yet again i am facing technological problems; i left my adapter in sevilla so i can't charge anything until i get to america. 聽this means that you, one of my precious few followers, will have to wait a few days for me to upload pictures from my family trip to andaluc铆a, as well as my final days in madrid. 聽talk to you soon!

today i went to the caixa forum, a museum with numerous floors of exhibits on paseo del prado. 聽i looked at an exhibit about skyscrapers and another exhibit that shows different types of maps. 聽it made me think about cartography and our territorios f铆sicos, mentales, y emocionales. 聽 here is map of nowhere by grayson perry.

paris was filled with amazing food, beautiful architecture, prominent museums, but mostly memorable time spent with friends. 聽it reminded me how important it is to relax, and to consider that in the end, it's worth it to be a little less responsible and indulge.

on sunday afternoon we toured the mus茅e rodin. 聽rodin was a sculptor, making over 400 pieces (he had people working under him to help), mostly of a brilliant white marble. 聽unfortunately, i wasn't allowed to take photos inside the museum, but there was an expansive exterior of his creations too. 聽among them: the thinker (very famous) and the gates of hell (which bri and i are smiling in front of...). 聽i recommend that you research his works, because they are truly gorgeous. 聽i'm glad i went to this museum instead of the lourve鈥攕o tranquil.

still full and happy from dinner at elise's apartment the night before, on sunday morning brianna and i visited the area of montmarte. 聽it's where many artists, like picasso and dal铆, had studios, and conversed at caf茅s. 聽sacr茅e c艙ur, another basilica, is atop the hill. 聽we also enjoyed an amazing french lunch at a caf茅 called botak at the foot of steps that descend from sacr茅e c艙ur.

saturday morning, brianna, kate, and i went to an enormous antique market at clignacourt. 聽although it was chilly in the open-air market, we perused everything from silver spoons to jeweled crowns to furniture for an hour. 聽we bought an antique skeleton key each.

there are over 30 bridges crossing the seine in paris, many with little padlocks dangling from their sides. 聽apparently couple come and attach a lock, then throw the key into the river; how romantic!

i just spent a spectacular weekend in paris. 聽i arrived alone friday morning to a bitter and foggy, yet beautiful paris, where i walked along the seine to the mus茅e d'orsay (to meet brianna). 聽we looked at its impressionist works, including degas, manet, casset, and van gogh.
