     “then why are we in here?” roz looked up from her own textbooks, her art history texts making her brain fuzzy after the hours she had been spending staring at them and hoping the dates and eras would just imprint themselves in her brain. “can’t we at least go study outside?”

SHE SIGHED IN MILD FRUSTRATION, a hand raked through her hair as she leaned back on her chair and eyed the papers in front of her. she was absolutely swamped. it wasn’t like penny didn’t like what she was studying – on the contrary, she loved every bit of english literature! but too many papers meant more stress for her and the blonde was starting to grow anxious with imaginary grey streaks through her hair. “this is too much to do in too little time…” she pouted, soon laying her chin against the table top surface. “… it’s too nice outside to be stuck in the library…!”

MEGAN LYKAIOS‌:

“Right. All that stuff goes right over my head. I like plain and simple things with hints of color. How the hell do you day something mean with flowers? Isn’t everyone supposed to like getting them? I guess not if you’re allergic.” She shrugged. Not her department for sure. “Artist. That’s interesting.”

     “honestly? i have no idea, but apparently yes, you can say lots of things with flowers,” she laughed. “well technically an art student but i suppose the label artist is subjective anyways.”

      roz had been off in her own little world, and jumped slightly when she heard elle speak. “oh! sorry,” she laughed and looked around, humming. “i think they’re over here ...” she trailed off, motioning for elle to follow as she moved towards another section of flowers. “ah! here they are. they are quite beautiful.”

“Hello,” Elle said to the other blonde to get her attention. She wasn’t sure why, but something told her the younger girl knew a thing or two about flowers. “Sorry, but have you seen any crocuses around? I want to get a bouquet of them, I’ve been obsessed with them lately.”

MEGAN LYKAIOS:

“Oh.” She took the flowers with slight embarrassment. She knew that she needed to defer to people who knew more but it was still frustrating. Meg frowned. “They are really pretty. Do you usually put the two together? I mean does it really matter either way. Some sort of floral rule I’d be breaking?” She knew her grandmother would know but the thought just annoyed her more.

     roz shrugged with a smile, “not sure, to be honest. i focus more on the colors and the aesthetic of the flowers, so i could very well be breaking some rules or saying something super mean with the way i put flowers together, but i’m an artist not a florist. i think that peonies and freesia look very nice together.”

PERDITA DALTON‌:

the mother smiled softly, watching as the artist showed off all the colors to her.  “oh wow, isn’t that pretty darling?” she asked as they got a better look at the paint roz was wearing.  “she’s very talented, isn’t she?”  she put a hand on her daughter’s shoulder.  “go ahead and pick whatever you’d like.”  it was nice to have town events like this she could bring the kids too, she was very grateful for all the people who made it possible.  “oh, that would be quite silly wouldn’t it?” she laughed, blushing a little as she brought her hand up to her nose.  “maybe,” she added with a giggle.

     roz smiled gratefully in perdita’s direction, dipping her paint brushes into different colors and testing them on her wrist so that the toddler could see what they would look like on her skin. “what do you think, princess?” she doodled more flowers onto her arm while allowing her to think. she looked to the girl’s mother, “what does momma think of some pretty flowers?”

Her eyebrows shot up in surprise. The voice had startled her but she was quick to recover. “Right. Sunflowers. I know which ones they are.” She reached out and picked a few. Her nose crinkled at the thought of daisies. “I’m not a daisy person. But I could get behind something that smells nice. That’s this one right?” She said reaching for the wrong one.

      roz shook her head, a smile on her face as her color stained hands grabbed the freesia, holding them out to meg. “these ones here, actually. those,” she gestured to the flowers meg had reached for, “are peonies. also beautiful and great for a pop of color. they’re some of my favorites, actually.”

     “i keep sunflowers and freesia in my apartment,” roz offered as a suggestion. “but daisies or maybe carnations are great options too!” she faltered slightly at meg’s slight self-deprecation, but covered it well with a smile. “that’s what i’d recommend, anyways. really brightens up the room. and freesia in particular smells wonderful.”

Meg needed fresh air and even though there were more people than she usually liked to be around, she still found herself wandering the flower and garden festival. The watering can‘s stall caught her eye and she found herself looking through the bouquets. Maybe something like this would brighten up her apartment? Even though she had been here a few years, it was still very bare. Her fingers touched a few of the petals softly. “I just can’t decide. I really have no idea. Why do I even bother trying to do this kind of stuff?” She grumbled, not realizing that she was talking out loud and someone was right next to her.

PENELOPE DALTON‌:

she grinned, happy to have found her friend in the large crowds oogling at the different activities. pulling out a sweet can of lemonade and handing it over to the other blonde, she eyed the yellow strokes with interest. “what other things have you been painting? mostly flowers and.. bugs i’m guessing?” she teased, bumping her shoulder against roz’s gently. she then glanced into the crowd, squinting her vision as if trying to spot something in particular. “i think my parents are around here sometime… maybe you’d get to meet them or my siblings.” she mused.

     rozaline nodded, “oh yes, lots of flowers and bugs. some crowns though too, and some just colorful objects.” she smiled a thank you at penelope and opened the lemonade, taking a sip before she finished the sun on her hand. “oh i hope so! i’d be more than happy to do some face painting for all of them.”

placing her bag on the bench next to her friend, she plopped down with a soft sigh, leaning back against the wooden surface.”i’m not quite sure… i don’t think it would look very good on me either.” she chuckled, eyeing the other girl’s flowers ( how beautiful ) “i thought you’d might like some company!”

     “when that company is you? always,” roz grinned, setting the brush in her hand down, and trying to wipe some of the paint off her hands with a nearby towel, and then immediately picking the brush up again with some yellow paint  to paint a sun on the back of her left hand. “but honestly, i’m having so much fun with this! all of the kids i’ve seen today have been so sweet.”
