insider: Brittany Xavier. She gets the insta-follow treatment for her cool Cali girl style and her effortless plays on high end with high street with a mandatory touch of vintage. Routinely decked out in sunglasses, she shows a tendency for a clever meld of preloved attire, casual affordable trendy pieces and couturier accessories. This West Coast gal likes her comfort, too. Brit (yes, we're friends like that - in my head) is often spotted wearing sneakers, from the oh-so cool Adidas Superstars to the now very coveted LV Archlight trainers by Vuitton. When she is not gracing NYFW's rows or my #streetstyle timeline, she is most definitely spotted strutting around Pasadena with her equally stylish offspring. I really enjoy her content. I think she is a gust of fresh air in a tornado of head to toe designer duds dressed influencers (no shade but shade 😎) If you haven't already , I recommend you join her 957K party @brittanyxavier. WANNA KNOW: Who is your absolute favorite fashionINSTA? Anyone you would like me to cover? Any suggestions you drool over? Beauty Test Drive - Battle of the brands, glosses edition. If you know me personally (or follow my *Instagram Stories) then you are aware of my love for lips makeup. I raided my beauty drawer and came up with two glosses that I wanted to put toe to toe (or cap to cap, rather). Today's corrivals are the {relatively} new *Pure Color Envy Paint-On Liquid LipColor* from Estée Lauder (.23 Fl. oz/7 mL C38$) vs. Annabelle's *BIGSHOW Lacquer Lip Lacquer (C$9.95) LLLLET'S GET READY TO BEAUTY RUMBLE! Note: This is not a first impressions post. These products have been on the market for a minute and I have been using them both for a while now. They the are closest two that I could find in my vanity as far as textures/functions. This is simply for comparison purposes ;)   Note #2: What works for me may not work for you and vice-versa. Opinions are like belly buttons: everybody has one :D Now that the notices are out of the way, let's get to the lippies showdown, shall we? We shall! Keeping the pucker hydrated is an crucial step towards soft-as-a-baby's-butt lips. Before I made sure to moisturize them with my LipFusionXXL plumping primer from Fusion Beauty (which I already raved about *here*). I went (back to) the BIGSHOW first. This 3-in-1 product claims to provide "the highly pigmented, saturated color of a lipstick, the lustrous finish of a gloss and the long lasting color of a stain". Hmm let's see about that. On day 1, I wore it on its own without any liner. Its glides on smoothly; the collection's vermeil (a gilded silver or bronze) shade, called Love Fiercely, is quite pigmented as I got a decent color payoff in a single swipe. The formula is great, non-sticky, non drying and after a couple of hours it leaves a splendid stain (I mean.. I had to eat..🤷🏾‍♀️) 👍🏾PROS: It smells like fruit candy! 🍭A few chemical head notes but barely detectable and very bearable. Plus this guy's lasting power is very impressive. 👎🏾CONS: While the texture is creamy and leaves a nice tint behind, it doesn't strike me as a vibrant and bold color. I went for the Pure Color Envy Paint-On Liquid LipColor a few days later. It states to boast "a Time Release Encapsulated Hyaluronic Acid" and "paints on perfectly sculpted, [...], silky-smooth lips". Slightly underwhelmed from the previous test, I wanted to try something different so I combined 311 - Scream Sexy, a cardinal red hue with my beloved Ruby Woo lipstick this time for more of an ombré look. I just tapped my finger into it, insisting on the center of my rims and glazed it across. It makes it long lasting (I had a busy day) and my brim more juicy looking. It just feels like butter on my lips when I slightly press them on after applying it. Such a soft feeling on my pout. 👍🏾PROS: This guy smells like cream soda. Moreover, its pearly finish really agrees with the matt grain of my lippy. I'm also a fan of the little speckles of glitter as they added dimension. 👎🏾CONS: Though the feel is comfortable and non-drying, I can't describe the color as a feisty one either. PRO on BOTH: The pair of them feel exceptionally light on my lips. Additionally, each of the two's consistencies are very smooth to the touch. CON for BOTH: I would have liked a vibrant shine-y, gel-y, wet-like coating. Even a duo chrome (metallic lipstick) quality would do. These are more fitted to my mom's taste: discreet yet pigmented nonetheless. Verdict: If I had to choose one, it'd be Pure Color Envy for the win. This one is thicker therefore faintly more opaque and reflective. Moreover, BIGShow is more on the pinky side of the spectrum while EL's is more of a rich red which I personally prefer. Canada-based Annabelle's BIGShow is available in your local pharmacies' cosmetic aisle. Pure Color Envy is now available at Hudson's Bay, Nordstrom and at esteelauder.ca. There you have it Rosedolls! Another Beauty face off. What is your can't-leave-the-house-without, must-have lip adorner? Comment below👇🏾 xoxo, Deb DISCLAIMER (Note #3, I guess!): Both of these products were gifted to me at events or sent my way for review without any pressure for analysis, evaluation, critique, assessments or commentary. Thoughts/opinions are as always my own (how boring to take someone else's ;P)  SOURCES: sharecare.com, clinique.ca

