Making the burgundy dress.
Design, patterns and sewing made by me. The dress is renaissance inspired, with some personal modifications. The whole dress was hand sewn, including the hems. More pictures of it and a tutorial can be found on my blog.

Currently working through a small backlog of older projects. This was my first foray into making faux pulled-back hairline with an added ponytail and extra support. I typically end up working mostly from my own intuition, but I followed a similar style to the tutorial here if you wanted to give this a try!

Turn it off!
Working through a backlog of old projects - this is a super-quick one I did to construct a version of the famous vests in the Turn it Off sequence of The Book of Mormon when I went to see the Australian production earlier this year. I wanted it to be extra pretty so I used metallic trim and sequins instead of more accurate material - it was a lot of fun! Elder McKinley is my favourite 👌

“Welcome to the train. My name’s Jenkins. I’m the wizard attendant on the Rockport Limited. Can I help you find your seats, or your… where to put your luggage…? Man, I don’t know.“

I had an A+++ time being Rockport’s best wizard with the most dapper bowtie, and not one spell slot wasted 👌
(Apologies to those that have already seen this on my personal, wanted to keep em separate!)

Cheap cosplay knife tutorial (kinda)
Hey it’s me the person that’s terrible at taking pictures to document cosplay builds. Hopefully I took enough pictures of my knife build to make a kinda complete guide on how I made this:

ATTENTION COSPLAYERS:
I would like to make the paint brand “Angelus” known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.
This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they aren’t in the right color for your character.
This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!
In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they don’t look black any more! It’s so good!
I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!
The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.
You can get the paint on Amazon and it comes in every color!
I just really wanted to make this known!! :D This stuff is amazing!

Not strictly cosplay, but as this was technically my first "difficult" sewing project I was pretty proud and wanted to share! This is a fancy velveteen frock coat with embroidery and leather detailing, it's heavily inspired by a particular General's uniform from Napoleonic Wartime - the occasion was for a tabletop gaming event featuring my longtime fancy rogue character 👌

Bit of #cosplayprogress wips, preparing for some whale charm & rune resin casting (from Dishonored) as well as Garrett's 1st gen bracers (from Thief 1 & 2). And working on the Outsider's super fitted pants (also from dishonored)! Having lots of fun 😊

I still don’t get why they decided to change his bracers to green….
I mean change his cloths to a darker color (in art and his model in game) I get darker color blend easier into shadows but green bracers….not even dark green… (his icon for two doesn’t really reflect that he is wearing all black in game like the icon for one doesn’t reflect he is wearing mostly dark blue and black)…Why green…

All this Thief-y talk is making me want to dig out my old Garrett cosplay again (If I can remember where it all is!)
I had fun making this, and I posted up progress pictures on the TTLG Forums for likeminded fans to see and comment on:

There’s a Geek Night in town next weekend, maybe I should dress up in this again ;)
