The waves on this city roar Relentless in their intensity What angst it so, bleeding cold sea sweats Shadows of many lost souls Here near the sea edge Lies many dreams that wander afar Such dreams are far and between Return to collect the promises of their youth Alas! But they are no more Forgotten by years that punished them Their affliction is not spoken for Silent as the night shadow Unspoken as the depth of one’s despair Locked in and hardened

Do prayers of the broken matter?
I know God exists.
Only-
Sometimes,
He does seems
Like,
A silent presence;
Listening,
But not
Hearing,
The pleas
That besiege
battered
Hearts.
Do those prayers
Whispered
By
The
BROKEN
matter?
Sometimes,
He does seems to
Be a hesitant bystander.
Watching,
But not
Seeing.
(Is heaven so far)?
Sometimes,
I wonder.
.
.
.
.
.
Do prayers,
Whispered by the broken,
Matter?

My forever song.
Lyrics
Oh-uh-oh-oh-oh

Capturing this here as reference for the future to when a discussion on a Kayan dictionary first started. Left to right: Ester Jok, me, amei Jok (Taman Sara) and Gebala Ngau Jok. One day soon, this will materialise.
Taman Sara, a Kayan elder has given us the honor to see through the publication of his life’s work. Written neatly in Kayan, he started works on the dictionary more than 40 years ago preserving Kayan words for generations to come.
Taman Sara was involved in the translation of the Kayan Bible working together with Australian missionaries at the time. An amazing accomplishment and the fact that he studied only up to Primary Three.