Beauty Test Drive: Korres’s NEW 3D Black Pine Collection. Korres is a brand I've been using for a while now, so when they reformulated a few products from their Black Pine line, I was delighted to try them! The high-end Greek label has recently updated its groundbreaking formula thanks to its primary ingredient: Elastilift-3D™️, a powerful complex that activates LOXL (an elastin strengthener) I was also keen to find some new products to help with my fine under eye lines and dark circles, my main area of concern. I am a total night owl and with a lack of sleep come shadowy under eyes. I’ve been working on an exciting project at the moment so lucky for me {humm} t’was the right time to put this set to the test. First up is the Black Pine Super Eye Serum. It brilliantly lifts the entire eye area 360•-style, leaving it youthful, bright and fatigue-free. Like all of Korres’ advanced, botanical-based products, this item is formulated with an innovative combination of rare natural actives, including potent Black Pine extract (the star of the show⭐️🌟💫 ), the DEFEYE GRAVITY™️ COMPLEX (an active that has a distinctive lifting action on sagging eyes—especially the upper lids), as well as the brand’s breakthrough skin remodelling multiplex, the Elastilift-3D™️ (helps renew the epidermis’ elasticity. Other key 🔑 components included are a water-binding (polysaccharide) composite of tamarind seeds (smooth fine lines and wrinkles while regulating moisture and improving the skin’s texture), an oat-derived complex of sugars (provide an immediate lifting effect), Panthenol (deeply moisturizes skin and nourishes eyelashes—yay!), along with 3 types of hydrating hyaluronic acid in varying molecular weights. Packaged in a sleek dosage-control pen, the Black Pine Super Eye Serum is designed to work instantly on all areas of the eye. The eyelids, which are often ignored in skincare regimens, are front and center with this product. This part of the eyeball can show serious sign of tiredness. It works at 360 degree on the entire eye zone. I start from my under eye area and my cheeks going towards my temple before patting my inner eye corner and work my way to my lower eyelids en route to my brow line. And the best part of it is, for all of this, a little bit will do ya! This eye elixir visibly lifts my upper lids, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, while diminishing my dark circles and reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness. I did noticed a big improvement in the brightness of my under eyes. They are much less dusky, even and softer than before. Halleluyherrr. After my *Wild Rose* face serum I then follow with the 3D Sculpting Firming & Lifting Power Sleeping Facial. This guy is an intensive anti-aging cream that tightens, lifts and recontours for an effective shaping. Still powered by the ultra-concentrated Elastilift-3D™️ complex and the infamous Black Pine polyphenols (damaged skin restorers with antioxidants properties), the formula wonderfully plumps my skin by the morning. This generous jar contains natural lipid replenishes and abyssinia oil (skin regenerator), among other yummy things. The last step of my new favorite nighttime routine is the 3D Sculpting & Firming Sleeping Oil. This pup is an all around, mightily concentrated silky overnight fluid with recontouring and sustaining action. It works to visibly enhance volume by stimulating the skin’s flexibility and sturdiness. Non-comedogenic and fast absorbing, it freshens essential moisture and maintains the derma. Besides Black Pine this baby counts spilanthes acmellia (facial wrinkles reducer) extract, apricot, jojoba oil (skin conditioner), grape seed (acne treater), argan oil (skin softener & moisturizer) and sweet almond oils (skin repairer & reliever). As part of my firming ritual, depending on my skin’s needs, I either warm 2-3 drops in my fingers and give my face a nice, gentle massage. I start from the middle of my visage outwards and upwards in small circles. Its lightweight preparation is an absolute dream as it sinks in rather rapidly. For extra nourishment and glow, I sometimes mix 1-2 dribbles with the 3D sculpting emollient in the palm of my hands and apply the concoction all over my mug and neck. I love how luxurious it feels. And the entire range’s smell is so calming and comforting. Aromatherapeutic almost. My skin looks and feels amazing since incorporating these into my routine. Now, over to you! WANNA KNOW: do you already use any of these puppies? How do they work for you? Any Korres product you’d recommend? Comment below, I’m all ears (or eyes, rather!) xoxo, Deb

