Hear me out for a second;

- You can be concerned about cultural appropriation and still support the trace identity.

- Increasing support and resources for trace communities would decrease cultural appropriation.

A community builds a place to share and learn, a safe space to ask questions and receive support. You simply will not find this growth, respect, and genuine interest for other cultures by adopting the aesthetics of a culture based off of a pinterest board. The shared trace identity offers a community that pure aestheticization does not.

As a CisRromani individual, this is why the trace community brings me hope in a world that bombards me with caricatures of my culture, influencers calling their outfits "boho," and so many other depressing things that make me feel invisible.

I apply this to those who are trace solely for aesthetic reasons too. I still feel seen by them, and I still know an aesthetirromani individual would be a better ally than any random gadje roleplaying a g-psy fortune teller caricature. I trust they value more than the aesthetics, even if that's the cause of their/reason for their identity.
