Ron's POV
“And Hufflepuff intercepted Gryffindor’s quaffle! The Hufflepuff’s chasers are flying perfectly through the pitch leaving no room for Gryffindor to get the quaffle back. Not even the beaters can stop them! There's only one person that can save Gryffindor: Weasley, Gryffindor’s keeper!”, the crowd cheers loudly with the mention of the best keeper Hogwarts has ever seen. “They're getting closer and closer, there it goes the quaffle and… HE DID IT!! RON WEASLEY DID THE UNTHINKABLE!”
“RON! Are you ready to go?”, said Mr Weasley from the kitchen.
Ron suddenly woke up, remembering he had promised his father he would join him on his trip to the Muggle world. However, he didn't get up straight away, he couldn't stop thinking about his dream and wondered if he would ever be as an incredible quidditch player as his older brother Charlie.
After dressing up quickly and eating some breakfast, Ron and his father Arthur reached Diagon Alley and then the Leaky Cauldron, arriving at the Muggle world at last.
Ron never really understood his father's obsession with Muggles, in fact, he was quite sure no one did. Other pureblood families judge his family a lot, especially his father, due to their affectionate or lack of disgust towards Muggles, something Ron understood even less.
“Why should we hate them just because they aren't wizards? They're still humans after all.”, Ron usually said when this sort of conversation came up.
Mr. Weasley’s plans for today were clear: studying Muggle libraries, bookshops and other places that could sell books in order to acknowledge whether or not they had any magical information they shouldn't.
“It definitely sounds fun.”, Ron said while rolling his eyes clearly showing his boredom.
“I know! Imagine all the new things we will learn about them!”, Mr. Weasley answered with such enthusiasm that some people looked towards him questioning if he was alright.
“Glad we stopped by Honeydukes.”, Ron stated while putting a candy bean in his mouth from Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans his father had bought him. “Dad, can I stay in that bookshop reading The Tales of Beedle the Bard?”
“Read what? And what did I tell you about the beans? Ron, you were not supposed to bring that book! And I don't want you to eat those in front of Muggles, we can't take any- oh look! Is that the post office?!”, Mr. Weasley walked quickly towards it, bumping into several Muggles.
Knowing his father would be staring at the building for a while, Ron got in the bookshop looking for a chair, but finding a place to sit proved to be more difficult than expected. When he finally found a place to rest- that was clearly not meant to be used as a chair-, he realised that there was a girl about his age in the bookshop as well and even though he couldn't see her face - she had a big bushy brown hair -, he felt she wasn't feeling happy. He came closer and his feelings were confirmed: she was indeed sad.
“Why are you so sad?”, Ron asked, questioning himself why he was so concerned about this girl he had never met. “Well, it's not like the bookshop is the most interesting place in the world, especially this type of bookshop.”
The girl turned her face to look at him and he could then see her dull brown eyes. She also looked like she was about to reprimand him for something, but she gave up on that idea as she glanced at what Ron was holding. He remembered the beans and couldn't help offering one.
“Do you want one?”, Ron asked nicely.
“No, thank you.”, the girl replied excessively politely.
“It's your loss, really.”, said Ron while putting a bean on his mouth. “Argh, this one tastes like earwax. Well, I better go now. Have a nice day!”
“Wait! Which book is that?”, the girl asked him, making Ron understand she was not staring at the beans but at the book he had brought with him. He also realised the girl's eyes were not dull anymore, but shining, in fact they reminded him of the night skies he was used to looking at at the burrow.
“Oh, you don't know? It's The Tales of-...”, Ron stopped abruptly. “How could you know…”. The girl was a Muggle! How could he forget that? But telling her wouldn't be so bad, would it? No! “We can't take any risk!”, he recalled. “I really have to go now. Ah, nice to meet you.”, he said as he left running, afraid he would say something he shouldn't.
“There you are! I was looking for you. Oh, you visited a bookshop without me?! How dare you!”, Mr. Weasly said as soon as Ron left the bookshop pretending to me mad. “Well, tell me: did you see anything unusual? No? Splendid!”, for a moment, Ron thought his dad was going to start crying of happiness. “Let's go home now. Oh, and we shall stop at the Honeydukes again and I will let you buy all the candy you want!”. But Ron didn't want to go to Honeydukes, he didn't want more candy, he wanted to go back and ask the girl why she was sad in the first place and why she wasn't anymore.
These thoughts lived in his mind until they reached Honeydukes for the second time that day. It was only when they got in the shop and his father said once again he could choose whatever he wanted, Ron realised that maybe he did want more candy.
13 years later...
“I can't believe it! My old The Tales of Beedle the Bard! I thought mom had thrown it away when she found out I took it with me to that trip I did with dad to the Muggle world”
Holding the book, Ron walked down the stairs to tell Hermione his marvellous finding. As he reached the end of the stairs, he saw Hermione sadly staring at their bookshelf. And as if it was magic, he remembered more about that trip than the book he lost. He remembered dreaming about quidditch, his dad telling me to hurry up, all the candies he bought at Honeydukes, but, especially, the sad girl at the bookshop who was so interested in his book.
Ron turned to the kitchen and looked in every single cabinet for a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and when he finally found one, he grabbed it and walked to Hermione.
“Hermione, look what I found! My old edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard!”, he said happily. “Oh and I have beans too, do you want one?”,
Hermione took a while to answer, but by the look in her eyes he could tell she remembered that day as well.

