Caregiver Mihawk + Regressor Buggy.

Im having a many a thoughts rn

• Buggy regresses to around 9-14

• He mostly does it when he’s feeling helpless more than anything. (I might explain more later idk)

•Mihawk found out when one night he was just going about through the part of the cross guild base only accessible to the three founders and then just so happened to see buggy playing with some toys while some “childish” clothes or other having forgotten to close the door.

•ensue an awkward silence staring at eachother before buggy practically shot himself at the door to shut it.

•obviously Mihawk knew exactly what this was. He dealt with Zoro and Perona for two fuckin years

•he’s just glad that finding out about this went a lot smoother than when he accidentally found Zoro regressed for the first time (that was…very rough.)

•he did come in with a threat to the clown. An easier one than his usual threats as to not startle the poor clown

•as he stepped in he just saw the clown there , terrified.

•but the clown was more terrified when Mihawk started to walk towards him….calmly. With an almost…caring look

•oh god he was actually going to die what the hell

•he closed his eyes in anticipation for the punch , the slap, the hit , the mockery. Anything!

•but instead he felt a hand placed in his shoulder

“Your hair is a bit messy..may I help fix it up for you?”

•Buggy opeaned his eyes to see that still tender look in his eyes. It made him feel…safe

•buggy never minded not having someone with him while he regressed. He sometimes found it a bit sad but usually found it pretty freeing! He could do whatever he wants with no grownups to tell him what to do! Like a real captain!

• but in this moment it was just….real nice.

• the two spend some time talking up until Buggy gets too huffy talking about “logic stuff or whatever”

•they’ve agreed Mihawk will only care for him when Buggy’s feeling too lonely or too fragile. Other than that he can just go about his duties

•though….mihawk does stay in his general area. If buggy is in his backstage room , Mihawk is stalking around the area unbeknownst to the clown.

•he knows it can be very scary if someone comes in while you’re regressed that you didn’t want around. The amount of times Perona screeched like a madman when he accidentally found her in playing with her sown dress up dolls

•one of Mihawks favourite activities to do for buggy is to do his hair for him. Allows him to show he cares and is there for buggy with no words and buggy still gets to play or read or anything

• if someone were to try find buggy while he’s regressed Mihawk would put on that ‘I’m beating buggy’s ass rn’ vibe and say he’s having a ‘private meeting with that ‘jaded joyless jester.’

•buggy is just sat on the floor behind the door holding back his giggling and smiling because he knows that meeting is just him showing off his elaborate juggling skills yet again and running through the entire line up of make up stories inside his head

•because I love smart buggy Mihawk even does simple experiments like a baking soda volcano to satiate Buggy’s need. He knows buggy is safe in the lab and still incredibly intelligent but just in case he accidentally gets too giddy with the dangerous chemicals he keeps it mellow

Caregiver Robin + Little Zoro

+ some regressing together hc

~ Nobody even notices they are gone honestly

~ Robin is mostly is there for Zoro when he’s at his weakest/most emotional moments while regressed

~ but that’s specifically because she knows when he’s like that nobody else can really tell

~ she knew that was how he was because she went to check on him one night after he was like that all evening and saw him breaking down like crazy crying for someone to hold him or jusg something to hold

~whenever she’s regressed there is very few words exchanged

~ he has his pacifier , she is humming away

~ usually Zoro is tucked under her arms and when he wants something else he pats her arm to let him go.

~ though most of his colourings or anything he’s doing needs to a looooong time to finish because he’s just in and out of sleep . That’s why the two stay snuggled!

~ Robin keeps a special stuffy for him in a box of regression things she has for the littles on crew. It’s a green wolf that she drew on replica scars for zoro (it makes him feel happy) and little accessories and stuff too

~ Zoro once kept himslef awake to finish a little drawing of him and Robin playing pretend (he was a dragon warrior knight and she was a wizard)

Bonus!!!!!!!

