after her breakfast with cruz , honey locked herself up in the shared kitchen. she was on a mission to make something – anything french. she didn’t know too much about french cuisine but the few she did didn’t seem like they were easy for beginners and she really didn’t want to surprise rowan with shitty macaroons or soufflé!s. eventually though she settled on french belgian waffle cookies , it seemed easy enough to not mess up too badly , and she could even dip a few in chocolate to look fancy. honey didn’t understand why there was something about rowan that made her nervous almost , she always wanted to impress him and she never wanted to disappoint him. which was nothing like her , usually if a guy didn’t like her she wouldn’t care. after a few hours and a few burnt waffles honey was ready to go to rowan’s dorm , excitedly bouncing her way to the males dorm with a plate full of half chocolate covered and half plain cookies. she knocks on his door and waits for her … boyfriend ?? jesus christ , what even were they ?? 

              𝒉𝒊𝒔   𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅   𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒌𝒔   𝒖𝒑   𝒂𝒕   𝒕𝒉𝒆   𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅   𝒐𝒇   𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈,     completely  forgetting  for  a  moment  that  he  was  expecting  a  guest.    instantly,  he’s  using  the  last  of  the  spare  time  he  has  to  quickly  arrange  a  few  of  his  belongings  in  the  room    ----   followed  by  a  brief  check  of  his  appearance  in  the  mirror.    quite  some  time  has  passed  since  the  day  he  spent  time  with  honey  in  the  gardens,  and  while  he’s  guilty  of  falling  too  quick   in  many  many  situations,   he  hasn’t  doubted  that  same  feeling  he  felt  since.    what  once  began  with  intimidation  and  doubt,  blossomed  into  something  that’s  filled  with  nothing  but  respect  and  admiration.    truthfully,  he  didn’t  care  if  she  lied  about  her  past   ----   the  fact  that  she  opened  up  to  him  so  willingly  is  what  made  his  adoration  for  her  grow.     finally  reaching  over  to  open  the  door  between  them,  his  eyes  light  up  at  the  sight  of  the  treats  perfectly  displayed  on  the  plate.       ❛❛     bonjour,  ma  princesse,    ❜❜     rowan  greets  with  a  smile  before  giving  her  a  swift  kiss  on  the  cheek.      ❛❛     did  you  make  this ?    for  me ?    they’re  beautiful.    ❜❜       he’s  in  disbelief,  but  also  beyond  touched.     ❛❛     come  in  !     you’ve  arrived  at  the  right  time,  i  was  just  in  the  middle  of  packing  for  our  trip.    ❜❜

for once in his life ( okay , that was dramatic ) cruz shows up to a lexsquad event completely sober. why ? well , he simply didn’t have time to get drunk before , so he was going to have to make up for some lost time. couldn’t he just enjoy the party sober ? definitely , but that wasn’t cruz’s vibe. he’s already got his hands on some pizza , plain with no condiments ––– someone can force him to try that later , and he sets the plate down as he approaches a member of the squad. “ hey. do you wanna do a shot with me ? ” casual , cruz. “ i know there’s some alcohol on the drink table , but i also brought my own for … reasons , so. yes ? shot ? ” 

          𝐇𝐈𝐒   𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒   𝐀𝐑𝐄    fixated  on  the  variety  of  alcohol  displayed  on  the  table    ----    maybe  staring  at  it  a  little  too  long,  but  he  blames  the  poison�� that’s  already  pooling  in  his  head.    typically  rowan’s  one  to  control  his  intake,  though  with  the  week  he’s  had,  he  figures  one  stupid  night  wouldn’t  hurt.   so  he’s  here,  six  shots  in,  feeling  as  if  the  tables  have  turned.       ❛     i’ll  take  a  shot  with  you  if  you  try  my  pizza,    ❜     he  raises  an  eyebrow  in  suggestion  before  showcasing  his  slice    ----    one  that’s  riddled  with  pineapples.    it’s  an  odd  topping  choice,  though  he  enjoys  the  taste.    dipping  his  sunglasses  further  down  the  bridge  of  his  nose  to  properly  make  eye  contact,  the  corner  of  his  lips  begin  to  tug  upward  to  a  coy  smile.     ❛    do  we  have  a  deal,  my  baby  cruz-ssant ?    ❜

             although she didn’t plan on drinking herself past being a little buzzed at most , she still wanted to forget the past week all together and focus on having some fun to let off some of the stress with a chill night. “ you know , screw whoever didn’t think to put an elevator in the building. ” cove sighed when she reached the last step before stepping onto the roof , dropping the basket of blankets in her arms onto the ground. “ i really don’t think i’m making it back down those stairs ever again , wow. ” she huffed. “ sorry i’m being dramatic , anyway , do you have a drink already ? ”

          𝐒𝐇𝐄   𝐈𝐒𝐍'𝐓   𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆,    the  journey   (  or  trek,  more  like  )   to  the  rooftop  was  exhausting.    not  only  does  his  legs  burn  from  the  unnecessary  amount  of  exercise  he  had  to  partake,  he’s  out  of  breath  too.    head  buzzing  from  the  alcohol  he  consumed  prior,  he  still  manages  to  listen  and  nods  as  an  answer.       ❛     yeah    ----    fuck  those  people,    ❜        rowan  almost  yells  out,  since  he’s  too  buzzed  for  his  own  good.    settling  on  the  floor  where  the  blanket  was  placed,   he  takes  the  time  to  fully  lie  down.     ❛     don’t  tell  anyone  cove,  but  i  may  have  had  about...    ❜     his  eyes  stare  at  this  fingers  attempting  to  count.     ❛     five  shots  already ?    or  was  it  six ?    anyway,  i  did  drink  quite  a  bit.    how  about  you ?    ❜

       the blonde had finally reached the roof and just like her over-achiever self she brought more than just one item on the list. in her grasp was a laundry basket that contained a few neatly folded blankets, some throw pillows, and a few cookies she managed to bake earlier that morning. after all       what kind of pizza party is it if there’s no cookies to munch on afterwards? “ y’know what would’ve been great? ” she began to one of her friends who had been in hearing distance, “ blanket forts!! ” spreading a few of the blankets out she turned to the other, flashing a wide grin, “ i guess that would’ve required a lot more set up though, yeah? ” 

          𝐈𝐓'𝐒   𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘   𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍   𝐀    good  hour  since  his  arrival  at  the  rooftop,  and  he’s  already  feeling  spent.    maybe  it  was  a  bad  idea  to  drink  a  little  too  much  before  stepping  foot  at  the  event,  but  it’s  the  weekend.     he  needed  to  celebrate  after  the  week  he  just  had    ----   both  pertaining  to  his  academic  and  social  life.       ❛     did  you  plan  this  all  on  your  own ?    ❜     rowan  asks,   his  eyes  intrigued  by  the  sight  of  his  friend’s  carried  belongings.    compared  to  him,  she  came  really  prepared   (  he  didn’t  even  wear  a  shirt  !  ).     grabbing  a  blanket  from  her  pile  to  help  set  the  scene,  he  also  manages  to  sneak  a  hand  into  the  pile  of  cookies  before  holding  it  with  his  teeth.     ❛     i  think    ----    ❜     he  realizes  he’s  mumbling,  so  he  removes  the  baked  good  from   his  mouth  before  continuing,      ❛     i  think  this  should  be  enough.     you  wouldn’t  mind  if  someone  were  to  take  a  nap  in  here,  right  ?     until  maybe...   tomorrow  morning  ?    ❜