Hermione's POV
Hermione Granger was known by their friends as the bookworm. She had an endless passion for books and would spend her days reading.
“Dad, look! The bookshop! Can we please go there?”, begged Hermione.
“But we went there yesterday and the day before.”, responded Hermione’s dad.
“Dad, please.”
“Alright, but as soon as I come back we leave and we're not buying any more books. We barely have space for the ones we already have at home.”
“Fine.”, she said with a grumpy face as she entered the bookshop.
Hermione was in heaven. So many books she could read, so many adventures and characters. Her smile couldn't be any bigger. However, that smile faded soon after, since she couldn't find a book she hadn't already read. Half of them she had at home and the other half she had borrowed from the library not long ago.
“Why are you so sad?”, said a voice not that far from her. “Well, it's not like the bookshop is the most interesting place in the world, especially this type of bookshop.”
Hermione turned her head to where the voice was coming from with the purpose of teaching this child some sense. The child was, in fact, a boy with flaming hair, blue eyes and so many freckles she would take years to count them all. She was going to start talking when she realised the boy was holding a book she had never seen before.
“Do you want one?”, the boy asked, stretching out his hand.
Hermione was so focused on the book that she didn't even realise the boy was holding what seemed to be a pack of colourful beans, a sort of candy probably. Nonetheless, she had been taught not to accept food - or anything really- from strangers.
“No, thank you.”, she replied.
“It's your loss, really.”, said the boy while putting one colourful bean in his mouth. “Argh, this one tastes like earwax. Well, I need to go now. Have a nice day!”
“Wait! Which book is that?”
“Oh, you don't know? It's The Tales of-...”, he stopped abruptly, like he was saying something he was not supposed to. “How could you know… I really have to go now. Ah, nice to meet you.”, and he left running.
Hermione was extremely confused, but she quickly forgot the boy as her dad arrived to take her home. For the rest of the day, the boy never crossed her mind, instead she couldn't stop thinking about that book. She asked everyone she knew about it, but no one had heard of it before.
She fell asleep that night wondering she would ever find the book or meet the nameless ginger head again.
13 years later...
“Hermione, look what I found! My old edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard!”, said Ron enthusiastically while holding a bag of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans.
Hermione looked at Ron and a memory that was long forgotten popped up. Suddenly, she remembered being sad in the bookshop she used to go to everyday and then a mysterious boy appearing with a book she had never seen. She could also recall that, in a weird way, the boy made her feel better or, at least, he took her mind out of what was making her sad.
“Oh and I have beans too, do you want one?”
“How can I refuse?”, Hermione answered while giggling.

