Love how an hour or two before Lyke won an argument with Duvall when he said it was okay Aterika’kaal was dangerous because everything was dangerous, and now he tried to insist that Aterika’kaal was actually safe and he was trying to prevent something more dangerous from happening. Like it’s a perfectly reasonable position in terms of practical meaning, but a terrible one for a debate where you compare how formally sound each argument seems from the outside. (This is such a good way to do consequences for a character’s actions! Both dramatic and completely organically developed.)

And another side of this where Lyke thinks it’s better to keep something in captivity and try to tame it, and Duvall thinks it’s unfeasible. Because maybe it is cruel to keep a wild powerful creature diminished and trapped, what gives you the right to do that? Maybe trying to keep it alive but only on your own terms as it literally throws itself against the glass wall trying to break free is not so kind after all. As I was saying before, where is the line between selfishness and care? At which point does it stop being compassionate and becomes possessive? Aterika’kaal doesn’t want it, at least at the moment. Duvall’s bugs wouldn’t want to be a literal jar of bees, either. Maybe it’s them talking right now. Of course Duvall and/or his bugs say it’s better to find a person to give the reins to. That’s literally what happened to them, and after all, it is the question who’s steering whom, isn’t it.

in pickmans drawing maps episode jack mentions a shape train that doesnt have an engine and is just pulled by a really big train sized horse. i cant stop thinking about the big horse train im proposing the theory that every horse in sangfielle is that big... like i want the horses to be large enough that its a problem and its weird that it hasnt been mentioned yet. i want my horse to be the size of a house

hi everybody!!! made a gofundme to replace my laptop and also save up money for rent or maybe a downpayment on a different place to live. honestly just having extra money helps out a lot.

essentially my laptop got stolen in a break in via a smashed window with a brick last week while i was out (we are safe but it would be nice to have backup money if we want to leave if i am being honest!)

if anyone has laptop reccomendations also please let me know! im looking

this weeks sangfielle thoughts

1. i liked how the opening recap was mostly the cast going "ahh! this is bad!" like thats the best way they could have done that. we dont need specifics. just a general air of "we tried to do this simple thing and it snowballed and went very badly"

2. marn and es are very cute i like their friendship thats been building up lately! sometimes dancing with a friend is better than dancing with some rando :)

3. i think the scene with duvall and the captain was the scariest thing in the show to me so far...... what if we met in the in the captains room and shared memories by trading bugs with each other and we were both [ambiguously defined entities that were temporarily the same]

4. WHY DO THEY NEED TO TAKE APART THE BOAT

havin like a nice chill night after an extremely wild week?? on tuesday someone threw a brick through our window and stole my laptop (bad. obviously) but i had a sleepover with my friends where we all slept on the living room floor to get the house to feel more safe and stuff which is nice. also i got my top surgery call yesterday its on the 26th of january!!!

i feel like "wild" is the wrong word for the second time someones broken into our house since we moved in in june but talking about it more seriously gives me anxiety so ive been trying not to. i love this house but i think i want to move lol.. the break ins are clearly targeted bc our neighbours havnt had to deal with anything but maybe if we move they wont know where we are anymore. idk im safe but im paranoid

i also need to set up a donation post for my laptop bc i use it for art and school when i go back but its been so much effort just getting out of bed typing especially having to type on my phone feels insane

very interesting paralells between rude tales and sangfielle lately... first we got the destruction of a major city feat. an anti magic-cop story arc and also the downfall of a god (idk if i would call what happened with the oratorio a "downfall" specifically but it was.. Something) and now we have OMINOUS RIVER BOAT!
