Lecture Series of Entrepreneurial Mind 2022

“The end of one chapter is just the beginning of another” - unknown

This is the end of our lecture series with Sir Mart and I believe that I have learned a lot. We built a lot of memories together with my classmates and groupmates since our start up was started, we did a brainstorming while making memories. Even though we are so stress of all the things that is happening in our life as a college student, we still enjoyed everything we had together. 

As we will start a new beginning after we just ended the lecture series in Entrepreneurial Mind, I will always bring the lessons that I have learned in this subject, related or not related to the subject, I will bring every lessons that I have learned during the times of taking this subject. 

A lot of memories were built but my most favorite was when before the pitching of our start up, I with my groupmates did a sleepover for us to finish the things we need to finish for the pitching and promotional video in just a night and it was so great because at that moment, I felt the unity in our team as we get everything through. We know what we did and yes, we did our best! We may not the one who was chosen for the final pitching but we, the Team Watch Alert knows that we did everything that we can and it was so great. 

Indeed, a memorable subject to take. Thank you Sir Mart for the guidance.

Market Validation

In this blog, I am going to share how was our market validation.

First of all, the team has decided to choose the Watch Alert for our Start Up and as we have decided also about the price, we have interview different people if are they willing to spend money for the invention that we have thought of and some of them are willing to spend money for it. Out of 8 people, 5 of them are willing to spend money for the Watch Alert because they believe that our invention is really helpful in these days. 

As for conclusion, if we are going to make our start up into reality, I think, it will really click to the people since the price is not too bad which is about P2,500 - P3,000. If I were also to choose if am I going to invent this idea soon, yes, I will.

For the continuation of my last blog, we have proposed our venture proposal and sadly, we got rejected by our professor. However, it is fine because we think of another start up for our venture proposal.

We started to interview people again outside our campus or in our locality about what problems they have seen or encountered right now in Bukidnon or in the Philippines. 

Some people states a problem about the waste management here in Valencia City, to be specific and some people also states a problem about the kidnapping incidents that is happening in the country right now. Not just the kidnapping but also the violence and harmful things that randomly happened in our country. 

We have interviewed 8 respondents again individually and interviewed 48 respondents in total as a group. 

For the team decision, we have decided to propose a “Watch Alert” since some people were alarmed about the harmful incidents that is happening in our country. Our “Watch Alert” is not just a normal smart watch, it is a watch that will give you security in this world full of harmful things. We are very sure that this watch will be helpful no matter where you are using the advanced technology that world has right now. Our watch has its feature where the moment you are going to press the button, an automated text message will be sent to the contacts that have been set through the app that you are in danger. The watch’s feature, doesn’t end there because a lot of key features will be in the watch.

During the process of our start up, I have learned that we should not give up if we are rejected or if our start up was rejected because there is nothing wrong if we are going to start again the process as long as we are doing the right thing until such time will come that our proposal will be accepted. And yes, our “Watch Alert” proposal was accepted by our professor, we are very happy with what we have achieved to start our start up journey.

1st Blog - Entrepreneurial Mind

As part of the process in the making of our “Venture Proposal” we should interview 8 people and ask what common problems they have encountered in our University which is Central Mindanao University. 

The students at Central Mindanao University have been having issues with the distances of the buildings, internet connection, financial problems, transportation fee and very hot room. 

We have conducted an interview inside the University, and we have interviewed mostly students. We asked our respondents about what problems or issues they have encountered here in Central Mindanao University

The results of the interview are mostly those issues that I have mentioned above, in which a lot of students were experiencing an issue about the transportation fees, interconnection, directions, no trashcans and distances of building.

We have interviewed 8 respondents individually and we interviewed 48 respondents in total as group.

For the team decision, we have decided to propose a “Bike Rental” inside the University since a lot of students are having an issue with regards to transportation fees, distances of buildings and financial problems. So, to solve those problems, we have decided to make a “Bike Rental” inside the University.

As for the team options, we have these following choices: (additional benches, bike rental, signal enhancer, aircon/electric fans inside classrooms, trashcans, signages for directions, canteens)

During the process of our “Venture Proposal” I have learned that it is not easy to make or conduct a business because it needs a lot of process. I have also learned that not all proposals will be approve immediately.
