“Well, unless one of us finds a hidden passage, I’m afraid so.” Raine said dryly as she remembered what she read, “In any case, the golems here are meant to act as guardians for a vault. While no one knows what’s inside it, I do think that for the sake of study, we may need to find out.”

“Because I’d sooner expect Zelos to flirt, rather than teach, and I don’t think Aaron learning more than just swordsmanship from him would be a good thing.” Raine said, causing Aaron to speak up as well and throw in his own two cents on the matter.

“Besides,” the one eyed teen said as he took a moment to stretch a bit, “My mom had a contract prepared to assassinate both Zelos and his little sister, Seles... not to mention my late grandpa on dad’s side did something crazy to a Wilder when he was about my age... so that might also be a factor in why it might be better to ask someone else.”

“And what would that be?” Raine asked, though unsure why she couldn’t help but get that annoying feeling of impending doom after she did.

“From what I remember him telling me? He made a bet with I think Zelos’ granddad that led to him going out of the city with no armor or weapons, and then proceeding to tame three egg bears, a chimera and a manticore after wrestling them down with his bare hands, and then parading them through Meltokio all the way to the Wilder Estate and make sure Wilder paid up.” Aaron said casually, while Raine merely looked rather afraid of the teen’s late grandfather.

“What exactly was the bet?” Raine asked in instinct.

“Whether or not he could pull it off.” Aaron said, causing Raine to groan and feel a headache coming on.

“Well then Kratos, after hearing that, do you really think Zelos would want to teach Aaron how to fight?”

Kratos glanced at the teen for a minute, growing more curious about his story by the minute, but now wasn’t the time. There were more important thing to deal with. Though when Raine asked him about helping the boy with his form, he froze.

He’d really only been a sword instructor twice, and only one of those students had learned to really fight like him. A student who ended up losing himself with Martel died. The only reason he’d agreed to teach Lloyd was because his heart was in the right place, and he wanted to ensure his son had the strength needed to survive, as well as protect the people he cared about.

His left hand gripped tightly at the sheath Excalibur was in.

“Are you sure you want me to help him?” He asked slowly. “Why not ask Zelos for help?” The Chosen could be a pain, but he fought with precision and finesse. Kratos knew that their exact fighting styles were fundamentally different. His own style focused on strength and speed, while the Chosen’s style clearly focused on accuracy, precision, and finesse.

He supposed the only reason he was asking was to be sure she really wanted his help. Kratos wasn’t too keen on teaching sword techniques to others after all.

Raine: What I’m surprised by is that Owena managed to destroy that thing behind him when he was trying to kill her. Though... Widdershin’s plan sounds like something someone I met once would do...

Aaron: Yeah... Toriana would force me to kill Half-elves she had captured and brought into a dungeon sometimes... *sighs sadly* hated doing it every time, but well, Uncle Drake kind of helped me learn how to just... keep my feelings under control around her, but the things she had me do to them... *shudders* I... I don’t ever want to have to do anything like that again, and if I do have to kill a person again, well, I’d rather it’d be for a good reason, and that they’re at least able to put up a fight.
