In French, Gentoo penguins are called "Manchots Papous", or Grandfather penguins, due to the signature white feathers surrounding their head. I think this name makes more sense, personally. The etymological reason for their English name has been lost to time! Quel myst猫re !
En anglais, les <<Manchots Papous>> sont appellent <<Gentoo Penguins>> ! Quel bizarre. Qui sont les <<gentoos>>, et ont-ils les cheveux grises aussi?