Nuna and The Trip to France
Previous chapter
Bonus Chapter
Luna and Neville had come back home from France for about a week now and, as much as they wanted to, they hadn't had the chance to meet their friends.
As they were ready to have dinner, an owl knocked on the window: it was Ron and Hermione’s. Neville grabbed the letter the owl brought and read it out loud:
Hello Luna and Neville,
We hope your holidays were everything and more than you expected and well deserved. We talked to Harry and Ginny and they are free this weekend, so we thought it would be a good date for all of us to meet at our place.
The letters you sent us from France have arrived, as well. We are excited to open them, but we will contain ourselves until we are all together.
We can't wait to see you two!
Love from your friends,
Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
They couldn't be more thrilled to spend the weekend at their friends’ place. As Saturday drew closer, their excitement grew more and more and by Thursday they had already everything they needed and more packed up.
Saturday arrived. Neville and Luna dressed up with the most cosy clothes possible and made her way to their friends home. Ron and Hermione lived in a cottage very similar to the burrow, both in location and decoration. The only thing different was the fewer number of chairs and rooms.
When Neville and Luna arrived they were welcomed by their thoughtful friends. Ginny straight up ran to Luna to hug her and the boys followed her, cheering Neville's name. As they got in the house, they saw a busy Hermione setting the table.
“Where did you go? I needed your help with- Luna, Neville you're here!”, Hermione said with a big smile and then hugging both of them.
They spent the entire lunch hearing Luna and Neville telling all the adventures they had in France.
“I can't believe you actually saw Thestrals.”, said Ron.
“Right? It's extremely rare to spot them in France. You were so lucky!”, Hermione answered.
“Yeah, the last time I saw Thestral was when-, well, never mind really…”, Harry stopped himself from saying something that would ruin the moment and remain quiet for a while. Ginny noticed his behaviour and rapidly changed the theme of the conversation.
“Yeah, yeah the stories are amazing, the food is amazing, we are all amazing, but please can we open our letters now?”, said Ginny impatiently. “It was already bad enough to wait for the letter to arrive.”
“Actually, they arrived quite fast considering that they came from a whole different country. You see muggle mail-”, Hermione stopped talking since everyone was looking at her with a not so pleasing face. “Alright, alright, let’s open them.”
They opened their letters and they couldn't help smiling. Luna and Neville had put a lot of effort into making them as long and aesthetically pleasing as possible. As they kept reading, they would giggle every now and then, making Luna and Neville extremely happy that their friends were enjoying the letters.
Among them, Ginny was the one focused the most. She hadn't turned her eyes from the letter for a moment or made any comments, no one was really sure of what was going on. At last, she put down the letter very carefully and threw herself into Lunas’s arm.
“I missed you.”, she muttered.
And at that moment, Luna finally felt like she was back home.

Chapter Eight
Home. As much as they were enjoying their holidays, Luna and Neville missed home.
After their meeting with the Thestrals, Luna and Neville ended up falling asleep next to a tree, waking up to the soft sunbeams hitting them on the face. With the sunlight, they were able to quickly find their path and get to the village.
They spent the rest of the day walking around and meeting new people. As a matter of a fact, they even met someone they were sure to be a wizard.
“Oh yes, I remember when I was young. I went to a not so common school, you see, in Scotland. We had to wear uniforms and were divided according to our personality. I was told to be honest, loyal and kind. Good times.”, the man babbled. “Once I got burned by a fire crab. It's a species of crab, you see, I got burned while cooking it, of course. Crabs can't get you on fire ahah.” They would have asked the old man directly if he was a wizard or not, but they didn't think that was very polite of them.
By the end of the day, they were exhausted, thus it didn't take long for them to fall asleep. They both woke up early the next morning: Luna to prepare some sandwiches for the long ride to the airport and some more for the flight and Neville to pack their things and give the key to the landlady. Hours after leaving the village they arrived at the airport and, more hours later, the plane was landing in London.
The purpose of this trip was not only to increase the love between Neville and Luna but also for them to recover their energy. However, when they finally reached their home, they were so worn out that they wished to go on holidays once more. Nonetheless, they were as happy as someone can be and they couldn't wait to tell friends all the adventures they had in beautiful France.

Chapter Seven
Darkness. No matter the direction they looked they could only see darkness and even if they were not scared, they were still feeling uneasy.
“Oh, no!” , cried Neville, “Haven't we seen that tree like three times? We're lost, aren't we?”
As soon as he finished his sentence, they heard a strange noise, which made Neville unconsciously put his hand over his wand. But Luna didn't seem worried, in fact she ran towards the sound through the bushes.
“Luna?”, Neville asked, obviously concerned. “Luna, where are you?”
Not seeing Luna, Neville took out his wand and walked, slowly, following the sound he wasn't able to identify. As he walked through the bushes the sound became louder and clearer. He held his wand firmly, ready to attack if necessary and walked through the last bush.
“Slowly, we don't want to scare them”, Luna said in her naturally calm and soft voice. “You can't put your wand down, there are gentle creatures, you know.” Neville did as she said and stared amazed at the creatures in front of him. There weren't one, or two but four Thestrals and even if they were known to be omens of misfortune, he had never felt so lucky.
Neville was about to join Luna - she was busy petting one of the Thestrals- when he remembered the wand he wasn't supposed to have.
“It's okay.”, Luna assured Neville. “I brought mine too actually, but left it in the cottage. I feel safe around you.”
After moments appreciating the presence of such incredible creatures, Neville started to remember the reason he could see them at all. Even though his grandfather's death was the event which enabled him to see Thestrals, they had both seen enough death to be marked for life. Such thoughts made him more emotional than he expected. He grabbed the wand again, lit it up and pointed it at the sky as he teared up. Luna came closer, put one hand on his shoulder and the other on his wand. Together, they cast a spell and sparks of white light came out of Neville’s wand. The sparks went up in the dark sky and then faded into the darkness.