~ when Robin started becoming more comfortable being regressed there two has a little play date! It was her , him and Franky watching them two! Even while regressed the two were liek opposite poles of a magnet and just sat back to back or close together while doing their own thing. The only communication being Robin showing Zoro a page in the story book she likes or what reminded her of him. Or when Zoro shows her what she’s doing or he turned to tell her that he’s gonna probably fall asleep on her again so be prepared. (Franky always just scoops him up and cuddles Zoro so Robin doesn’t have to deal with the sudden weight)

Okay so one headcannon I have is that Robin is very much a telepathic communicator to zoro

Like when zoro is being all fussy and refusing to acknowledge that he’s in little space and that he REALLY needs some loving care Robin will just see the little signs. The way his brows are furrowed but he looks scared, how his scowl is bordering on a pout and his his stance is more dramatic and big. In these times she just say she has a ‘big job’ for him to do and he falls for the trick every time

But as soon as he heard the door click behind him and she says his name in that motherly tone he feels like the world shatters

He either fully accepts it or has a little bratty moment where he fully accepts it or fusses a bit more but ultimately it leads to a few stressed and embarrassed tears but always , no matter what way , he is curled up by her side while he quietly colours and she quietly reads

Hhhhhh I’m gonna make another post specifically about these two . I do not ship them romantically but they just. They come off as specifically the cool older cousin who’s escaped rough shit and the younger cousin who really looks up to them

Okay so I have a very specific idea in mind for how Brook realises he’s an age regressor.

Idk if this will make sense of even be good. But I like it and I’m kinda my own target audience

- He did actually do it a good couple times over his long long period of isolation.

- it mostly came as a coping mechanism for nights wheee nightmares and the isolation were really bad

- honestly he didn’t even realised he regressed. Just some nights he was extremely fragile and ‘simple minded’ as he used to word it

- years and years later obviously he joined the strawhats!

- when he learnt of his other crew mates being regressors and caregivers he naturally slipped into a caregiver role like a fun grandpa! He already kinda was one anyway

- though something about it all seemed so…familiar . Eh who cares. Lock that in the mind palace!

- first time someone even knew of any hint of his regressor side is Robin!

- the two were confiding in eachother about their traumas and Brook happened to mention these ‘simple nights’ where he’s basically just cry like a child lost in a shop or play silly little easy songs on the piano

- though when Robin suggested it might have been age regression he just shook it off. No way! There’s like no way. With how much there’s no way there is no way there can ever be a way! Definitely!

- However , a lot of it came crashing down one night when after an extremely stressful day and just overall a bad mental state Brook went to sleep with a heavy mind.

- he woke up in what he knew would have been a cold sweat if he still had skin

- he got up and checked around five times that everyone was in bed , asleep and alive in the boys cabin before he went out to check the girls.

- he heard Nami snoring so he knew she was okay but as he went for the door he heard Robin

“Brook…I would hope you’re not that depraved that you sneak into our room at night.”

- it really caught him off guard. The way he practically jumped out of his non existent skin made it clear to Robin something else was up.

- his speech was odd, he was fidgeting…he was like when Zoro was trying to lie while regressed

- as he did speak the truth of just checking where she was , she strode up to him and took his hand.

“Is it a simple night perhaps?”

- he didn’t even know she remembered that. But after that all the floodgates opened as he began confiding in her about his worries and fears and the way he was practically clinging to her told her all she needed to know.

- picking him up with relative ease , she brought him to the study.

- that’s where she fully explained the regressing. Everything in all its beauty. Brook then realised that yeah…yeah he does regress

- he fell asleep in her arms wrapped up in a blanket

- the night after he tried playing it off as just him being emotional!

-but after another small talk he finally caved

- it’s hard for him to accept it and there is an aspect of shame of it deep in his mind. Mostly because he is the oldest strawhat and he feels a bit silly doing it

- his main caregivers are Robin and Jinbei but also Franky helps out too

- the others know he regresses but they never see it forms long time

- typically it’s just to around the ages of 3-6 but more on the younger side

Chopper - Neither but if the crew needs help or cuddles or anything like this he will so steal a chance at a cuddle. Idk how to put it

Robin - Age regressor and caregiver (she hardly regresses but i have a good bunch of head cannons about her!)

Franky - Caregiver (the definition of the fun uncle!)
