To whom it may concern,

Dear You who just found out you were pregnant,

This a letter to make you realize that life does not end here, it just gave you a new beginning. I am not telling you what you did is right, I am just here to tell you that you are not alone. You don’t need people to tell you how bad of a person you are, you need support. Because the thought of having a child scares you a lot. What if you don’t get to raise the child well, or what if you cannot give the baby a good future and etc. but this is happening now. Crying and worrying doesn’t help. I suggest you keep the baby. I know, I know, you still have a lot do. Your dreams, your ambitions, you just want to achieve them all. Your family and friends, they will be disappointed but nothing is more disappointing than a person who cannot accept the consequences of his action. Lets say that you said it was unplanned. It actually isn’t. Making love with your partner has its consequences and once you enter that kind of relationship, you knew that making love could get you pregnant. Therefore, your eyes were wide open on this. This is a decision that you and your partner made. Its not his fault, and its not your fault either. Blaming won’t help. You just have to help each other, talk about it and plan together. To you, who was just forced into this, don’t cry. Its not the baby’s fault. Abortion is not a solution. Do you know that the first thing that will be developed in the baby is his heart. Even if its just weeks old, it has a heart beat already. Its alive. And its miraculously growing in your belly. Feel it, its there. That baby inside you will love you forever no matter how you looked, or act, for the baby your his mommy. His ever beautiful mommy. How amazing is that. No, its not true that you will never achieve your dreams because of you got pregnant. You are still alive, as long as you are breathing there is hope. You know why most people or general of them, think that young mothers just wasted their lives, because we made them think that way. You have to change that. Make your baby your inspiration to strive more. To prove them that your child gave you the strength to achieve your goals. Don’t let them dictate what you are going to be in a few years. You have the power to change your life. You are not a bad person, don’t ever listen to people who keeps on bringing you down. You will experience a lot of things, being hated, people will avoid you, make fun of you, laugh, tease you, make stories and etc. but feel your tummy, hold it. Look how this baby hold on to you, and I hope you hold on to him as well. Do you know that some people couldn’t get pregnant, they get frustrated and depressed. There is a reason why God chose you to be the mother of this child, he knew you were capable of taking care of this angel, he knew you you were perfect, you were worthy to have him. God has a plan. And you must have one too, For your child. Everything now would be for your child. Its selfless love—The strongest love of all next to the love of our God. You are capable of that now. Its a blessing. Being a mom is the most wonderful thing in the world. Age won’t tell you how good a mother you’ll be. Always remember that I am here. I will listen. Value the lessons you have learned in this experience.

Insecurity is conquerable. That doesn’t mean never doubting yourself again, it means going on what God says instead of what you say about yourself. It means accepting that God has more amazing things for you than you would claim for yourself.

Overcoming insecurity is about 2 things: identity and humility. You have identity in the Lord. He says you are forgiven, accepted, useful, and lovable. Overcoming is about letting that identity define you instead of your insecurities. It takes time, but it comes much easier the more you do it. It also takes humility to accept what God says about you over what you feel.

Insecurity presents you with an unsolvable puzzle. Your brain can twist anything to fit the narrative of your insecurity. No amount of praise or evidence will solve insecurity. So the way to deal with insecurity is to drop it. To start to realize that the picture your insecurity is attempting to sell you is not reality

Insecurity is a form of greed. However much you have, it is never enough. One of the ways to break free of the hold of insecurity in your life is to give away whatever it is you are seeking. Like with greed, giving something away sends the message ‘this is not my master.’

Culturally, we take insecurity as a form of humility, but is the exact opposite. Insecurity is pure self-focus. Humility is freedom to focus on other things. Insecurity will poison everything it touches.

Ultimately, insecurities, negative body image, and low self-esteem all track back to a lie that the enemy whispers to us. Remember that the enemy has NO POWER over you, the only way he can hurt you is to convince you to hurt yourself.

1 John 3:20 says “If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” God’s truth is greater than the lies we believe about ourselves, but those lies live in your head. You have to go out and find the truths, hold onto them, and deploy them when you need them.

One way or another, you need to hear from God what He sees when He looks at you. You need to know who He made you to be. When you do, insecurity won’t be able to touch you.

Shame is the first thing that’s got to go. I don’t think you can make any change in your life style if shame is part of the picture. Shame debilitates you, it shifts the focus away from where it should be, and shame has a way for driving us further from the Lord when we need to be going to Him for strength.