Every thing’s Gucci over here. The Italian brand plastered its pre-fall 2018 ad campaign murals in New York, Milan, London and Hong Kong. Every thing’s Gucci over here. The Italian brand plastered its pre-fall 2018 ad campaign murals in New York, Milan, London and Hong Kong. The murals pay homage “to 1968’s student marches and riots that began in Paris in May that year and that would end up reverberating beyond the French borders.” Immortalized by Glen Luchford’s lens, the black-and-white advert is inspired by “late Fifties’ and Sixties’ bold French NouvelleVague imagery and by radical filmmakers François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard.” Who else is humming Pink Floyd song after reading this? xoxo, Deb SOURCE: wwd.com

Friday Fashion Insider: Designer/Influencer Gilda Ambrosio - As I kissed ciao my favorite market last month, Milan Fashion Week, I had to highlight my donna style crush as today’s FFI. You’ve probably seen her, stylishly strutting around the Milanese streets..and on my IG feed. The Naples-born, now big Italian city-living fashionista is behind the DESC clothing line *Attico* (Michelangelo’s language for penthouse), a label she co-owns with her street style bestie, equally bella bellissima Giorgia Tordini. These two ladies create traffic-stopping magic down the stradas. 👯
A real stylista, Gilda counts Loewe, Chanel and Balenciaga as her go-to fashion houses. My kind of gal. This bone-straight, jet-blacked hair girl is known for effortlessly melding (blending, combining) urban styles with luxurious items. Moreover, she’s not afraid to experiment with bold colors and textures. I am a regular on her socials over @gildaambrosio. I shamelessly turned my notifications on ✅for her posts. I strongly advise you do the same for some serious style-savvy inspo.

How I protect my skin from the winter chill ❄️ Sheesh! Febrrrruary is known to be the coldest month (at least up north 🇨🇦). Winter can surely wreak havoc on a glowing complexion. Frozen temps means low humidity which equals to dull & dry skin, aggravated acne, caked-up makeup, discomfortingly tight and irritated epidermis. Eeek. In a very animated beauty-involved convo a friend asked me how I care for my dermis during the heavily frosty period. This impassioned exchange birthed this little wintertide defense regimen post. Here are a few of my go-to beauty tips and tricks as we are (finally!) getting on the last leg of winter man ⛄️ Biotherm's Biosource Daily Exfoliating Cleansing melting gel is one of my secret care weapon. Enhanced with seriously re-energizing plankton (skin conditioner) and golden algae (brightening and firming properties), the melt-on-the-skin gel dislodges impurities quickly but ever so mildly. It is surprisingly indulging for a scrub, thanks to its tiny mini micro-beads. Plus it is sensitive skin friendly! This botanical scented babe leaves my visage so fresh and so clean, clean! During my forced hibernation, I created a robust moisture barrier system. First up is my serum. *Estée Lauder's Perfectionist Pro Rapid Firm + Lift Treatment Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 recently made its way to my heart {and my face}. The dreamiest multi-targeted skin re-texturizer. This guy carries a powerful blend of actives, including its star ingredient, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8. Its job is to resurface, rebuild and refill the look of facial contours. It promotes the skin's natural proteins and lipids as well. Plus it contains hyaluronic acid, a powerful humectant (aka moisture-binding ingredient) that keeps the skin plump, hydrated and, yes, young-looking. It attracts and holds on to water before pulling it from the environment into the skin. So logically, I glob it on my face, neck and decollete. It sinks in quite rapidly but deeply. I really enjoy its tightening sensation as it seeps through. After just a few days my skin's touch, appearance and grain has definitely improved. Its fresh floral scent makes it so enticing to use. Another one of my hacks for braving