Got back on to do the Christmas event and I wasn’t disappointed. I got to see this guy again, which was quite the throwback. I achieved level 99 magic on him way back when :)

120 Invention :) ~150 crystal rods later, 21m off 120 fishing. But with these urchins, ill be 17m to 120.

10 day update on 120 Invention: 

currently 110 invention, 115 fishing. 

50 more rods until 120.

247 more hours, on track to finish on the second day of classes...

came back to train invention... need to make 63 more augmentors, then actually level these all up to lvl 10... 438 more hours of fishing to go...

so whats the deal with the new invention changes? how much exp do you get for leveling up items?

gave my gear to my last active friend, she gave me a bond so if she ever quits, i can reclaim my stuff from her.

I’ve been a member for just under 6 years

and my membership hasn’t lapsed once. I have been, for lack of a better word, addicted to this game for over 8 years total. I always justified it with “I like to play the same game a lot. Some people like to buy new games every month. For me, I like to play a game for as long as I can.” and that still holds true. However, I’ve recently found myself not having a lot of time for games. School totally destroyed me this semester with my 5 classes, independent study, president of two major clubs (ACM and the Student Lectureship Committee), a study group leader, a TA, and on two disciplinary boards. However, I got the best GPA I’ve ever had in college, and I think that is due in large part to the fact that I comp’d over the summer. I was able to put aside this game and focus on things that I found more important. And the less I played, the less I wanted to play. I recently got the Master Quest Cape which I was very excited about, but I think that will be my swan song. I achieved so much in this game. I always had goals of max, comp, and then mqp, and I finally achieved them. So I believe it is time to leave all of it behind. My membership ends in about two weeks and I don’t have any plans to renew it. I might start playing again, maybe just f2p even, this summer when I have some free time (I’ll be up in Boston by myself, working for Amazon), but for now I think this is it. Invention seems awesome and I am supper excited to see what it is all about, but I don’t see myself grinding it out next semester just to get comp back. I think this is a good time for me to leave for all of these reasons. 

I would like to take some time to remember some people and things that happened in my Runescape career. First, there will be the school friends that first got me into it. Ustym, aka uykmasta08, you’ll always have a special place in my heart. And James, aka kruiser8, thanks for the 20k you gave me that one time, even if you did then say “you’ll never get anywhere in this game” right afterwards. Next there was Mike, aka Parable Blue. This kid and I started working as cashiers at a grocery store together. One day I decided to let slip that I was late because I was playing runescape to which he responded “DUDE I PLAY TOO!” He and I have been best friends ever since. I’ll always remember staying up all night, doing ROTM, While guthix sleeps, and Do No Evil together to get our quest capes. There there was my clan, Cosmic Chaos. We had a good couple year run. Davey will always be close to my heart as he was our first member. And also in his 20′s at the time which seemed so old to me. Then there was Bloo Kitten. She was the real driving force behind the clan and to this day, she is the only person to get any of my irl info. She doesn’t play as much anymore but we still text a lot. She’s a great friend and I’m so glad I met here. And finally there is Bing, aka Op Con X, who proved that the world is a small place after all. Some conversation lead to the fact that we live about 10 minutes away from each other. We’ve since lost contact but we used to hang out and play poker with some other irl runescape friends. 

However, what everyone in this list has in common is that they don’t play anymore. I believe my time has finally come, too. 

But finally, there is one more thank you I need to send out. And that is to all of you. This tumblr community is something else. Even though I was never really active, and the drama was rampant, I was inspired and met some really cool people. So thanks to all you level-headed geeks out there who played this game like it was their job and never got involved in drama. Thank you to everyone who came to my maxing party. I don’t think anything I’ve ever done online can top that experience. Finally, special thank you to @blur. You’ve always been supportive and awesome. You’re a true runescape hero. 

With this I sign off. I’ll probably still skim tumblr from time to time, and I plan on keeping up-to-date with runescape for at least the year (I want to see how the quests play out) but I think that’s it for me. Thank you everyone and keep enjoying the game we all love :)

Ripper demons are all that stopped me from getting this on release...  KC for journals went 4, 140, 202, 349, 395, and 815. I went 420 dry for that last book... But thank God I never need to go back there again :) My dream has come true and I am a lore master!
