No wonder, why these recipe videos make me CRAVE all through out!
Generally the titles are supposed to be short if you are a good writer.
No issues, I am still a starter or may be a start up –
Yeah, that’s the most IN Word of our country today – “START UP”
Point is that both these words – Starter & Start Up are blowing up my FB Page with numerous RECIPE VIDEOS. I guess that’s the apt word for all these pages.
Hebbar’s Kitchen, Yum, Your Food Lab, Gobble, Cooktube, etc, etc. Just take the name & then you are taken to a beautiful world where there are –
Besan ke Ladoo, Chilli Paneer, Eggless Chocolate Cake, Frankie, Pav Bhaji, Rasam, Pani Puriiii, Strawberry Smoothie, Manchurian,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Just name your craving – You will get it on these mouth watering pages!
The concept of 20-30 minute cookery show has been taken to another level with these amazing replacements –
Back Then
Chef’s Face (The most important)
20-30 min cookery show
Fixed 30 min time slot on Zee or Star Plus or Sony TV
Dialogues were so much required!
Now
Quick hand movements
2-3 min quick recipes
Woo Hoo! Anytime & any number of times
Instrumental – no dialogues at all, just some engaging background score & there you go – Your recipe is READY TO EAT!
Today, these short videos keep the main focus on the – FOOD or say the cuisine that is being prepared which actually instigate your urge to make them. Moreover, it is a psychology that when you see something prepared so quickly, you feel to try it once, even if it is an elaborate dish!
Even if you are not a Chef or a lover of cooking, but still you will get addicted to the way the camera captures the entire video of the recipe preparation. You start falling in love with it the moment video starts. Big high five to the cinematography.
We run short of time & that’s why we lack patience to actually sit down & watch the traditional cookery shows. Also, back then, in 30 minutes time slot you got to know 3-4 dishes which now is roughly 7-8 minutes for 3-4 dishes. That is why these pages are such a hit today.
What remains similar today & back then in the traditional shows also is the utensils that they use. I mean in most of our homes we are still using the same old pans, mixer grinder, pressure cookers (the whistle of which must have changed so many times :P), etc. But here you find the most innovative, up to date techno savie utensils, that I guess makes food look even more gorgeous!
Yes gorgeous!
If you are an ardent food lover, you will not find anything more gorgeous than FOOD. Those fresh corianders garnished on top, that little butter cube on butter paneer masala, one table spoon fresh cream on that daal makhani, that spreading of cheese whole heartedly, everything is beautiful.
So, all you explorers out there, head to your kitchen and prepare your favourite dish & if you wish, share your recipe too! Well I ll be making something healthy tonight – Brocoli & Almond Soup:)

Best Ideas come in SHOWER!

Is it the gushing of water on your head that activates your brain cells that its high time to WAKE UP or is it the FREEDOM to choose - Red or Blue or as they say famously - “Right is for cold & Left is for hot”
It might be a mix baggage of these 2. When you have freedom to do something, your creativity coupled with your gut brings magic & an idea is born.
All this started when I began studying for my aim - To be a Chartered Accountant. There were so many nights that I slept with confusions & doubts which were answered by my brain itself when I used to take a shower. My day’s scheduling, time tables, priorities, everything was decided in those minutes. Even now, when I have reversed my role entirely to a Digital Marketing person, I get flooded with even better ideas in shower.
This morning ritual triggers my not so intelligent mind & charges me up for the day ahead. This might sound a little spiritual but I tried one more thing. I closed my eyes, kept my head high, facing the water I remembered the spirit I believe in the most from the core of my heart. I actually felt that this was not just water coming through, its its wishes pouring me & setting me up for the day. Those wishes bring a cheer & glow on my face to face the new me.
There is another interesting part. I never use any artificial light in the mornings. Its the ample sunlight in the shower area that gives me morning wishes. Thanks to the structure. At times, it is fresh to keep your lights & fans off in the morning & take yourself natural with the nature & its creations. Since, I am not in the vicinity of the made up rays, the ideas that come up are also not made up but all mine.
There can be even more permutations as to why ideas come in shower. These are what I could feel till time.
If you have some other theory or IDEA, please do share:)