Chapter Six
Nature. As someone who lived surrounded by it, Luna surely loved Nature. Even so, not as much as Neville.
Dreaming to be an Herbology teacher one day, Neville showed quite soon his interests on Herbology classes and magical plants in general. However, Neville’s knowledge didn't include non magical plants.
Luna and Neville walked down to the forest that surrounded the village, a place which they thought would make a lovely place for a picnic. They had spent the past months in the centre of London, so they were particularly excited to spend a great amount of time in the middle of a forest. Once they reached the perfect picnic spot (after walking for one or two hours), they set up all the food and enjoyed their meal while listening to the birds’ cheerfully chirping. .
“I have a present for you.”, said Luna while taking a rectangular box out of her bag.
Neville, who was clearly caught by surprise, grabbed the box and slowly opened it. Inside it was a book, Botany in a Day could be read in its green cover. Neville was speechless. He flipped through the pages calmly with a huge smile on his face and his eyes shining like never before. After a moment, Neville hugged Luna tightly and muttered a thank you.
Neville never quite let go of Luna, in fact he sit behind her with his legs and arms surrounding her, placed the book on her legs and together they were able to identify several trees, flowers and even small plants. It was clear as water how happy Neville was for being able to learn how to name non magical plants as well.
Luna and Neville spent hours naming plants- even if to them it felt like seconds- and by the time they were done, the sun had already (sol se por). They would be scared of wandering all by themselves in a dark forest if they weren't experienced magicians. Besides, what's the worst that could happen? Being attacked by a bear? Or maybe a wolf? Being mugged? Such scenarios didn't sound very realistic, plus Neville would be able to protect them. Well, technically, he shouldn't, since he was not supposed to bring his wand, but he couldn't help it. What if there were magical creatures there? What if a Death Eater on the run found them? What if a war bursted out of nowhere? The magical scenarios weren't sounding much more realistic than the non magical ones, but no matter how much Neville cared about Luna'a safety he always felt it wasn't enough.

Chapter Five
Friday. At a blink of an eye it had arrived.Luna and Neville would be spending the weekend in a small cute village surrounded by a beautiful forest and they couldn't be more excited, thus they woke up as early as they could, packed their bags, got into the car and drove their way to the village.
“Pull over!”, Luna said loud enough to scare Neville, who acted as he was asked. Luna got out of the car with something in her hand that Neville didn't have time to identify and after asking for directions to a Parisian she ran in the opposite direction.
Neville thought about following her but he couldn't let the car that badly parked, what if a policeman passed by? But he also couldn't leave Luna by herself. Neville then saw a ball under Luna’s seat, a remembrall to be more precise and as soon as he held it the smoke inside turned red, but, like always, Neville didn't know what he had forgotten to do. He always found remembralls useless for that reason, but this one was offered by Harry as a nostalgic and thankful gift, since it was Neville's old remembrall that made everyone realise how good of a seeker he would be.
The door car opened and Luna got it. She looked at Neville, who was still holding the remembrall and she smirked.
“We forgot to deliver the letters for our friends.”, said Luna calmly.
The letters! How could he have forgotten the letters? The ones they passionately wrote and filled with photos of the gorgeous places they visited. Neville was devastated (an overreaction some may say), but Luna just smiled, gave him a hug and said they should get going, otherwise they would be late.
After driving for hours, they finally arrived at their destination and they couldn't be more fascinated.
“It looks like the village from that Disney movie Hermione loves so much.”, Luna said while looking through the car window. Beauty and The Beast was Hermione’s favourite movie and Belle was her favourite princess, which was not surprising considering how similar they were.
The house where they were staying was really small, barely having space for both of them and all their bags, but that only made them feel more comfortable and welcomed. There were flowers and plants everywhere, which were probably picked in the forest that surrounded the village and some welcoming cake freshly baked.
They didn't take much time unpacking, so they had time to go to a grocery store nearby and buy ingredients for a delicious handmade meal, which they enjoyed under the night star sky.

