FNF New Playable Character Update spoilers below!

Note, this is NOT made to shame anyone's ship, I can't stop you. However, this headcanon has been bugging me ever since the teaser to this update, and people commenting about the pause at BF cutout followed by shooting GF's cutout, kinda ignoring that he gunned down Daddy Dearest and Lemon DEMON's cardboard stand ins.

And like, hiring an assassin hit on someone isn't cheap, so I don't imagine that Pico (and therefore potentially Nene and Darnell) is exactly thrilled with the idea of working for an actual fucking demon, especially given Cassandra's whole motif. But money is money and that's a lot of it, so of COURSE there'd be an agreement anyways.

Allow me to expand further on this.

We literally explore the old facility straight after getting dropped down into the gutters of Aperture, and got to see it's dirty laundry of not only how the Test Subjects were mistreated by more obvious means with how deadly the tests were, but the clear worklife abuse of it's employees.

The sudden firing of more competent minds for yes men that will do whatever batshit crazy shit the CEO wants, the steady decline of funds, leading to some becoming test subjects, this place is HORRID to it's "scientist" or whatever remains.

And from those decisions, we've seen in the Lab Rat comics that Aperture was NEVER nice to the Central AI after Cave's death, (Which is doubly worse if you take the cut content Caroline lines as part of canon, I don't because my standing is if it was cut, sure it might be for censorship reasons, but more than likely it no longer was fit for what they wanted for canon.)

So how do you THINK they treated the other cores if the main central fucking AI with a human brain of the CEOs right hand woman was given that kind of abuse?

Let me tell you, given the lines that Wheatley provides in the manufacturing sections, the betrayal scene, and in the final fight, it doesn't paint a picture that he was well liked by any of the scientists. (and possibly other AI? I'm confused by "an exact duplica of himself," and if this is referring to two AIs that look and act exactly alike or a scientist about an AI like him.)

It was a facility that was flawed and toxic from the start to the point where the AI (remember the whole idea Cave said was "why can't we put a man's intelligence into [a robot]? Brain mapping..." Meaning they based the AI off of the human brain and mapped it, and more than likely? The flaw is that they also put in how the human brain reacts to trauma and toxic environments. Thus, "poisoning" the AI to lash out.

TL;DR: Run your business better than Cave Johnson would, and for the love of everything be nice to the fucking *AI.

* Fictional. Not the AI art stealing ones. I understand that they're only reproducing what they've been fed by humans, but that's still not OK. Don't support those.

Thinking about Portal again and it's just... People get mad at Wheatley for becoming all evil and murderous when getting attached to the facility but... it's literally not his fault.

Wheatley showed 0 signs of annoyance or hate towards Chell prior, hell he didn't have any negative feelings towards her at all until he was going through drug withdrawals and, in the stress of the situation, blamed the only person he could. When he was punching the elevator, it was because GLaDOS, who we know he did not like, provoked him and hit him where it hurt the hardest. Yeah, he was going to lash out! And he just got into the chassis and didn't know his own strength yet and audibly said "uh-oh" when it broke, as in, "oh shit I didn't mean to do that"

Throughout old Aperture, GLaDOS shows that she doesn't care about killing Chell anymore. When she isn't connected to the facility, she's just normal. She's not taunting Chell or calling her fat anymore.

And when they get back up to Wheatley? He's completely civil, kindly asking her to do tests for him so he gets a hit of the drug. It's not until he's going through the withdrawals that he gets agitated and starts to, and I quote, "try things her way". Even through all that stress and frustration, he never considers killing her until he finds Atlas and P-Body.

Then when he's knocked into space and finally disconnected, he apologizes. It's not a fake one, it's real because there's nobody around to hear it. He's stranded in space, no hope of ever returning to earth and seeing either GLaDOS or Chell again and yet he still apologizes because he is genuinely sorry.

Do you get what I'm saying? The facility is poison. The facility itself is what turns whatever robot is attached to it evil.

highlighting an indie game that was announced this week

Wanderstop is being made by Davey Wreden and his team at Ivy Road who you might know as the creator of The Stanley Parable!

What's so fascinating about this is that this game is being shown as a tea shop/farm simulator game. The trailer starts off with a cozy vibe and how the main character, Alta is trying to get accustomed to this new life. She states that shes meant to be in the arena and is a fighter but after she does her menial tasks she starts to relax but slowly she begins to have what I assume is ptsd or some sort of panic attack,

"I can stop running. This is good for me. I need to enjoy this. I feel good. I'm happyI'mhappyI'MHAPPY-"

Davey Wreden made a post talking about his worries about how ppl would feel about making a 'cozy' game. I posted a few screenshots. I highly recommend reading the whole thread! <- (here)

This is what I expected in terms of the twist in narrative and writing from the creator of Stanely Parable and I'm so here for it. Making a genre that is known for being cozy but having uncomfortable but serious themes and topics is just so interesting! I'm normally not a farm/life sim person but this definitely grabbed my attention and I cant wait for its release and see how it goes!
