Day 10 of 2018

I wake up like normal, get ready like normal, except that all my work clothes won't fit! I picked up sizes too small on Monday. So where I took an early train on Monday to avoid having to get them this morning, for no reason. I feel like a sausage. It would be comical if it were on TV. Complete with running in at the last minute to make it to work on time.

Day 9 of 2018

Took a late shift today so I can deal with my car. His name is Bruce (don't judge me!) and a few weeks ago he failed a smog check. I took it in to a 'Certified' mechanic because the state of California is nutty about smog issues. Mechanic just fixed all the hoses without doing a whole diagnostic, so it's a whole new set of codes and problems that this guy can't even look at until next week.

I give up. It's Dad's turn to take a look at Bruce. We'll have to see what he can do.

Day 8 of 2018

I've been on the clock for all of 20 minutes when one of my temporary crowns cracks and a piece comes off. I can hardly make it through my spikes without pain from the nerve. Guess who gets to leave work early to go back to the dentist?

Day 7 of 2018

Best day yet, all things considered. My guy was doing some work things in the morning, so I came home and made soup. I realized I had enough to make a massive batch of Zuppa Toscana to eat all week.

Later, we went to the mall and played indoor minigolf. It was ok. I'm still stiff and tight. Far less pain though. Had more fun walking around the mall with him.

Day 6 of 2018

Decided to go grocery shopping with my step-mom early in the morning. If I can make it through that, I figure, I'll probably be ok for work. The headache never went away and comes at me in full force while shopping. Guess I'm taking an extra day off.

Ran some errands during the day. Spent the evening trying to get my guy to open up. He does finally, and we make up.

Day 5 of 2018

Today I get to wake up late, but I wake up with a tension headache. By the time I'm in the shower, my shoulders are screaming. Head out to work, figuring they'll settle down as I stretch out durring the day. By the time I'm at work, the pain has worked it's way to my collar bone when I breathe. 3 hours into work, and I jam a hard object into my chest by knocking into a wall. I'm not kidding. Accident waiting to happen.

So I check out of work early to go to urgent care. So much for overtime :( Kaiser Urgent care is unexpectedly fast this time. Mild whiplash from the car accident on Day 3. Muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatories, with heat and rest.

Can today be done yet?

Day 4 of 2018

I'm not feeling anything from the accident yesterday yet (just wait). I'm all sorts of cranky from the disaster last night and I just want to talk things out with my guy. He's still being salty. Late into the night talking with him, he finally figures out that I was in the car during the accident.

I'm so not into doing a 10 hour shit tomorrow.

Day 3 of 2018

Today after work, I had a dentist appointment. My guy was waiting on standby to see if my appointment was going to run long. I tell him not to. Dentist does his thing, it runs long. Damn. Ok, Lyft to the rescue.

Except the Lyft driver got us into an accident. Rear ended someone on the freeway. So now my guy has to come get me, only he somehow misses the part where I was in the accident too, so he's all sorts of cranky about it and can't understand why.

Took my sleeping pills and cried myself to sleep.

Today, I went back to work. No one can understand why Disneyland is so busy after the holidays. Seriously, stop and think.

My favorite part of the day is all the guests that don't speak English to me, but will to each other.