Chapter Four
Art. Neville used to be ridiculed for how much he loved art, especially by those whose opinions on Muggles were far from pleasant.Nevertheless, he was not at Hogwarts anymore. He was at a french art gallery with his moon!
“Luna, look!” said Neville with childlike enthusiasm, “What an impressive way of mixing such different colours! And look at that one! It definitely has some Frida Kahlo influences and the one over there is an incredible example of impressionism.”
As Neville expressed his passion for art, he would feverishly switch his focus between Luna and the paintings surrounding them, but one of the times he would supposedly look at Luna, she wasn’t there. Neville never admitted it, but he had a little heart attack before realising she was just around the corner.
The painting Luna was staring at was, by all means, questionable. It had no logic, no theory, there was no particular person, animal or object that could be recognised and most people visiting the gallery seemed not to appreciate it.
“I prefer this one”, Luna said in the purest way possible, “It has a white friendly elephant.”
Neville unconsciously tilted his head to see if he could find the elephant Luna was talking about, but no matter how hard he tried there’s no use. After a few moments, he found himself looking at another piece of art, a masterpiece for a matter of fact, one with long blonde hair, fair skin and eyes shinier than the stars. It didn't matter if he could spot the elephant or not, if Luna said it was there, it was.

Chapter Three
Sunrise. Luna has always preferred the sunrise, so it was no surprise to Neville when he woke up and she was already doing her morning rituals. He tried really hard not to stare at her, but he found her too adorable not to.
Today's plans were not very bold. According to Neville’s schedule, today they were just going to learn more about the surroundings, such as visiting local street markets, shops, parks and meeting both Muggles and wizards that live nearby.
Their first stop was at a local street market whose smell of fresh fruits and vegetables could be smelled from far. It was almost impossible to resist the temptation of buying every single one of them and the smell of the bakeries and pastries were noticeable as well. Our couple bought several fruits along with croissants and baguettes from the nearest bakery.
The breakfast was followed by a tour through the streets of Paris. It was hard to figure out whether it was Neville or Luna that was more impressed, since the architecture of Paris was considerably different. From parks to monuments, from small local shops to large shopping centres, common to less common turistic stops, our couple visited all sorts of places.
At dinner, Neville and Luna decided to enjoy a homemade meal, full of healthy vegetables they had bought that same morning. But after today's dinner there was no strength left for a night hang out, in fact they were so tired they didn't even have strength to reach the bed, falling asleep on the soft living room's couch.

Chapter Two
Muggle flying. It can't be worse than brooms right? Well, at least there are seats on airplanes. Although brooms are significantly quicker, they had a good flight and in no time there they were: France.
“It smells like flowers’ cookies that just came out of the oven.”, Luna said with a truly happy smile.
It still surprises Neville some of the things Luna says. However, unlike most people who tend to find her strange, or question the sanity behind such unordinary thoughts, Neville sees a woman whose imagination goes far beyond limits.
As soons as they left the airport, the couple rented a car and drove their way to the small apartment where they were going to sleep during their lovely holidays. You could see Neville was slightly tense while driving (who needs to practice their driving when you can just teleport anywhere, right?), but glancing at Luna and realising how relaxed she was made him feel safer and braver (and almost crash too).
By the time they arrived at the apartment, it was already late, so there was no time to do anything
Neville had prepared. He had planned a whole list, which included the visit to several art galleries, local markets and restaurants and a weekend in a small village nearby. Nevertheless, they couldn't just go to sleep, they were too excited and the night was beautiful! Thus, there was one thing they still could do…. Night out on the streets of Paris!

Nuna and the Trip to France
Chapter One
France. Neville was aware that France was a classical choice among Muggles, and perhaps he should have chosen a more adequate place for witches and wizards, but after everything they have been through, a week or two without magic wouldn’t hurt.
However, as nice as his intentions were, he knew barely anything about France. He had borrowed every book about the country from Hermione, but the information was far from enough.
“Hermione, what should I do?” wondered Neville, clearly anxious.
“Why don’t you ask Fleur? She’s french, so she can probably help you.” said Ron from the otherside of the room. Hermione looked visibly annoyed, not sure if it was for not remembering something that obvious or for the mention of Fleur herself.
In any case, that was a brilliant idea, thus Neville made his way to Bill and Fleur’s house right away.
“Good afternoon Mrs Weasly, I know my visit was not expected, but I want to take Luna on a trip through France and thought-, well, actually Ron gave the idea of asking you for advice.”
Silence took over the room. Fleur was noticeably caught by surprise, but after a few moments of silence, she smiled.
“Oui, avec plaisir!”

Photograph taken after Neville talked about their trip. On the back it can be read "We're going to France! <3"
