the san sequoia family center;

a recreation center for san sequoia! vaguely inspired by this french school i found on pinterest. the lot includes a gym, an indoor pool, indoor/outdoor splash pads, a basketball court, music and art rooms, a yoga studio, a board game room, a cafeteria, and some other stuff i’m probably forgetting 😅 it’s pretty safe to say that you should have PLENTY to do here. there are a few graphical issues caused by my commitment to good lighting, but i’ve listed them under the cut alongside some solutions. enjoy!

required packs: i own all of the packs and used most of them, but some included cc items require eco lifestyle and city living at the bare minimum. obviously, growing together is also required for the lot type

Heyy..I did, but you're good. The ceilings I use are from here; the creator actually brought them back and have been updating. It's a default, so you can only use one at a time. I use the dark wood from Eco Lifestyle.

Granite Falls recreation🌲

Hello to all! I’ve been working for the last days on recreating Granite Falls! I’m sharing this with you so that your Sims can have a great holiday in the forest! 🤗

All those lots are in the gallery under my EA ID: Down-In-Simsland 😊

The map above will help you place them, i added the original lot name in their description.

I won’t share the Tray files: if I ever find a bug and need to update, it’s easier for me to have the terrains in one place, I apologize.

They are all fully playable, this has been thoroughly tested.

These terrains do not use CC, and I used all the expansions and packs currently available (the more simple lots might not require them all!).

Please use bb.moveobjects on before placing the lots!

Marbled and Speckled Soaps

The first time I saw the clutter soaps in game, I got emotional. I made and sold soaps wholesale, at local markets and online for a few years, but I got a “real job” and sold all my equipment a while ago. I miss it a lot sometimes. 

Anyway, these beautiful swirly textures worked perfectly on the soaps, and the last marbled swatch is actually from a photo of a soap I made, which I will put under the cut if you’d like to see it. :)

They are both included in the zip file. The marbled has 11 soaps with three dish colors each, the speckled has 8 soaps with two dish colors.

i've received a couple asks for a tutorial of how i create gifs. i know there are really great tutorials out there already. personally, i find photoshop too tedious, time-consuming, unstable, and with varying end results due to file size constraints for tumblr.

so, what's my secret for saving time and not jumping through hoops for clean gifs? i cheat. honestly, ezgif does most of the work for me.

for my step-by-step process, see below!

record your gameplay using geforce experience. another free option is obs studio. if you use reshade/gshade, then you'll need one of these programs to capture the game as you see it.

next, upload your video to ezgif and trim the it down to roughly 10 seconds (or less). this is the start time and end time you see just below the video preview. you can use the video controls to see where you want to start and stop in real-time.

then, change the image size to original (up to 800px) and frame rate to 10 (max 30 seconds). you can push the frame rate higher for shorter gifs, but i've found it's unnecessary and this frame rate keeps the file size down.

method should automatically load up as ffmpeg and doesn't need to be touched. directly below that, check the option to optimize for static background.

your settings should look like this once you've uploaded the video and made the adjustments listed above:

now convert to gif! it may take a few seconds, but your gif will appear below this button. notice the file size, width, height, and frame total? we need to keep the file size under 10mb for tumblr. i generally try to keep it under 9.5mb because tumblr can be finnicky about it and sometimes rejects anything close to 10mb.

if you're already under 10mb (9.5) and like the current aspect ratio, then you can right-click and save your gif as-is. if you're still over the maximum file size or want to change the image ratio, let's continue!

optimization under your new gif, you'll see the crop feature. click through so we can change the aspect ratio. this is up to your preferences, honestly. you can select from the automatic ratios (a lot of folks like 1:1) and then center the box freely. personally, i prefer a 5:4 ratio that isn't listed on the site. since i know the ratio in pixels to fit tumblr's dashboard width, i type my custom dimensions into the fields. (width: 540, height: 430) but you can input whatever you like.

convert your gif again for the cropped dimensions. this should hopefully have you around the 9.5mb file size.

if not, click the optimize link below your gif. from the drop down list under optimization method, select remove every 4th frame, then convert one last time for the smallest file size without losing quality.

if you're still over because you have a lot of shifting colors or you're using a gif longer than 10 seconds, then you can either keep dropping frames off or resize the gif to smaller dimensions.

when you're done, right-click and save your gif so you can then upload it to tumblr. never, ever direct-link from ezgif. these previews you see on their site self-destruct after a few minutes and i can't guarantee that tumblr will publish them. always save and upload.

note: a lot of shifting colors in your original video may create unwanted pixelation. the image is having to move colors around in an attempt to stay smooth. even with that pixelation, i've found this method maintains an overall smoother texture than photoshop.

that's it! i hope this helps making gifs easier and faster for everyone since you don't really need any fancy or paid programs. if you have any questions or find errors in this tutorial, send me an ask!

born out of my desire for a warm yet desaturated autumnal preset that looked good in forgotten hollow, but still worked in the other worlds, the majority of this preset's coloring comes from a mix of three (yes, three, i'm very sorry) layered multi-lut shaders. you can disable them seperately for a different vibe if that's your fancy. ty to @squea for allowing people to use her apros preset as a base, because there's no way i could have made this completely from scratch lol

these images were taken in forgotten hollow during summer, at about 8-9am. this preset is intended to be used with squea's action, so the images are shown with it. keep in mind that presets may look different on your computer depending on your settings. shader list + hotkeys, requirements, and unedited screenshots are under the cut.

Pretty Pretty | A Reshade Preset for The Sims 4

It has been too long. I’m finally sharing another reshade preset with y’all. I have had no sleep, but I just had to get this posted. I will copy and paste the details, but the main post is here.

I started working on this about a month ago when I was looking for preset that could work in multiple lighting situations. It is just what I have been wanting and hope you all will enjoy it too!

The Details

Preset created with Reshade 4.9 | Compatible with Reshade 4.xx

To install the preset, place the .ini file into your presets folder located here ::   C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

Once installed and you have your game open, you will notice in the Reshade UI that I have key bindings for each shader used already selected. You may change them to whatever works for you.

I was inspired by this msg from @cozytraits - thanks for the inspo!!

a soft, slightly desaturated reshade preset that softens green, yellow and cyan tones.

it has a soft, blurred background & it makes pinks and orange tones pop slightly more.

It is ✴ black sim friendly ✴ - I made sure there was no whitewashing while still attempting to make the sims pop. The tones are slightly heightned and softened, so black sims look very soft while still maintaing a skin tone very close to their own.