the cold is my two-step layering process. I go for my hydration arsenal first. The big poppa. I can always count on good ol' *Marcelle ultra gentle moisturizing cream for the cool but not-so-cool climate. It was designed to reduce irritation in atopic skin. So you already know it is, as its moniker indicates, as nice as a penguin🐧 A dream cream that delivers comforting moisture while strengthening my skin's natural coat and protecting it from dehydration and daily aggressors i.e. savage chilliness that can cause dryness, peeling, flaking, fine lines emphasis and irritation. This pup is gluten-free, silicone-free, perfume-free, paraben-free, oil-free, basically trouble-free. A bulletproof formula that is non comedogenic so it is an absolute dream for those with hyper sensitive skin! I wouldn't consider this brother as completely lightweight though. It is quite rich for my usual combo to oily skin but it works during the below zero temperatures as my skin wanders into normal-to-dry territory. Moreover, it's CDA (Canadian Dermatology Association) approved - they knew I wouldn't survive without it so they endorsed it..). All these features make it a great ally against the frigidness. I use sunscreen Year-round. Snow, rain, hails or sleet (sometimes all at once), SPF is an essential element of my winter regimen. UV rays are not our friends (premature aging, anyone? No thanks✋🏾) The sunbeams can be reflected by sand (ahhhh...) and snow (yuck..). Flurry reflects 80 % of the sun glint. Thus protection is mandatory summer and winter alike. That's why I rocks with *IDC's Hydra uv protect anti-pollution moisturizing cream, my moisturizer tag teamer. The Canadian Association of dermatology recommends a FPS of at least 15 for appropriate sun preservation. This puppy boasts a SPF 30 and it is a long-lasting moisturizer with outstanding protective built-in hydration joins forces with natural sun filters and an anti-pollution complex, for the complete protection of skin, where it intensely hydrates and nourishes to restore evenness and radiance. After I apply it my skin is soft, silky and most importantly, shielded. On winter my hands turn very *Snow White-Wicked Queen* dry. They truly look like raisins that the cold wind has sucked the life out of. Thankfully the healthy hands stronger nails cream from Vaseline intensive care is here to the rescue. This knight in boosting armor is infused with a keratin-enriched concoction that prevents from dampness lost, ensuring that my paws are smooth and hydrated. It has a very nice consistency, doesn't leave my mitts with a greasy feel. And has a very pleasant botanical fragrance. This guy is the perfect candidate for restoring weak and brittle, dry, ragged cuticles (I know you get scolded by your manicure lady just like I do💅🏾) I can already see an improvement after using it for a few weeks. I feel my nails getting more robust and they never looked so amazing! Blistex medicated lip balm with sunscreen is my pucker ultimate armors. It helps heal my severely dried, chapped lips caused by wintery winds. It contains a penetrating formula that provides both medication and moisture. The SPF 15 is really the ice-ing on the cake; a huge plus +++ in my book. My lips feel instantly relieved after putting it on. Affordable AND effective, this lip ointment goes on easily and doesn't get sticky or oily like some other lip balms. The minty smell isn't too overwhelming for an analgized balm. All of this Dimethicone, Camphor and Menthol goodness is wonderfully contained in a slick, emerald green lipstick-like case. A *purse necessity* for on-the-go touchups. My only gripe with it is the way it tastes if I accidentally lick my lips. But it's not the product's fault..shrugs. Bonus product. Throughout the year you want to apply your body cream, butter or oil straight out of the shower for maximum moisture retention. Welp, it is crucial in winter. Nivea's Firming Body oil locks the dewiness in like a champ. I've *already sang the praises* of this guy: rich texture, fast dry-down, leaves me with impossibly soft skin. A wintertime requisite. There you have it. My holy grail, no fail products for the war against Old Man Winter. WANNA KNOW: how do you face (!) the icy temps? Comment below! xoxo, Deb Disclaimer: Items were purchased with my own coinTs, unless marked with a (*) then these are products that were gifted to me at events or sent my way for review without any pressure for analysis, evaluation, critique, assessments or commentary. Thoughts/opinions are, as usu, my own (how boring to take someone else's ;P)  Sources: herworld.com, goodhousekeeping.com, beautyeditor.ca, huffingtonpost.com.

Fashion event, Black Suede Studio’s shoestring-pulling’s launch. Earlier this month I attended a very exciting event. As I entered the W hotel, a feeling of curiosity and anticipation came on to me. The newly revamped *Wow* suite was definitely, as its name hints, awe inspiring. The suite was smartly transformed into a shoe gallery for the festive occasion. The shoes were strategically placed, designed in vivid colors but minimal designs. Febrility was undeniably palpable. The atmosphere clearly oozed exhilaration as the entrepreneurs’ friends and family were there for the fashionable affair. Soft strains of ambient house met my ears as I perused the label’s first offering while notching on yummy mini burgers and spring rolls. The ambiance was electric but oh so chic for Black Suede Studio, a new local footgear brand. FW'18 Nearly two years after its creation, Black Suede Studio develops its own shoes that reinvent their offer sold by big brands, presenting refreshing pieces without being excessive. BSS grants a major focus on style, comfort, quality and details that constitute the label’s DNA. Created here in Quebec, the brand wonderfully meet the needs of the modern woman that looks for a versatile style while standing out and feel special while rocking them. BSS shoes are unique, just like the women who wear them. Constantly on the lookout for the trends, Anne-Marie - who I had the pleasure of chatting with over a glass of wine - is the passionate Co-founder, Vice-President and Creative Director behind each of the collections. She draws inspiration from her travels to the main fashion capitals (London, Milan, Paris New York) and from her innumerable shopping sessions 🛍🛍 (self confessed!). She then shares her visions and detailed creative layouts to her collaborative designers who give life to the Black Suede Studio soles through their drawings. Founder and CEO Kris Avakian, the other half of the dynamic design duo, knows a thing or two about the fashion business. After living in China for 3 years he’s acquired a strong understanding of the sourcing, distribution and supply chain management required to execute flawless product delivery strategies for global customers. For ten years, Avakian has been elevating the efficiency of operations with Glam & Glitter, a family-owned fashion accessories business. His latest creation Black Suede Studio is the result of a keen sense for business development and recognizing gaps in the marketplace. With Kris at the helm, driving operations and product procurement, BSS is delivering high quality footwear at competitive prices to leading retailers worldwide. An expansion plan and new collabs are in the works for Black Suede Studio. I cannot wait to see what’s in store for this upcoming line. If this puts a pep on your steps - and if the shoe fits - head on over to www.blacksuedestudio.com.

Friday Fashion Insider: Lauren Santo Domingo - As NYFW #fw18 comes to a close, it was only fitted to feature a New Yawka as today's FFI {reboot}. Contributing Editor for Vogue and cofounder of online fashion retailer Moda Operandi Lauren Santo Domingo. Dubbed one of the 100 most influential New Yorker's of the past 25 years by the New York Observer, LSD counts Proenza Schouler and Nina Ricci in her infamous fashion circle. A fixture on glossies such as Vogue US/Paris/Spain, W and WJS Magazine, she was crowned International Best Dressed by Vanity Fair in 2012. Upon the LMVH announcement of Hedi Slimane replacing (sob😢) MY *beloved* http://roseinaconcreteworld.tumblr.com/search/Celine Phobe Philo at Céline earlier this week, one's got to wonder: what is it with the never ending, dizzying chess moves amongst our treasured, highly esteemed industry? With the Womenswear shows just around the corner (starting Deb.8 to be exact), these stepups (and downs) are admittedly, rather disheartening. The constant House-hopping is undoubtedly keeping designers and aficionados alike on their toes. While Philo's departure was considered a longtime coming, is her rock'n'roll-inclined, rebellious substitute a good fit for the minimalist-focused Philowers? But that's a thesis for a different article.. In light of these major shakeups, breakups and makeups, I thought I'd breakdown the recent designers walkouts and fill-ins, a [precarious] little cheat sheet of some sort. Departures and replacements timeline •04/16 After his tenure at Dior Homme, Hedi Slimane exits YSL as creative director (2012). 37-year old Italian-Belgian Versus Versace alum Anthony Vaccarello takes on a few days later. •10/15 Raf Simons departs Christian Dior and is confirmed 8/16 as Calvin Klein's CD following Francisco Costa (who left in April '16). Simons' offerings are critically acclaimed and well received by the loyal CK fashionistas/fashionistos at his first show for the design label on 2/17. •7/16 Maria Grazia Chiuri leaves her co-designer position (and Pierpaolo Piccioli high & dry) at Valentino. She heads to Dior a few days later and becomes the French fashion label's first ever female Artistic Chief. Her first showcase on 9/17 is met with mixed reviews. •1/17: Clare wright Keller split with hobo heaven brand Chloe. She was there for 6 years. Previously at Pringle of Scotland, Keller then stands in the luxurious house's first Female Artistic Director following Riccardo Tisci's ebb which I'll touch on momentarily..👇🏾 •2/17: Tisci leaves Givenchy after 12 years handling the luxe label's Womenswear, Couture AND menswear collections. The London's Central Saint Martins graduate, whose Nike collabs become sportswear staples shortly after, is rumored to take the reins over at *Versace*. This statement hasn't been affirmed nor denied. Stay tuned, I guess 🤷🏾‍♀️ •3/17 After 4 years seconding Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton, Natasha Ramsey Levi lands at Chloe, becoming Clare wright Keller's successor. Still keeping up? I barely can. At any rate, let's resume.. •4/17: Jenna Lyons (pictured above 👆🏾) steps down from J.Crew after 26 years as AD and president. This came out of left field. I honestly thought it was a tasteless April's fool prank 🎣🎏.Sadly it was not. Somsack Sikhounmuong takes over the American RTW brand's Head Women's design. •12/17 Jonathan Saunders resigns from DVF as Chief Creative Officer after shutting down his 10-year eponymous line back in 12/15 (exactly 2 years later. Humm🤔) He was hired in 5/16. •1/18: news report that Kim jones departs LV as Men's Artistic Director •1/21: Hedi Slimane is nominated to join Céline, effective February 1st. The designer will take on the title of Artistic, Creative & Image Director and expending the design house's Menswear, Couture and fragrance. The French-Tunisian creator is set to reveal his first collection for the brand in September during Paris Fashion Week. I couldn't go without dribbling a few gossip bits on you 'dolls 🤗✨ •I heard through the grapevine that Sicilian designer Fausto Puglisi is highly considered for a position at Roberto Cavalli. This would make total sense considering their similar ingenious imPRINT. If proven to be true then this definitely gets the RIACW stamp 🕹of approval! •We shouldn't worry too long about Phoebe as it is being whispered that she is on her way to take the reins over at Burberry, replacing Christopher Bailey [who quit the U.K. house this past October]. •Rumor has it that Lanvin alumni Alber Elbaz has been taking meetings at Chanel's HQ. This makes me ecstatic as he would be perfect as Karl's heir in perpetuating his legacy. YASSSS! But it's just hearsay. You haven't heard it from me.. And let's not omit the recent (read: numerous) designer migrations to the Cities of Angels AND Lights: •The Fall' 2017 collections saw Rebecca Minkoff and Rachel Zoe staging shows in LA in disfavor of NY •1/17 Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough announce their Paris Couture invasion, ditching NYFW's runway altogether. The dynamic designing duo combined the brand's Main RTW and Pre-fall collections proposals during the event's Spring/Summer presentations. Yeah. My head is spinning while writing these lines 😗💨 •6/17: The exodus wave 🌊 continues as Tommy Hilfiger, high off his #TommyNow affair, vanishes from the US of A🇺🇸 and flies across the pond to see what the U.K. 🇬🇧- London precisely- is all about. •7/17 Paris born and raised Joseph Altuzarra announced his return to his hometown, forlorning his adopted city. Invited by La Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la mode, he releases his Spring '18 Ready-to-Wear in September of that same year. 1/18: A. Wang deserting the Womenswear calendar. The prominent fashion designer decided he was going to chuck up the deuces ✌🏾to NYC right after his upcoming Fall'18 collection unveil in the Big Apple on Feb 10. Moreover, his Spring 2019 collection will show later on this year in June instead of September. So what exactly causes these frequent demotions, step-outs, switch-ups and relocations? Collection overload and exhaustion. 6 offerings a year can be hard on anybody, even the most zealous style superhero. On the other hand, us fashion spectators and consumers get collections shoved down our throats with no time to digest. A brand's regular calendar withdrawal could be motivated by a desire to streamline its business and refocus its efforts on design. Again, another topic for another post. An understandable reason for American labels to flee the States is global expansion. Our darling domestic brands head overseas in hopes to build and capitalize upon their international presence. Speaking of finance, these are evidently {underlined} commerce-driven decisions as well. Yes, it is good to delve into new waters, new talents that bring in fresh ideas and perspectives. But these perpetual turnarounds and trade-ins are not the beeznass, literally. Evidently, or visibly some STEADY, long-lasting and long term adjustments will have to take place in the industry. Be it producing smaller collections or targeting specific consumer demands. Until then I predict several other swaps. These ADs better pray that they won't be next on the chopping block. Oh, and Olivier if you're reading this, please remain at Balmain and keep slaying my existence. Stay there🤚🏾Do not move a single dreamy lash set of yours. I couldn't take this heartbreak 💔 What say you? Is your head spinning from all these style shifts? Or do you think that fashion change is good and is a normal part of evolution? Sounds off in the comments below! xoxo, Deb sources: fashionnista.com, fashionnetwork.com, businessoffashion.com, Harper's Bazaar, Fashion United
